I've been trying to get to grips with the basics of Affinity Designer. One thing I can't find - (does it exist?) - is the ability to replicate an object one or more times to form a spaced out sequence separated by a fixed distance. For example, I might want to create a square 1 cm wide and then copy it and move the copy to the right 1.5 cm to leave a 0.5 cm gap between the two squares. Then I might want to repeat this process in the horizontal direction to produce 10 squares in a row. After that I might want to replicate the whole row of squares and copy it down 2.5 cm and shift it 0.2 cm to the right. Finally I might want to replicate the two lines of squares multiple times down the work space. I have used other graphic or drawing tools which allow this, and make it very quick and easy to produce such organised structures of objects, but so far after watching several beginner level tutorials and looking in the AD book I've not found a feature like this in AD. If it's possible I'd like to know how to do it, and if it's not possible (yet) I'd like to suggest this as a feature request. What would also be very nice would be the ability to lay out the objects in a pattern as I've suggested, but then to be able to change the base object, So one could then obtain a pattern of circles, a pattern of gingerbread men etc. Maybe that's going too far, but it's just a suggestion. In programming terms it would be like using a higher order function fo space out the objects, and then being able to specify the object to be worked on by the higher order function.

OK I am able to type text on path. All fine and good. My problem is the direction of the text on the path. When I type I would like the text to flow from left to right and at moment its going in the opposite direction as noted by the image I have attached... I imagine I will feel silly when someone explains what it is that I have done.

Hi guys, I'm using Affinity Photo for Windows and can't seem to find how to adjust the direction of a gradient stroke added to text, all I'm presented with is the attached? The Fill isn't a problem as that's controlled by clicking the Gradient icon. Thanks in advance Neil

Hello, everybody, I'm curious when the radial gradient direction & distance features will be coming to AD. This is a feature I use of Illustrator's gradient tool all the time. I've attached examples of the tool's results, for those reading this who are unfamiliar with the effect. In Adobe's UI, the feature is implemented via the software's Gradient Annotator, either by dragging the small dot just past a radial/elliptical gradient's origin, or by clicking with the gradient tool on a radial gradient, somewhere away from the Gradient Annotator. Anyway, especially for applying realistic lighting effects to rounded objects, this feature simply is a must-have. In the mean time, anybody who knows an AD-native technique for applying (a reasonable facsimile of) such an effect in AD, I'd be happy to hear your suggestions. Until then, I'm going to be ⌘-tabbing a lot, in order to make and mask raster fills when I'd really rather be using vector. Thanks in advance! —Russ Johnson Murfreesboro, TN

Would like to be able to zoom the other way around on the mouse wheel. I have all my other design apps setup the other way around, but can't seem to do that with this one.
