Hello Affinity, I would like to give you my money NOW. I really don't want to pay Sketch or Figma or inVision or Adobe XD or Framer X or Protopie or Webflow or UX Pin. I would love to buy a software from Affinity that enables the prototyping feature. Maybe a merge between Personas with added plugin to buy. OR maybe call the software Affinity Prototype or Affinity Interactive or Affinity Hybrid. I have been creating lots of Websites and User Interfaces, but I can't quickly prototype it to get my idea across. I have been working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team of 50 designers/developers/business analysts. And when it's time for me to pitch I have to manually go into my Visual Studio Code Editor and create it from scratch using CSS and JavaScript. Still waiting for release date, Thank you

Hello affinity designers ,1- will be there a (shape builder) tool in affinity designer like illustrator ? I cant do any type of golden ratio designes (even with the (devid) then delete) if will there be this tool in future please tell me when becaus i cant do my designes and i think alot of designers are the same 😞 please add it asap 2- when can i export AI files in affinity ? Becaus clients need that always , if you can do these things affinity will be a great tool and it will be my main and i think alot of designers will do the same !! So please if you can tell me when will you do that becaus uptil now i cant design and deal with clients , so i have to use another apps which is realy expinsive but it is the only choice 😞 And thanks alot for your affort ❤ -
I was wondering if there could be a Affinity competition like the sadly now defunct Worth1000? Not just a showcase for artwork but something to bring out the best in us.

New drawing. I add a green rectangle and clip-copy it. File menu > New From Clipboard. The new drawing just shows a green rectangle, as expected. I place a red rectangle above the green one (bottom edge red to top edge green). I select both rectangles and then File menu > Export. I select the export area as 'Selection without background'. The export size tallies with the size in the Transform panel. The .jpg picture that's exported is the correct size but the red rectangle has been changed to white. What's happening? -
In DrawPlus, I create three rectangles, as shown below. I convert them to a picture and convert the picture to curves so I can add nodes to manipulate the shape. How do I do the same in Design?

Mac desktop apps. Running both up to date designer and photo. I read in the Affinity help sections that all Affinity files can be opened in any Affinity app. But when I go to open a afphoto file in afdesign half the layers are missing from the afphoto file. Back story I designed a vector logo in afphoto and just bought afdesign over Black Friday. But the logo is not importing 100% into afdesign. If I click and drag the missing layer from photo over to the design window, That won't work either. Any help thanks. MTN Logo Square 2020 Final.afphoto -
I just purchased the 7th generation ipad 10.2. capacity of 128GB. I plan to purchase affinity photo and designer for this tablet, but will this tablet be enough to run the progams?

In PagePlus, I insert a picture and convert it to curves. I draw a quick rectangle in the middle of the picture. I select the two. Arrange menu > Join Outlines > Subtract. The result is a rectangular hole in the middle of the picture. If I repeat the procedure in Design and then Geometry > Subtract, I get the rectangular hole but the picture is magnified.

I have a picture of an object I want to lift off the ground. In the example picture below, I want to get from the image on the left to that on the right. Using the Selection Brush, I can isolate the object (red) or the ground (green) and save either to a separate layer (Refine > Output >). However, when I save either red or green, I lose the other. Is there a way of saving both from the one selection process or another way of achieving the same end?

Good day, everyone! Just wanted to share my work made from Affinity Designer which is a combined ideas from the web and for the love of the calmness of felines. I wanted to print this in shirts since we are planning to have our own tshirt brand. Need your opinion to what file type is appropriate to keep its resolution. Would png be sufficient? Baffled. I Open a picture and it comes in on a locked Background (Pixel) layer. I Duplicate the layer. I Hide the original Background layer such that it's now locked and hidden. I deselect Edit All Layers. I select the duplicate layer and change to Pixel Persona. I add a Rectangular Marquee to the duplicate layer. I select the Move tool and Hide the duplicate layer. The Marquee outline remains visible and selected. I return to the original Background layer and make it visible. The Marquee outline remains visible and selected. I press the Delete key on my keyboard and the Marquee takes a rectangular chunk out of the locked background layer. What's happening?

I've always found it difficult to learn how to do something without the need to do it and since I don't have a specific need at the moment for many of Affinity's features, getting to grips with some of them is a slow process. One of the problems I have is 'why would I need that feature?'. Although I'm tackling Design at the moment, some of its features seem based on Photoshop, of which I've no experience. Affinity community, I currently use your vector program and I have had performance problems, that is, it is constantly in a state of shock and sometimes it closes completely, it bothers me a bit. I use Windows and the specifications of my computer are not bad; 16 GB of RAM, Nvidia graphics, disc SSD, so my only conclusion is that the root problem with the software. I would love to know how I can resolve or if there will be updates to correct soon. -
This morning I updated my IOS 13 beta... I then continued to work on a project in design... when I export the project as any of the options. Only part of the project is shown... the first pi shows how it appears as saved.. second pic is a screenshot of what it is to look like . I’m hoping that this is my error and not the IOS or Design error.. Im on an IPad IOS13 beta sorry if this is not the right forum

Hello, I'm unsure if this is the right forum (LinkedIn would probably provide more personalised feedback, but I would prefer a variety of opinions). I am a graduate, with a Bachelor's of Tourism and Hospitality and a GradDip of Marketing. I have no design experience but am naturally creative and enjoy art, illustration and editing. I've been looking at kickstarting my career and thought to learn some sort of design software - to increase my practical hard skills in the event management/digital area. So this leads me to my questions: Which software - if not all would be best for developing these skills? How accessible is Affinity for beginners? Is it worth investing my time - would this increase my employability? Any response would be greatly appreciated. -

Hi All, I am still new to Affinity range, so trying to learn new features and ways of working. In the older generation e.g. DrawPlus, PagePlus, I would have 2 canvas areas. There would be a White area that is the Document canvas space. Whatever is placed here would be active (within borders of document). Then there is a Grey area surrounding the Document canvas. I would often drag objects there for intermediary use, edit, copy and paste items and change things. I would save this along with the document. Of course there is the Assets panel, but these objects are not for my Assets panel. In the older generation I would see all my objects on Document canvas and outside. In the new generation e.g. Affinity Designer or Publisher, I can place objects in the Dark Grey surrounding the Document canvas space, BUT it is very difficult to see the objects in the Dark Grey area as objects seem "Invisible". Only if I guess where they are can I select them or hunt for them in the Layers panel. Is this intended? Did I miss something? Is there a way to do what I used to do in the older suite in the Affinity range? Or do I need to change my work of working for new Affinity range? Thanks in advance -
I'm very green when it comes to artistic design. I need some guidance/high-level steps/approaches. I can then go off and try to do them. I'm willing to put effort but I don't even know where to start. Right now I'm really clueless. I have Affinity Designer on my mac and I also have Affinity Photo on iPad. I'd prefer to do what I want on Designer. Here's what I want to do: I want to create a metallic/grungy text using one of the existing fonts like Garamond etc. Basically, the text would look like a nice movie poster font or a book cover font. I'm not looking to create a new font - I just want to use any existing font but make the text look awesome. I've purchased some nice high-res metallic and grunge backgrounds. So what I need to know is how do I type text, apply those textures to the text-fill, so the text looks like rusty, metallic. If I could put some cracks on the side that would be even more awesome but let me not get ahead of myself considering I'm struggling to even explain what I want, let alone having the talent to do it. I want the text to be vector so I can scale.
