  1. Hi there, I tried to import several emf files into designer. but all of them cannot be displayed correctly: a lot of elements in the file were missing. f1.png shows what does the emf look like in other software (e.g., Windows Paint, Inkscape...). f2.png shows what does this file look like in Affinity Designer. I also attach tht original file for your reference. Thank you. 3FoldNP_ALI_Day1.emf
  2. Hello developers, Please fix broken EMF and WMF export in Affinity Designer 1.8.5.703 in Windows 10. The bug is there at least since 1.6 (that's when I started using AD). Bug is also present in Affinity Designer Customer Beta 1.9.0.864. Steps to represent bug in EMF export: Start Affinity Designer 1.8.5.703 Create New Document > Web > SVGA 800x600 Create grey circle 600x600 in the middle Export file to Circle.EMF Create new document in Word 2016 or 2019 (I cannot test in earlier versions) Drag and drop Circle.EMF into Word document Save Word docment as PDF using File > Save As > PDF Resulting PDF should display grey circle, however there's nothing displayed in PDF (white space)! Steps to represent bug in WMF export: Start Affinity Designer 1.8.5.703 Create New Document > Web > SVGA 800x600 Create grey circle 600x600 in the middle Export file to Circle.WMF Create new document in Word 2016 or 2019 (I cannot test in earlier versions) Drag and drop Circle.WMF into Word document Expected Word should display grey circle. The circle is displayed but it is 1/2 smaller and has a lot of extra white space around it. Save Word docment as PDF using File > Save As > PDF Resulting PDF has grey circle but it is still small Steps to represent correct behavior when exporting to EMF/WMF using Inkscape 1.0: Start Affinity Designer 1.8.5.703 Create New Document > Web > SVGA 800x600 Create grey circle 600x600 in the middle Export file to Circle.SVG Open Circle.SVG in Inkscape 1.0 Save Circle.SVG to Circle.EMF using Inkscape > File > Save As > Circle-Inkscape.EMF Create new document in Word 2016 or 2019 (I cannot test in earlier versions) Drag and drop Circle-Inkscape.EMF into Word document Save Word docment as PDF using File > Save As > PDF Resulting PDF shows grey circle correctly Same accepts (works correctly) to WMF export using Inkscape 1.0 I'm attaching source files (.AFDESIGN, SVG, EMF, WMF) mentioned in steps to this post in 7z archive — Broken EMF-WMF Export Bug Report Source Files.7z Black lives matter, mumbojumbo
  3. I use Affinity Designer in macOS, with Mac mini M1 In export pop-up window, there is no wmf tap. How can I activate it?
  4. I couldn't create a gradient-filled eclipse shape when I used 'File->New New from Clipboard' menu. Curiously, it worked well for a gradient-filled rectangle and full-filled ellipses. So I tested by EMF files of the above shapes, I got the same results. I attached these files below. Is this problem known? ELLIPSE_shape_with_FloodFill.emf ELLIPSE_shape_with_GradientFill.emf RECTANGLE_shape_with_GradientFill.emf
test.emf
  6. Hi, I was looking at the thread about the requested features for next versions. In the output formats I saw that the WMF/EMF format is missing. This is crucial in my workflow as most of my graphics are for MS Powerpoint and some other apps that use this format. In the meantime I have to go back and keep working with Inkscape to be able to export to this format, which breaks my workflow and adds a lot of extra work. Please, consider this format in the export options. Even if Powerpoint is a MS product consider that is widely use in Mac system. Thanks.
  7. Hi Affinity devs! It would have been great if Affinity Designer was able to export in emf (enhanced meta file) format. I believe it's a more widely supported format on the Windows platform than any of the current vector-based export formats that AD offers. Since Serif has a solid history of developing great windows applications, that would be a piece of cake, wouldn't it? ;) /Miro
  8. Would be great to have an "export to .EMF" one day. To insert vector graphics into MS Office applications.
  9. Hi Affinity devs! It would have been great if Affinity Designer was able to export in emf (enhanced meta file) format. I belive
  10. Hi I want to import an emf file into Affinity for editing. I have tried dragging the file into the main screen on Affinity, and also using the File>Place function, but the file is not recognised. Is there something I can do? Thanks!
