  1. Sometimes it seems to be valid to remind Affinity that moving a million objects in Lightspeed (what is absolutely great!) is the problem of fewer people than beeing able to use the programs in an effective way. I'd like to bring up the handling of windows to program managers attention. Just to clarify the issues in a visual way I'd like to demonstrate how it could be done effectively in comparison to Affinity products - using PS 6 as an example. Just a simple "undocking" of a window - PS doesn't change the zoom factor, builds the new window neatly around the resulting window and places it within the working area: PS vs AP 1.mp4 Next example - Zooming in and out PS leaves the content in the center of the window - regardles wht the zoom factor is so you can instantly go on working on the document - unlike AP. The document is moved out of the center and after movin in it can't be found any more ... plenty of additional steps necessary to go on working. PS vs AP Center 3.mp4 3rd example - Resizing of windows as long as there's space (this is an feature in the PS preferences - would be nice and save a lot of additional keystrokes in Affinity): PS vs AP Windows Resize .mp4 As well you can see that the toolbar in PS is roughly 60% of the toolbar in AP ... would be nice to get a smaller toolbar as well and increase workspace... If one of the abouve mentioned features should be available in Affinity I could not find it - and I'd be happy if someone could point it out to me 🙂 Cheers, Timo
  2. Hello Everyone Hello Team I gladly spent the last few days working on projects and realized how easy and fluid Affinity photo have become but ... yes because can't move forward without a request for improvement. I'd like to notify that the Develop Persona is something quite complicated from noobs perspective which should be revamped and made more intuitive for all levels of knowledges. What's there and the way it works is cool but more for Pro/Skilled people to work with (same case for the Tone mapping persona) to my defense on this, I used Luminar for like every projects I needed to finish which is actually a non-sens. Looking at Photoshop with their improvement made on Camera Raw, I believe this is a sort of path to bring on the Develop Persona of Affinity Photo. Making things easy to grad and to do without having to worry "what app will color grade with ease while making me save a big amount of time and money etc." I know it's possible and the Team behing the Photo app can make it happen with the ease of a click for our pleasure and joy. Something mid-ground between Camera Raw and Luminar will be welcomed. Hope I posted in the roght place without creating a duplica of request that aleready existed years/months ago. Blessings !
  3. On the Mac version, can I ask what's happened to the Title bar along the top of all Affinity Apps ? Has it now become the tool bar ? I'm hoping there's a way to get the title bar back as an option, as I find it really difficult to move the app windows around now. Loving the apps and still not missing Illustrator, Photoshop or InDesign 🙂
  4. Well, I have not a lot to say, the title says it all. Affinity line of products have great tools and impressive functions but I strongly and deeply believe it is time for the thing to get an Ai. There are great benefits from implementing Ai with deep learning. Resize, crop, selection, tone map, snap, resources management to only list these can get great benefits from it. Even most common tools such as pen tool, fill tool, transparency tool, defringe, haze removal, live perspective, blend/replica tool etc can benefit from it to. Devs should think about and put something on the rails, please don't the 100% ready route implement step by step, tools by tools and have us to work with it and revert telling how it is doing so you can better it and deliver a top notch or next plus ultra software line of products. Blessings !
  5. In Serif Publisher, I was able to set up a page with multiple images, and then drag and drop replacement images into them as I needed. In Affinity Publisher, this no-longer works, and I have to go to 'replace image' and then be confronted with having to find the image I need in an file explorer type interface. This takes a lot of time, especially as I often have need for images from more than one subdirectory, whereas drag and drop from one or more directories open in explorer is efficient and very satisfactory. Also, when clicking on an image in the Serif product, I was given the option of 'replace picture'. This isn't there on the Affinity product. Can this be implemented somhow? I cannot find it anywhere when searching the various help options.
  6. Several requests focused on ease of use: Brush size: Rather than having to go to the toolbar, let me press, say, ALT and drag my mouse to change size. Show the changing size as I drag my mouse so I can quickly and easily get the size brush needed. The request is similar to how one can change brush size in Lightroom. Changing zoom factor: There are some screens where it seems I cannot change zoom factor without leaving the tool in use. Let the zoom change work at any time in the midst of any tool without having to leave the tool. Pete
  7. Hi guys, well I love the Affinity apps, but I have a tiny little suggestion which I think could help a lot: Add an option to simply make all objects snapping candidates. Let the user decide if it’s getting unwieldy and to switch to the shortlist limitation. Make this enabled by default. I would suspect that a vast number of users would leave this option enabled most of the time, if not always. Only when it truly gets unwieldy with too many snap candidates would they look through the snap options and discover that there is an option to switch down to a shortlist. Also, now actually realising that there is a shortlist, the user would then be mentally primed to find out how it works. This would all but eliminate the very understandable current user thought process of “snapping seems buggy, this app is flaky, how can they not have snapping sorted out in 2016? Back to Illustrator I go.” And it's not just a learning curve and app adoption thing. Even though I now know about the candidates shortlist, I would way rather switch it off right now and just effortlessly snap objects together! Cheers, Jules
  8. I'd like to request the straight-line function of the lasso tool (a selection tool) in affinity photo beta to be reworked a bit. Either as a separate tool, or with the shift button switching between straight and curved, without having to hold it down all the time to maintain the straight selection function? I found it quite impossible to make straight selections with my macpro touchpad while trying to press shift at the same time, and still use the spacebar to pan around the image. Plus that and I am a one-handed user, it's.. sort of an accessibility issue. :o Gimp has a good way of handing straight VS click-n'-drag behaviors with the lasso tool, by adding a vector point indicator (a circle indicating the beginning of the straight line activity and only completing the straight line when a new click occurs) and following the mouse with a line each time the cursor is lifted (mouse moved without click input). Thank you for sharing Affinity Photo as a live beta tool. We're very happy with our purchase of Affinity Designer!
