  1. Hallo to everyone. I have a problem with exposing from AP. Once the image is exported it has some really strange colors.... But only if reported from AP... If the same image goes from Lightroom to AP and back no... Tiff format or jpeg happens the same... It doesn't happen if i save a .afphoto project. tried in various formats but didn't change... Thank you very much...
  2. Hi, Right now the export Persona assumes that you are always doing the @1x resolution, and only allows you to scale UP to @2x and @3x and complain when anything is not vector. The reality of UI design is that you need to deal with raw images in your design, and even if they are sent as a maximum resolution, Affinity Designer doesn't let you say you are working at @3x and request scale DOWN version of @1x and @2x for example. Please consider this feature. Having to downscale by hand is time consuming. Ideally you would tell the layer in which resolution you are working (@1x, @2x or @3x) and then the slices view would create all the views to be exported based on it.
  3. If I create a slice in Export Persona and use the "Export selected" button from slices panel, I after selecting 1x, 2x and 3x checkbox, I get this files as output: slice1.png slice1@2x.png slice1@3x.png It is OK for apps, but when I need it for websites, some servers has issues with "@" character, so my naming convention becomes: slice1.png slice1_2x.png slice1_3x.png I’d like to have the ability to save this naming convention (may be in "Export options" presets), so I can use the great "Continuous" function.
  4. I cannot open the exported tiff from affinity in another application because it sonly affinity writable. I do need to be able to edit a result in another app.
  5. So what happens if I create a file in AD and have to send it to a agency that requests ai format so that they can edit it? I have tried exporting out of AD as an eps hoping that the agency can read all my edits but they get botched up. Is there a good way to make this happen?
  6. would like to see export as tiff with an extension of "tif". Some programs don't like tiff.
  7. In Lightroom you can add a preset watermark when you export a photo. Can you do that in Affinity without creating an image that you can layer into a photo?
  8. I did a search on feature requests on slices, and didn't really see anything on this or in the roadmap. I did see a post that there is more to come for Exporting Personal, but here is a feature(s) I've come to want while working with AD. In Export Personal (AD), if you create multiple slices, they are literally all over the design, yet we have a palette dedicated to the management of those slices. I would suggest that the palette be the "controller" of showing and hiding slices created by a simple selection(s). So, instead of slices constantly cluttering the design, with only corner anchor points being the highlight a slice is selected, hide the slice unless that slice is selected within the palette. This would greatly clear up the interface and provide good UX. Especially since you already have to select the slice that you want to export, this would give clear visual feedback of what a user is exporting without all the clutter of other slices. In addition, to further enhance this, by selecting multiple slices within the palette, it could group slices as a composite export selection. This would allow us to define potential elements of export through slices, without literally having to create every possibility. See attachment. So, since the slices palette already is the determining factor of what is getting exported, and if we hide the slices unless selected, then being able to select multiple elements for different variations of exports would be wonderful as a composite of those selected slices. If anything, at least hide the slices' bounding boxes unless it is selected within the slices palette. Otherwise, it can get very unruly.
  9. Hello guys. I would like to ask few questions regarding PSD import / export from Photoshop to Affinity and back. I use Photoshop CS6 in my PC and I have a plan to use Affinity Designer (or Photo later) to do comic book lettering. I use just few tools in PS like Shapes, Paths and Text layers, with some of blending options like Stroke, Drop shadow, Colour and gradient fill. I created one PSD file in PS containing layers with ballons and text for testing how it will be opened in Affinity Designer - option: Favour editable text over fidelity. Well, it looks quite good, but there are still some small issues. I create ballons as elipse (Shape tool) with the tail (Path) as non-destructive combination. AD export this combination as dectructed shape with no possibility to edit ellipse and tail indepently. Yes, still editable as curves but non destructive combinations from PS are gone. Is there something I can do in PS and/or AD to be able import connected shapes correctly? When I create ballon in AD as non desctuctive compound of Ellipse and curve, export it as PSD, then it is opened in PS as 3 layers (with clipping mask?) but the curve is not combined with the ellipsis as in AD. They look like separated shapes. Text layers are imported to AD as editable text, but some of settings are not the same e.g. I am missing “optical” kerning. Would it be possible to get this option in the future? When I export PSD from AD and open it in PS the text layers are rasterised and they are not editable anymore. Would it be possible to get this option in the future? Gradient fill of the Shape is imported/exported correctly but gradient fill as "blending option" of the layer tis imported to AD correctly but in export from AD to PS it is changed to simple colour. Some of my clients are quite OK to get flat 1 layer TIFF or high quality JPG, so there will be no issue. But some of them reqest to have editable PSD to be able do some minor changes by themslef (ususally text correction) if needed. They works with Adobe stuff on PCs so obviously I cannot push them to switch to Affinity’s products and Apple hardware. There are screenshots of my lettering test in Affinity Designer and Photoshop. Original file created in Photoshop: PSD opened in Affinity Designer: and PSD exported from AD and opened back in Photoshop:
  10. Designer Make an option to export only when saving document. Mac uses much resources when continuous is switch on. Great application :)
  11. I would love to have arbitrary control over the dimensions of exports from slices. Right now I can only tinker with the size of whole document exports (File > Export). But if I’m exporting slices, which I regularly want to do, I seem to be stuck with 1x, 2x, 3x. I want to export smaller versions of slices more often than larger. At the very least, I’d like 25% and 50% options, but full control over the exported dimensions is what I really want. I’m surprised more users aren’t asking for this here. Perhaps my workflow is unusual, but … surely other web publishers start with the maximum resolution possible and then export smaller versions of it? P.S. Export preview desperately desired too! (I know it's on the roadmap. And it can't come soon enough for me!)
  12. Hey, Would love to see a "Projected Export" option in the export dialog. It would basically create a new file that has expanded and merged all the outline of the elements visible on the canvas. Currently, the process of getting the outline only is just as tedious as any other vector tool, but Affinity Designer can and should do better! Like this:
  13. Slice(From Layer) is more accurate slice frame size by just select an object, then create slice. But it can only export the things selected, cannot export the other rest shown on the slice. Somebody know the other ways to multiple Export with Background? Thank you.
  14. I am creating layer-based export slices (in the Export persona, selecting a layer then clicking "Create Slice" at the bottom of the layers palette). When I export retina assets, they often do not have even-numbered pixel dimensions. This is not useful for app or game development, as the @2x graphics need to be exactly double the size of the non-retina graphics. Is there anyway to force it to export even-numbered pixel dimensions for @2x? Thanks! -Mike
  15. Hello, As i see you are continuously improoving AFD ,i would like to propose very usefull feature for export formats using transparency like PNG and PSD. A smooth edges option for removing jagged edges would be much appreciated. It would be some kind of automated feather along borders. Tell me what you think about it please. Regards, Alex.
  16. I'm trying to get my designs to the printer. The only format that successfully export what I'm seeing on my screen is Jpeg. This is worthless due to the resolution. The printer is requesting a PDF file for resolution purposes. When I try to Export in PDF, the image has lost elements from the original document, and the color details are totally different from what I've designed . I'm reading these wonderful reviews from people. They must not be trying to do actual work with this software because it can't be done. The software is pretty good as long as you remain a hobbyist and just create art within it. That means absolutely nothing if you can't use it to do actual design work .
  17. Id love some help! Im creating print ready banner art. Each time I try to export, in any format except affinity, Affinity Designer crashes. What can I do? thanks! rs opening.soon.afdesign
  18. Hi folks, hello Serif-Team, I need to export my work as PDF/X (3), many advertising agencies, printing companies or clients ask for it. Will Affinity Designer support this important format/settings? If so, when? ;)
  19. I have an image with multiple layers, mostly vector but with a couple of pixel layers plus my black background layer is pixel. I exported to JPG and also to TIF. Everything looks fine in Affinity Photo but when I look at the JPG or the TIF in the finder or on my iPad...I have a 1 or 2 pixel white line along the right edge. I'm guessing on the size since the line can't be seen in Photo where it could be measured. I've tried the export several times, both with everything merged down and with it not. Still get the line. What is the problem here?
  20. Dear, When I export the layout into a .psd file, the layers with editable typographic fonts are automatically converted to pixels when I open the document in Photoshop. Someone would have an answer to solve this problem? Thank you for your help.
  21. Hi, today I found that doesn't work expanded export settings in version 1.3.5 – botton «More» doesn't work. It only my mistake, or I do something not so?
  22. I've had to re-work some vector illustrations and the file format was .ai - as expected AffinityDesigner loaded it perfectly and I made the changes quickly. I now however need to deliver the updated source file. I realise I can't export to .ai - so what's the best alternative? I know I can export to PSD, PDF, SVG and EPS but I'm not really sure which one to use. Any suggestions? Thank you in advance. p.s - Absolutely LOVE AffinityDesigner. Still using the trial version but will be purchasing soon. I hope this community is as useful as the app itself.
  23. My first project learning to use AD and it won't export correctly. See Image #1. (What it's supposed to look like.) Image #2 (export settings) and Image #3 (what it actually looks like). I tried exporting in jpg, png, and psd, but the dice and coins don't show up in the final exports. I used export persona to export slices and got the same result. The dice and coins are not visible in the slices. Well, image #1 exported correctly when I broke apart the coin and dice groups, but that did not work on the other pages. If anyone knows how to fix this problem please let me know. This is a personal project, but I still have a deadline. Looks like I'll have to use some screen shots to produce the final cards since I'm planning to laminate them tomorrow. By the way this is a remake of a game by Calliope Games called 'Roll For It'. Follow me on Art Station and check out more of my work. https://b_sean.artstation.com Peaceout! B.
  24. I have a document with a few layers in it which I want to "batch export" using your "multiple slice based on layers" function. I select a layer and click "create slice". A slice is automatically created, but it's bigger than my canvas area because the layer's image runs off the canvas. Is there a way to limit this function to be restricted to the canvas's size? (without having to manually draw a slice which I find a difficult to get exact since it doesn't seem to snap to the canvas edge) This is an awesome function that's really speeds up the exporting & re-exporting process so I want to get past this issue. (I don't think it's a bug, I just need to tick a box somewhere to limit this command)
  25. Great, if AD and AP could export many files and file formats in one single step with retrievable settings.
