  1. Just curious if anyone can shed some light on why the same color look so different in Affinity vs other places such as our organization's website or in Microsoft Word. The color in Affinity has the exact same RGB value, but looks significantly different. Is there a way to make it look the same? Or at least close to similar? What's the best way to reconcile this? I created a logo earlier using the rgb color values from our website, but it looks so drastically different I am not able to use it yet. I've attached photos of the green color we are using. The first is from Affinity, the second is from our website and the third is from Microsoft Word. *****EDIT******* I think I figured it out. My color profile was set to "Created by Microsoft WCS..." I switched to sRGB and everything matches up correctly now. I still don't know what the created by Microsoft WCS options mean, so if someone want to explain that to me I would greatly appreciate it!
  2. This applies to both Designer & Photo. It would be more efficient when working with fonts if the drop-down display window was longer to display more fonts at any given moment. It might be worth considering the ability for the user to drag & drop extend the lower boundary of the font display panel to suite. Thanks.
  3. Hello everyone! I'd like to request a feature: When selecting View -> Toggle UI, all of the UI will be hidden, which can be really great. The only problem that I am running into sometimes: I don't know which tool I have currently selected. Could you please include an option to let the user show the tools window even when "Toogle UI" hides all the other UI? Or maybe even better: Just show the one icon of the tool that is currently selected. The confusion especially happens when you have to cycle through tools. For example, for the "Pixel tool", you have to press B twice for "Colour Replacement Brush Tool" three times and for "Smudge Brush Tool" four times. Personally, I run into this especially when I don't know which tool is currently selected. For example, the eraser (E) is selected, but I think the brush (B) is selected. Then, I press E to select the eraser. Then it doesn't select the eraser, but rather the background eraser. Best wishes, Shu
  4. hi after loading a series of pictures either with "cmd O" or "media browser" they are displayed only as filenames. now i could barely live with this. but the files are in complete disorder. the pics in the source are organized after date and file name. why are they in aphoto not sorted? how can i sort them? thanks a lot.
  5. This is of the order of not being able to find the "on" switch but I cannot get the eraser brush to display on the tool bar. Otherwise very comfortable to use so far and there is a nice consistency of architecture. The main problem is shaking off Photoshop habits. David Hogg.
  6. What on Earth just happened? My display is suddenly twisted! Is this a bug or a feature? How do I get it back to normal?
  7. Great app! Keep up the good work! Here are a few issues I've found 1. When creating a single View Point you cannot go to that View Point from either the drop down list nor a short cut key. It would also be nice when going to View Points using short cut keys to wrap around to the first or last View Point when the end or the start of the list is reached (or have a new command that would do this). 2. When dragging the bottom scroll bar back or forth, the document scrolls up each time. 3. The View > Zoom to Fit leaves too much blank space. Example: I create a document that is my current screen size of 2560 x 1440 px. On my 32 inch monitor the Zoom to Fit sets the zoom level to 49%. If I manually adjust the zoom level to fit the document, the zoom level is 54%. This leaves 1 inch on Both the left and right sides and 3/4 inch on Both the top and bottom of the screen, which is a lot of empty real estate. In addition it would be great to have this command, along with all of the View menu commands, be options that can be added to the customize tool bar.
  8. Hi Since Beta 1.3.5.7 I sometimes see a thin white line at the borders of my pictures. It happens for the vertical pictures when I open them, for some of the other formats when I zoom them larger. I can learn to ignore them; it might have to do with my Preferences settings, which I want on Bilinear. Letting you know because it's not happening in AP 1.3.5 (released), where I have the same settings in Preferences - Performance.
  9. Hi there, searched the forum for a similar issue, nothing found. I opened an AI file in AD and the Czech CE character (š, ě, ť, č, ř and so on) do not display - the see attached screen shot. In any other program running on my Mac never had and have any problems like that. To be sure, I tried to type these characters in a completely new document - with the same result. I appreciate any ideas, how to solve this or identify its cause.
  10. I don't know what happened, but I left Affinity Photo open and put my iMac to sleep last night and this morning when I switched to AP and noticed that the left side Tools were missing. When I click the View menu, I see a checkmark to the left of "Show Tools." Toggling that does nothing except expand or contract the left sidebar by 1cm or so. Quitting and relaunching AP does nothing to solve the problem either. The Toolbar shows just fine, and I can toggle that just fine. It's only the TOOLS that display at left which won't show anymore. Choosing "Customize Tools..." expands or contracts the black space at left by about 8cm or so but otherwise shows nothing when I toggle it. This seems like a bug, but since I could be doing something wrong and since I have no steps to repeat this bug I am writing this QUESTION today. I guess the only way to resolve this problem would be to reset all preferences to defaults or otherwise reset AP, but how do I accomplish that? Thanks. UPDATE: Solving my own question (although the cause of this anomaly is still a mystery), I clicked Preferences > Miscellaneous > Reset XXX on all 5 buttons and then relaunched AP. To my delight the Tools now display at left. Very odd but glad to see there's an easy fix. If I can find a way to repeat this bug I will of course report it in the Bugs forum.
  11. Hey guys, an important observation: when in outline view, regular editable text is displayed as outlines. This is hopefully an oversight, definitely not a ideal in a production environment. Editable text should be displayed as solid black text, or another non-outline style — outlines should only be used for text when the Convert to Outlines command has been applied to it — for the following reason: oftentimes, we provide files with all fonts converted to outlines. The easiest way to check whether a file's text has already been converted to outlines is, believe it or not, switching to Outline View! The way in which AD currently behaves, there is no way to know if text is converted to outlines or not... Thanks for all you do. I hope this can make it on the next beta!
