  1. Hello, I have a small question. why are the new Nik Filters only recognized by Affinity Photo V2 when you turn on (use plugins from an unknown source)? I would also like to know if there will be a way for developers to support the whole thing natively without activating the corresponding unknown sources? as has been the case, for example, with Photoshop for years. That would make working with both softwares much easier! Of course, as a user, I can't say exactly whether this is due to Affinity or DxO. LG Nonbeitz
  2. AF Photo crashes when using NIK plug-ins. Problem shows when I am using and manipulating control points in the NIK plug-in. It is most common when using the Dfine 2 plug-in, but can happen with other plug-ins as well. The crash does not produce a debug file, nor is there any restore point. After multiple crashes, I've given up and reverted to using an old version of Photoshop to get the work done. Version: 1.9.1.179 Edition Windows 10 Pro Version 20H2 Installed on ‎2020-‎08-‎01 OS build 19042.804 Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.551.0 Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-9900KF CPU @ 3.60GHz 3.60 GHz Installed RAM 32.0 GB Graphics: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 Ti, Driver 457.51 Crash occurs when Hardware Acceleration is either on or off. I've tried both. Plug-in image window functions in a more stable manner when hardware acceleration is off.
  3. Hi I have installed the new NIK4 collection trial. I have set them up as per attached. However, when I go to plugins in the APhoto drop down when an image is loaded, nothing shows up. Can anyone help pleas asap! Cheers
  4. Hi all, DxO just released version 3 of the NIK collection. There is a new plugin, Perspective Efex, which can correct perspective errors / problems. It is marked as "unknown" in the Affinity Photo plugin list, and in fact, it does not work, as the plugin declares itself. It tells me, that the plugin resizes the image, which is not supported by the host application (Affinity Photo). Do you think, you can make this new plugin work in the future?
  5. Hi all, I'm wondering, how to use the HDR Efex Pro 2 Plugin from the DxO NIK Collection 2.5 in Affinity Photo 1.8 correctly. When opening 3 images in Affinity, only the "active" image is transferred to the HDR Efex Pro 2 Plugin, but with only 1 photo, you can't generate any HDR content. So do I have to use the stand-alone-program of HDR Efex Pro 2? Or how would be the correct way, so Affinity transfers all 3 (or 5 / 7) images into HDR Efex Pro 2 in order to then generate a HDR image, which is then transferred back into Affinity Photo? Maybe someone here has a hint for me... Another question would be, if I really should use the JPeg image or rather the RAW file... Thank you!
  6. The new version of NIK shows it is compatible with Affinity Photo, but unfortunately it is not showing up after an install. Do I have to install the new version the same way the free one is installed? Or is the old version the only way to use the NIK Collection with Affinity Photo? Thank you.
  7. Hi, i added the new NiK collection by DXO to my affinity and it's not working, it keeps loading with no progress till i force shutdown affinity. Is there any solution for that matter? i followed the steps in the below link for adding it https://youtu.be/D7kRQTMI1Nw
  8. I'm evaluating Affinity Photo in a work flow that uses DxO PhotoLab to apply lens as well as basic colour & exposure corrections. When I export from DxO into Affinity, photos look significantly different. Is there something I'm overlooking? Can someone please suggest how I can carry forward all of the work done in DxO before I begin more detailed work in Affinity Photo? Thanks.
  9. Hi, I would like to know if Affinity photo is going to make the Nix collection work properly in the program. I have just read that Dxo have purchased the collection from Google and intend to relaunch it sometime in 2018. I use the Nix collection and find it very good, but in some of the add ons we suffer from colour cast so you have to keep coming out to see how our adjustments have worked. I will defiantly want to get the updated version when it gets realised, even if it has to be paid for. I do hope Affinity. has plans to make it work properly, as not to would be a very short sighted move. Nix has many adjustments that Affinity hasn't and is a very useful add on to have. Mikep
  10. Trying to see if I can make the switch from PS (which I use only for content aware and access to filters). I've managed to get Nik filters working within Affinity, but I'd rather like to get my DXO filters also working. Any ideas please?
  11. In my preferences (v. 1.4.1), I have UNchecked "convert opened files to working space". (Importing a 16-bit Beta RGB TIFF (doesn't matter what file type or from where) exported from DxO Optics Pro, I get automatically converted to sRGB. I also get the dialog pop-up telling me it converted to sRGB because the imported file is unprofiled.) CORRECTION: If sRGB is imported into Affinity, I get the dialog popup telling me sRGB was automatically assigned because the file had no profile. If Beta RGB, or other, is imported, for instance, no conversion takes place (I assume) and I'll be working in Beta RGB space. Correct? Can you clear this up? Thank you.
