  1. Just came across an interesting challenge: I was trying to warp an object that was positioned almost diagonal (about 35º). This emerged as a challenge for the current warp system (or quite possibly my understanding and use of it): it's exclusively aimed at horizontal and vertical warping. When you set warp points, they form a grid that has a mainly horizontal and vertical focus which meant fudging to get the distortion I was looking for. Instead of being able to rotate the warp grid basis and just tweak what I wanted, I had to rotate the image first, warp what I wanted and then rotate it back. I know that warping and mesh are mainly aimed at perspective corrections (hence the horizontal/vertical focus), but adding some form of rotation of that base orientation could offer interesting new possibilities. (and yes, I'd love to see this in AD too, but one thing at a time ;) ).
  2. Hi, I am trying to find a tutorial which might help me with improving or removing curved distortion in architecture images taken with a wide angle lens or composed with assembling several images as a panorama. Does one exist? Thanks.
  3. I have been unable to find any way of achieving cylindrical distortion of a layer except by painstaking hand tweaking of the Mesh Warp Tool. Am I missing something here? Does it exist somewhere unexpected, or has anyone a good work around? Feature requests have been locked for some time but it does seem to me that to adapt the Spherical Distort filter to distort in one axis only would not be too onerous as the geometrical distortion itself is the same but with one axis turned off. As I grow in confidence with Affinity Photo and it goes on getting better the competition gets less and less significant to my workflow. This is a great app! So it is rather frustrating to have to port across and back for something so simple and basic. Any suggestions? David Mac
  4. Forgive me if this is already posted somewhere but I didn't see it. ACR shows automatic adjustments for different lenses and it automatically tracks what lens was used. In AP, when processing RAW images, I see the lens adjustments but from what I can tell its just all manually controlled via sliders. Am I missing any preset adjustments for various Canon L series lenses? Thank you!
  5. This is my second full image produced with Photo. Once again it is quite simple and, once again, it is focused on familiarising myself with a small set of specific tools. My previous image (the egg) focused on pen and brushes. This image focuses on vector shapes, boolean operations, fills and mesh warping. The snake was created from the rectangular texture shown in the inset above. I used the wonderful Mesh Warp Tool. This is an amazing tool!! The ability to define where you put the mesh grid yourself is just terrific. Whoever developed this gets my five star award ...... so if someone from Serif is reading this please pass this on to them. :) I also played with the Deform Filter but failed utterly to comprehend its workings and got hopelessly lost. So I shall have to hope that there is a tutorial on this later. This really is a great app! :) :)
  6. Could you make it possible to apply perspective distortion (not only skewing) to an embedded document? When I apply perspective distortion it converts the embedded file into a normal PNG or what so ever normal placed file. Would this be possible, sort of low hanging fruit? ;) Peace (y)
