Designer beta 1.9.0.834, Windows 10 I insert a jpeg picture and sweep across it with the transparency tool (linear). Nothing happens. If I do the same in Publisher beta or Designer 1.8.5.703, I get a transparency gradient. If, after sweeping the jpeg image with the transparency tool, I rasterise it, the gradient appears but the 'Type' field in the context toolbar is greyed out.

I will explain thats trouble again, example, I use a brush and change the width brush, afterwards we change other brush, and I need reuse previous brush, and what happen previous brush width reset again to default, thats waste my time for change brush again n again n make me tired, and Im being chased by a client order deadline... Thats can fix it with brush on the pop up window brush - editing and change width there, But if we want make a illustration which uses a lot brush, thats so tired wasted time too, please fix it on next path Affinity Designer and Photo,, its really2 annoying for me 😡 T_T, Its look insignificant , but thats so fatal for illustration maker who use brush. Designer Beta 1.8.3.628 I drag the Layers panel from the studio group until its tab is level with drawing tabs and it docks there. However, unlike when the panel is part of the studio group, when I double click on the Layers tab, its panel doesn't collapse. Should it?

Hi, I'm not sure if it's a bug, but shouldn't Grid and Axis proprieties be saved in the file? I was working on a file in Designer, using a preset I created. Since I downloaded the new Bêta, I thought I would continue working in the new app: but there's no more Grid and Axis presets than the basic ones. I expected the new grid (and used grid in this document) to be saved in the file and to be able to keep on working with it on the new app. I didn't tested if it's the same when opening the file on another computer, but it would be usefull if it was a file properties, not only an app's one, so we could keep on working/modifying an illustration created with a special preset.

I have made in Photo Beta a part of a picture a gradient in a rectangle to get a different color. Then as afphoto file placed in Publisher it doesn't show the the gradient. To be sure of correct use of the tools I exported it as an PNG, and then the gradient is clearly visible. Replacing file is not giving any result. transparency-gradient.afpub

Hi, This affect AD bêta, AP bêta and APub: When selecting for example a Pantone colour, a new document palette is automatically created with the name "Document", and the colour is added to this new palette. (We need to select again the Pantone palette to select other colours). When selecting/using other Pantone colour, those colours aren't added automatically (as the first one, or as in AD 1.6) to the document palette. We need to add them manually. If the palette "Document" is renamed, and we select another Pantone, a "new/second" Document palette is created and the colour is automatically added to this palette, as in first step. It's strange to be able to have more than one document palette. It would be better if we could merge them, or if importing another document palette would ask to add colours to the current document palette.

Congratulations on releasing Designer for iPad. I am surprised there was no beta. There was one for photo which I participated in. If in future there is a beta for Designer I would like to participate Meantime I look forward to enjoying the newly released app!

Auto slicing layers not honouring pixel snapping. Some layers sliced to sub pixel alignments even though the layer is snapped to full pixel alignment and has a whole pixel size boundary. Some layers, this is not a problem, and the layer is sliced correctly. Slicing some layers exports to the entire image size that has been cropped/clipped. example. An image of 1000x2000 is clipped/cropped to 500x500 Slicing either manually or by auto layer slicing that is showing 500x500 actually exports as 1000x2000 Sometimes slicing works, sometimes it does not. In either case, export persona is showing some serious issues.

I am working through the Affinity Designer Workbook and am using the beta version of Designer (1.6.0, beta 7) because it's so much easier to be able to see file names, etc. on the light background. I just completed the Lace Frame exercises and tried to export my files to PDFs as indicated on page 358 of the workbook. I was able to export the Lace Frame Poster as both a low resolution and a high resolution file. But when I tried to export the Table Card, I got a blank document for the low resolution export except for printer marks which I hadn't asked for. For the high resolution export, I also got a blank document except for printer marks which, in this case, I had asked for. This appears to be a bug. I tried opening my file in the non beta version of Designer to see if I would have the same issue but was unable to do so because it had been created on a later version of Designer.
