  1. Hi, I am a new Affinity user. I was hoping for some suggestions to help with this problem... I scanned an old document that has some patterns (sort of blue-green or teal design against age-yellowed paper). I am trying to capture the design to use in another project, but the original image is so aged and rough it is proving difficult (in fact, the original print was probably of poor quality, even when new). I have attached a "before/after" image of what I would like to achieve. As you can see, the one branch is a solid color with sharp edges. This was done by hand. I have read the "edge detection" section in the manual, and the few forum topics I thought pertinent, but came up short. Any ideas on how I can make this process any easier? Thanks... Futuremoose
  2. Hi, I have purchased Affinity Designer recently and yet to get used to it. At the outset, it looks fascinating and easy to us. Now the problem, that I am facing. Is there a tool, something like Magic Wand in Photoshop, where I click inside an enclosed area and the nearest edges are detected automatically. Then, I can fill the colour, cut, move and transform the selected area. I have read that Brush Selection does the same thing, but, it actually isn't the same. Or, may be I do not know how to use it. This is quite an important tool for me. I would appreciate an early help. Thanks,
  3. One of the things I do a lot is create masks for bitmapped images. It would be incredibly useful to have an edge-detection selector (a "magic lasso" sort of thing) so that I could easily select the object on the bitmap image that I need to mask. Admittedly, this is more of a bitmap-drawing rather than a vector-drawing sort of thing, but it's annoying to have to load an image into Gimp to create a mask, then load that mask into affinity designer.
