  1. Hello everyone, Even though I've owned Afinity for a while, every time I use it, it feels like it's the first time. Completely disoriented 🙈 I'm used to going back to the previous tool by pressing the ESC key in about 99% of all the programs I use For example (AFP) "V" then edit a text object - > press ESC - back to "V" Instead, I have to "conveniently" go back to the toolbar and select the move tool. Surely this can be switched off somewhere in the program branches, can't it? Thank you PS: I haven't been in the forum for a long time. My login was not accepted. But my old name cannot be used either (???). Reset password did not work either. Was that Affinity magic? Have I missed any changes in the meantime? Translated with www.DeepL.com/Translator (free version)
  2. When I press Esc after clicking on an area to fill, the dialog with the progress bar disappears. Usually, I would do this if the computation isn't instantaneous, which indicates there's a slight gap. In that case, the Flood fill should be cancelled/ undone as well. However, this is currently not the case on Windows 22H2. In Photo 2.0.0.
  3. It would be really nice if we could cancel the Crop tool in Affinity Photo with ESC key on the keyboard. Currently the only way to do this is to click on the "Cancel" button on the top which is slower.
  4. As many contributors requested, I´m missing a very important shortcut: hitting ESC to release the texttool and have the movetool Its not only to move the box, its because I I must often select a few objects after typing, or to change colors of objects and so on. That is why it is a hindrance that the tool does not switch to the move-tool. Its very easy to locate the ESC-Button and hit it (twice). Its not so easy to search "v" and hit it without an acident. Its a most-requested feature, so please have a look at it (some examples, more in the forum). Thank you!
  5. OK, so this is driving me crazy as hell. I use transform panel all the time. And I would expect that when I press Escape key I will return to the workspace. But no - the cursor stays in the field of Transform panel and I have to either click inside the working space to get away. Too cumbersome and strange behaviour. For example I need to change the size of an object - I go to Transform Panel, change the size and then I want to move the object around using keyboard. So after pressing Escape I should be able to go on, but the cursor is still within the transform panel and when I click on keyboard arrows to move the object, its size changes instead... I'm not sure if I'm explaining it right, I hope so. Maybe I can set up this Escape shortcut - but I don't know where exactly... If you can help I will much appreciate it. Thank you.
  6. Its mandatory (for me) to have a quick escape from many functions. So in PS its possible to hit "escape" on the keyboard and the actual transformation/funtion is gone. But not so in affinity photo. :-( Edit: Its built in Filter/Distort/Perspective (translated from the german version), but its not in some other essentials like the named crop-function, mesh-transformation. Please build this nice little feature in all/most functions for the next release. Thank you!
  7. The escape key doesn't cancel out of the crop function on my 2017 15" TouchBar MBP. It would be great if it did, or if you added a Cancel button on the TouchBar. Thanks for all you do!
  8. What is the keyboard shortcut to escape using the artistic text tool? I've tried cmd+enter, which works on other applications, but this seems to convert the text to paths. I've also tried repeated hitting the escape which some forums seem to mention, or hitting cmd+d to deselect, but neither of these allow me to escape. My use case is after I type the text I want to move it in its entirety, but to do that I literally have to drag the mouse all the way to the selection tool, then drag all the way back to re-select the text and then be able to move it. it would be much easier to be able to escape, type v for the selection, and move. Thanks to anyone who can help!
  9. Hello, I noticed for example when using the perspective tool, hitting the escape key will cancel the operation, but with the mesh tool it doesn't along with the crop tool. Some of this inconsistency, could use more work. Yes, you can click the "cancel" instead of apply on the toolbar, but some of us keyboard shortcut power users often prefer keyboard alternatives too as a lot of use multiple input devices, I feel that the escape key should always be accessible during instances like these. I haven't used it much yet, but the develop persona could possibly find use with this, so when a user attempts to do something in this mode but changes their mind, pressing the escape cancels the transformations and takes them back to the photo persona. VERY excited about the latest beta! Thanks
