  1. Curious about the ETA of updates to the serif supported cameras and lenses. Will there be support for the Sony A7R III and the GM lenses any time soon? Just wondering because even though Apple supports the above, not very complex. A question also, is it because you don't have enough images to work on?
  2. In the portrait tutorial here made by Affinity, we see that the editor doesn't do much editing within the RAW develop persona. Is this a matter of personal preference or rather a good editing workflow? And as a follow-up, does applying something like shadow recovery in the Develop persona perform any better or worse than the shadow recovery layer in the Photo persona?
  3. Ehy guys, yesterday I needed and probably will need in the future the ability to rotate RAW images in develop persona since Windows itself isn't able to do it. Rotating via the crop tool context toolbar is very difficult so it'd be nice to have the facility I've written above.
  4. I have been using AP for 2 years.when i imported raw images shot on Nikon D800 to develop, they looked bit dull but not that bad.Now i have Nikon D850 and the images look ok in camera and Affinity photo for ipad but look awful in develop persona on Mac.Also I was surprised at the auto white balance readings and thought the camera did a bad job.last night downloaded free trial of Photoshop cc and images look fine there in camera raw and also the white balance readings are totally different, more likely expected.I am attaching the screenshot of develop in AP and camera raw.check the WB readings in both. Now please can someone help me sort this issue if its fixable Thank you in advance Charles
  5. Hello ! My normal develop persona work flow for the Mac desktop version of Affinity Photo is to use the selection brush as a new later and "snap to edges" for a clean selection. Ie if I shoot backlit portraits I will select the subject in a new layer in the develop persona and work on that alone without touching the background. For the life of me, I cannot find an option to snap to edges for the selection brush in the iPad version of Photo. Is this not an option?
  6. It should be possible to apply the same settings of the develop persona when importing a set of RAW images. Saving the settings, loading the photos one-by-one and loading the settings every time is too time consuming. In Photoshop Elements this is no problem! Please refer to this thread:
  7. Every time I try to develop a raw file in Affinity Photo the standard result is always opaque and desaturated while from MAc preview the pictures is ok and quite realist for tone and saturation. I take pictures in my "studio", manual setting and adjusting white balance with a grey card. I attach the 2 examples Am I doing something wrong?
  8. Lets say I want to develop 5 RAW files. They require all the same develop settings like white balance, curve adjustment, pre sharpening and lens corrections, to mention just a few. Is there an easy way or do I have to make 4 separate presets in the Basic, Tones, Detail and Lens tab?
  9. Hi All, I am hoping I am not just an idiot and missing something entirely simple. When I use the "Selection Brush", Windows, Photo 1.6.4.104 It does not select what I tell it to select and in NO WAY snaps to edges. On screenshot attached I have used the selection brush by dragging around the model, but as you can see all it generally does is select exactly what I went over. I have tried to modify brush size. Using faster / slower brush strokes. Limiting strokes to just her skin tone. And finally, used similar images that are less blurry. Nothing seems to get the selection brush working. What am I doing wrong here?
  10. When using RAW images as a source for HDR, Panorama, Focus Merging, it shoud be possible to adjust the settings of Develop Persona. Currently the photos are imported without being able to do this. Please also refer to the threads above.
  11. Hi, Yesterday, I have installed the update of Affinity Photo, ver. 1.6.7, on my Mac and wanted to try out the develop persona which should have been evolved. Unfortunately, when I tried to erase an gradient overlay, this did not work and still does not. Is there anyone having the same problem or - which would be better - has anyone a solution for me? Many thanks in advance :-)
  12. Hello, I miss option to move/shift image in lens correction options of develop persona. When I fix rotation and vertical or horizontal distortions, I want to scale image up as less as possible to remove empty areas caused by corrections. And when I scale the image, it can't be moved relative to canvas. Something like shift-x, shift-y would be nice to have. Miro
  13. Hi, I love the software, but miss some crutches I often use in other software. I think it would be convenient to have a few preset white balance settings in a drop down menu in develop persona. E.g. As shot - Sunny - cloudy - shade etc. that usually helps in finding a good starting point for wb. I guess it would be great if demanding individual users could tweak these to account for their specific cameras, but for me that doesn't seem necessary. At least, rawtherapee works for me perfectly this way. Thanks. Wouter
  14. Im currently working on and iMac with 3.06 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo with 12 GB of Ram, Mountain Lion. Loading, developing and editing Raw files seems to take longer it should. Is there a way to smooth out the process with ram usage in the preference menu? I tried messing around with it but no result, Tone mapping and HDR seems to be a really slow process as well
  15. In Develop Persona, after cropping and exiting back to 'View Tool' mode (cursor is now a hand shape), why is the 'Crop Tool' button still depressed on the left vertical tool bar?
  16. Hi. Firstly: thanks a lot for this very promising, fast, affordable, non-subscription application! I have purchased Designer for Windows already. Now for Affinity Photo on Windows Beta 1.5.0.39 (German): 1. Opened .RW2 file in Develop Persona 2. Applied chromatic aberration 3. Then use de-noise: when I move any of the sliders a message at the center of the photo window appears, telling me "chromatic aberration" and blocks the sliders. When this message goes away I can work the slider again. As soon as I move it again the message reappears. It seems as if chromatic aberration is called whenever a change to one of the sliders is applied. This same message appears again about 10 secs after initially moving any of the sliders. 4. Then I realised CPU load is very high for AFPhoto for over 20 seconds (Core i5-6500, 16GB RAM, SSD and HDD, system is fast and stable) 5. This is an issue which did not occur in 1.5.0.38 Thank you. Daniel
  17. Hi, I see that I individual presets for Basic, Lens, Details, and Tones can be saved. I wonder if there is some way to save a single preset for all of them. Thanks!
  18. Please see attached video. After opening any slider's type-in menu in develop persona, i) close button doesn't work and reset the entered value the only way to get out is to select one of the preselection (9, 25, 50...) ii) tapping anywhere outside the slider's type-in menu but within the studio hides the panel e.g. clicking on the clarity label hides the panel iPad Pro 9.7", iOS Public Beta 7, Photo beta v1.6.5.59 24827172-9EC7-4F14-AE6A-B00BDB61D78D.MP4
  19. I have a problem by using the Shadow and Highlight sliders of the Develop Persona. Please compare the two results. The only thing I tweaked have been the Highlight slider to -100% and the Shadow slider to +100%. All other switches set to OFF/Unchecked, in Camera Raw and also in Develop Persona. The only exception was the usage of the Camera Colour Profile "Neutral" the RAW file offers (not available in Develop Persona), but this only affects subtle the colours. Camera Raw also applied the automatic lens correction profile, which is also not recognised by Develop Persona. Everything else was disabled (sharpening, denoise, etc.). Please see attached results. The one on Develop Persona is unfortunately much worse than the one of Camera Raw/Lightroom. I also attach the RAW file. I am very keen on your reply to this, and I really appreciate in advance. Hey guys, there is a problem on upload of Lightroom/Camera Raw generated JPGs to Affinity Forum sites, this error only occurs if I want to upload the Adobe generated JPG sample: Best regards, Roland RAW File: DSC00644.ARW Camera Raw Output attached as Zip: DSC00644-CameraRaw.jpg.zip
  20. When working in the Develop Persona, I would like the image of a distant bird to fill the screen. I have always used Crop in Apple Photos to accomplish this. In AP, what would be the difference between Scale or Crop to accomplish this?
  21. Hi, Would it be possible to shed some light on this for me. When I load a sequence of files (not Batch Processing) ....e.g. SR_3122, SR_3123, SR_3124, SR_3125, SR_3126 into the interface to Develop, having 5 files open, the files are not displayed in order. Instead of being in numerical order from left to right across the interface, it seems to be random, first file on the left would be say SR_3123, then SR_3126, SR_3124, then SR_3122 and SR_3125. Many Thanks Simon R
  22. In Develop Persona, when using Split Screen in the Details Studio the image is larger in the After side than in the Before size. For me, this makes it harder to evaluate subtle changes. Is this an oversight or am I missing some advantage to the size difference?
  23. When I develop two or more RAW images for a panorama or stereo pair, I find it useful to save the basic parameters from the first as a preset, so that the other image(s) are developed the same. I find that the white balance is NOT saved, and has to be set manually. All the other parameters are saved correctly, as far as I can see. I'm running version 1.5.1.54 on a Toshiba Satellite laptop running Windows 7.
  24. Developping Raw Files, AP 1.5.2.69 very often does not recognize camera data and subsequently will not perform lens correction. In Raw persona as well as in tone mapping persona (new HDR stack..) the display shows 0 or "no camera data" text instead of lens name when opening GH-4 Raw file(s). This behaviour seems to change from time to time without notice. But in spite of investigating that for a while I could not find a reason behind that so far. The only thing I can tell is, that the same Raw files opened with Photoshop CS 6 do not show any innormal behaviour and lens data are always displayed in correct manner. The same is valid for ACDSee Ultimate 10. Please advice what I could try to improve that disturbing behaviour. Edit: On Windows 10 notebook the problem seems not to happen. Best regards
