When I copy a .PDF file into a blank document it is not editable as far as I can see. I have set resolution at 300DPI at both ends. I cannot find how you set read as text. (searched the import page). If I can make this work reasonably well I will buy Affinity. Thanks Chris Charles Gardiner jnr.afpub

Hello all! Currently working on some ID cards for work, and the printers have asked for a file with editable text. I have succeeded in making an editable PDF in Publisher, however when I reopen the file in Publisher to test it, when I go to replace the text (which the printers will do) the dimensions of the text box are not the same; any text that would go beyond the border, will automatically create a new line - instead of extending the text box. In the original file, the text box is spread to the margin line (48mmX2.7mm), however when re-opened the text boxes are shrunk to fit the text. I am assuming that the printers will use Photoshop or Illustrator, I was wondering if anyone could reassure me that my file will work the way I need it to in the Adobe softwares or if there's any way to fix the text dimensions so that they don't adjust? (Side note- I noticed Publisher can export into .PSD, if there's a way to keep the file editable while keeping the text boxes fixed then that would be absolutely lush). I hope this all makes sense, I can attach the file if people need to mess around with it. Thanks all - look forward to learning!

hello, I hope to find a answer or workaround for an important matter when exporting from Affinity Photo as a PSD file. just sent a PSD file that I exported from Photo to a client and he reported back, that all the Text-Layers are rasterized and not editable. i tried the "PSD (preserve editability)" and "PSD (preserve accuracy)" but both versions export the document with rasterized text-layers. anything I missed or a workaround or is it not possible with Photo to export text-layers to a PSD file? BIG thanks in advance for your help!

When I started using Affinity products first, I thought it's not possible to import PSD file and edit the texts. However, I searched on Google and came to know that it's quite possible by turning on "Import PSD text as text rather than bitmap" option on the Preferences. It'd be great if we see this option turned on by default on the upcoming updates What do you think friends?

The text for export, especially .psd, should be fully editable, no matter if the text is curved, stretched or rotated. Maybe even if a FX is applied, but I guess that's a minor point. The lack of this feature is a major drawback IMO. Many of my clients need to edit the text themselves and most use PS. I know a lot of artists who need this feature.
