  1. Adding the ability to export document presets would be extremely helpful for environments that use multiple installations of Affinity apps. To clarify to what I am referring here is a pic:
  2. Hello! Is there a way to export/import document presets? To clarify exactly which presets I am referring to, below is a pic. I know that APub stores such things under the user profile, but cannot find a location where these particular custom presets are stored. Thanks, Chris
  3. Hello, I couldn't find a way to "expand" the embedded and cropped document. the goal is, i.e., I have placed a document that has vector only, then I cropped it using vector crop tool. now for the manufacturing purpose (it can be laser printing etc.) I don't want program to rasterise it if I export the file as PDF. so I want to expand or convert this piece of vector document to actual curves layer. I know the way to get inside to the document and cut vector curve(s), then paste it back to actual document. but for my situation it is not possible because until my client says "it is final" I cannot use this method because I do adjustments on that specific embedded document. So I think I am requesting a feature for the vector crop tool or embedded document layer that expands or converts that cropped layer. or If you say that exporting as PDF automatically does what I want then this is really good. I am using designer 2.1.1
  4. Currently to create a new document using the contents of the clipboard, one has to press CTRL+Alt+Shift+N. While this shortcut is functional, it is quite long and can be cumbersome to use. Additionally changing this shortcut may result in overriding another important function. I would like to propose a more convenient method for creating new documents from the clipboard. I suggest that when no documents are currently active, pressing CTRL+V should directly create a new document using the clipboard contents. This would make the process more intuitive and easier to perform. Example Copy image to clipboard. Open Affinity Designer/Publisher/Photo. Press CTRL+V.
  5. A purely cosmetic bug, but document icons have a black border around them. It seems like the black area should be transparent, but instead is black. Happens in all Affinity apps. They are installed from the Microsoft Store, that bit of info might help track it down. Also, a better file description beyond "AFDESIGN File" would be nice. Thanks!
  6. Jut installed Affinity Publisher v2 as trial and started a new document, 8"x10" 150 pages, as a test and then File > Place... , open the files dialog and no .doc documents where visible in the list. I selected all the options to no avail. (Screen capture 1). Then I write the file in the file name of the Place files dialog and it throw me an error. Apparently Affinity Publisher do not imports(Places) Word files. Is that an error? or it needs the full version to work or what happened? (Affinity Photo and Designer are not installed yet.) Thanks for any help.
  7. I have a document of a certain dimension - photo album. I decided to shrink it a bit to fit a printer's capabilities to print photo books. The process is easy - I "anchor to page" then "Rescale" "All Spreads. The document pages all shrink to the proper size and all objects are also shrunk down to accommodate the settings. Then I follow up with rescaling the Masters too. In my case, all of my text boxes' text are "controlled" by Text Styles. Upon examining the text boxes, I see that the text has automatically shrunk from 14 points to 13.2 points. This is good and what I expected. Then I checked the Text Style (still) associated with that text and it is still set to 14 points. I do not know the intent here, but it would seem that there *should* be an option during the Rescale to have controlling Text Styles optionally ALSO change to match the final text in the document itself (and, are there other features that should be made to be in sync in a similar vein too?). You can imagine the difficulty of manually having to go through all the text styles to change their Font size to match the now rescaled document text. I have not been able to come up with a rationale for keeping the Text Style font sizes as they were before the rescale was done. Thanks for some enlightenment on this issue.
  8. Greetings, I have come simply to ask these two questions regarding the Windows 10 system. 1. Is it by any chance possible to disable floating windows? Trying to move them in the order that suits one better is starting to get quite difficult when the windows pop out non-stop. And if it isn't a possibility, please add it to the system. 2. I have heard of mac/ipad capabilities to import/export document setup, I use Designer most of the time where I create a bunch of new presets but once I come over to Photo I realise that they aren't saved over there as well. Any way to transfer them over on Windows?
  9. As the title describes, I have a document that crashes whenever I try to interact with a specific page. I initially noticed a stray element, which was technically "off-canvas" and quite large. I tried to navigate to the page to delete the offending element and the application crashed. This behaviour seems to be consistent on both macOS and Windows. Now I cannot do anything to the page: If I try and select an elements on the page - it crashes If I try an make the page the active page - it crashes If I try to delete it - it crashes If I try to delete the page before it - it crash If I use the resource manager to locate the element on the page - it crashes I tried to open the document up in Affinity Designer, but there is now way to change the active page (consider adding this feature to desktop). I used the iPad version which can cycle through pages and it also crashes when I get to the offending page. The only way to salvage my document was to select (in the pages panel) the page before it, it and the page after it - and delete all 3 pages at the same time. Obviously this is not ideal, because I had to redo work that was already done. I would like to provide the document to a moderator review, perhaps we can squash this bug.
  10. Hello, is this possible to fix this photos with Affinity Photo to be easier for reading and printing ( especially that ). Main goals: Make background paper white Make text contrast Remove shadow - all background to be close to white or white. I know that sample resolution is very low which complicates this task. Thanks for help
  11. I am using the latest version of Affinity Publisher downloaded yesterday, but this is a problem that I have been wrestling with for some time. At the moment I have a Publisher document for the WEB that has pages measuring 1600px wide X 1200px in landscape. I want to add a number of pages that are 1600px wide X 2400px. Whatever I do, the settings just will not take ? What am I missing or doing wrong ?
  12. I always struggle to figure out the height and width when resizing a document. It'd be great if there are some sort of indicators for the height and width.
  13. Designer 1.9.2.1035 on Windows 10. When a document is resized with “Anchor To Page” set, and a layer is selected, once the document is resized the selected layer’s boundary box isn’t where it would be expected to be. See attached video. Not a major problem but probably needs looking into. 2021-06-25 09-18-49.mp4
  14. Hello everyone, sometimes I really like to switch to the vector viewmode not only for a better workflow, but also to see "the magic" behind my designs. Now I wonder if there´s a way to export the design in the vector viewmode as a non-vector document type like e.g. JPEG. So the end-result I´d like to have would show the countures/vectores only. The only way I see to do this is to remove the fillings and color all the countures the same and add some thickness to them. Is there another? A way to directly export in a specific viewmode?
  15. I am trying to print various images / photo's from Affinity Photo using a Canon Pro 1000 printer and for some strange reason all attempts have resulted in the image displaced e.g. not centred. The margins are all set up & look good & even in soft proofing but the A2 printed image is offset to one side (rt.) approx. 2→5mm in both portrait & landscape. When editing / printing using the Canon software then the photos don't have this issue. I've noticed other posts on here that have similar issues but I've not discovered a solution. If anyone is able to advise me as to what is amiss that would be great as not being able to produce a correctly positioned photo kind of defeats the whole purpose of my purchase.
  16. It's more convenient if Affinity Photo would register a copied image size and open a default New Document preset for this exact image. It also saves time and eliminates additional work. For example: You copy an image 850x850px, press command N and Affinity opens a new document for you which is exactly 850x850px, with the same resolution as the previously copied image.
  17. Hi, The new document window is too big. I would like to know how to resize it. Thank you
  18. I would like to request to add an option to merge/stitch documents or drawings to Panorama feature. Panorama works with photographs but doesn't work well with documents or drawings. (Unintended modification or distortion happens sometimes)

  20. Hello, I'm getting this error message whenever I am trying to save a document in Designer as .afdesign. I then click "Close" and the document shuts down. It saves the document as a .afdesign file I re-open it The file is corrupt Designer sort of freezes Troubleshooting: Re-installed Designer Shut down the program I am pretty sure I restarted my PC, but not 100% The problem about this It's super annoying that i can't re-open files I have to re-open Designer each time Does it happen 100% of the time? Well, yes. It did it ca. twice and then it worked again and now it's everytime. Please help me Thanks in advance - Vitus
  21. Hello, This suggestion is related to this one but also kinda different. I noticed the color picker tool, when configured as "Average (*x*)", will only return the average color when the cursor is inside the document/canvas. When outside, it will return the color of the pixel the mouse pointer is above, and not the actual average color of the zone. It would be nice if the tool could return the average color of the zone, no matter its location (inside/outside the document/canvas, inside/outside the program, whatever the monitor # the cursor is in, etc.). For example, when selecting the color picker tool in average mode and pointing to a 2nd monitor / another window / outside Affinity Designer/Photo, it should return the actual color average.
  22. Hi, I recently bought affinity designer and I'm still learning the shortcuts. But something I really miss from using other editors is being able to duplicate the document you're editing onto a new one. I've looked on the forums for a way to do that but I've found nothing. Is there a way to duplicate the page you're editing onto a new document instead of opening a new document and copy;pasting the contents?
  23. Is there a way to disable the floating for specific tabs in the first place? More specifically the document tabs. While painting I find myself accidentally pressing the document tab and dragging it instead instead of creating a brush stroke! It breaks the flow.
  24. This may not be a bug, per se, but it seems very odd to have seen the warning message (attached). AFPUB 1.8.3; Mac OS X 10.15.3 I was editing and saving a document as I went. I had also saved sequential versions as I edited (to see if any problems arose). I keyed Command + S to "save" the file, did some more edits and keyed Command + S again and got this warning message. I should not have gotten that type of message as there is no other instance of AFPUB or any other process (including Design and Photo) that would access the document in question. That is to say there could be no reason (except bugs IMHO) that the message should have popped up. I did perform a "save as" as the message suggested.
  25. I add a new photo AP. I go to Color, Swatches,, and Add Document Palette, nothing happens. Am I wrong to suggest the colors from the open photo would be added as swatches? If wrong, how can you obtain photo colors to add to swatches, other then color picker one by one.
