  1. Hey so i’ve been using Affinity Designer on my Ipad pro (2018) for a long time now. Never had any problems until two days ago when the new update came out. Whatever i try to do, whichever file i open the app crashes after a few seconds rendering it completely unusable... As i do two design jobs using mostly AD, this is a huge problem now. Any tips on how i could solve this would be greatly appreciated. Before you ask, yes i tried resetting the ipad, it didn’t help, the problem seems to be with the new update...
  2. Hi, I have just updated to the newest version and now affinity photo ist crashing. I added an ellipse and then added the gaussian blur effect with manual input of 600. I have done this before with no problem. It is also shown on youtube in an Affinity revolution tutorial (How to Blend Two Images in Affinity Photo, Starting Minute 13). Now as soon as I add the blur (sometimes after I try to move the blurred ellipse) Affinity crashes. I tried to save after every step and now I can't open the image. It says "opening image" for hours with no effect. In this state I can't even close Affinity as it requires to wait until the image is loaded. After abt 2hours I forced it to close via task manager. Reinstalling the old version also does not work (newer version detected) and I want to avoid to deinstall Affinity completely and probably lose all my changes to the standard settings. any idea what to do?   3. We're aware of an issue where our apps can crash if you're using an Nvidia GPU and you have Capture One installed with Windows Explorer Integration enabled. We've reported the issue to Nvidia to be fixed but you can workaround this issue by: Changing the default Renderer in Preferences > Performance to a non Nvidia device or Disable Windows Explorer Integration in Capture One or rename the WIC64 folder in Capture One's installation folder in Program Files More information can be found here: https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/134369-nvwgf2umxdll-crashes/&do=findComment&comment=751664
  4. Hi, So I am new and I said I would trial Affinity products, unfortunately Publisher keeps crashing and wont start. I tried Reinstalling and Repairing. Still wont start. Wrote an email for support got directed here. Hope someone would help me resolve this as I would like to trial and see the capabilities before I purchase one. Regards, Francis
  5. I just updated to 1.9.1.979. It won't allow me to open jpg files, just sits saying it's loading and freezes, but doesn't generate crash report. It only opened a jpg once, and when I was using the flood select tool, it froze. On all occasions, I had to go into task manager to shut it down as I received the attached error and it wouldn't allow me to shut down.
  6. Are you using the latest release version? Yes Can you reproduce it? Unfortunately yes, it happens every time I try to open some of my affinity designer files. Does it happen for a new document? If not do you have a document you can share that shows the problem? Prefer not to share publically, because it is a client file. If you cannot provide a sample document then please give an accurate description of the problem for example it should include most of the following: What is your operating system and version? Windows 10 What happened for you (and what you expected to happen) Designer shuts down. It does not matter whether I double click the file, or open it with an already started designer. Provide a recipe for creating the problem (step-by-step what you did). Open File > Crash/Total shut down Screenshots (very handy) or a screen capture/video. N/A Any unusual hardware (like tablets or external monitors or drives that may affect things) or relevant other applications like font managers or display managers. N/A Did this same thing used to work and if so have you changed anything recently? N/A
  7. I had a very nasty crash yesterday while I tried to delete an asset category I had created but I did not need. The program froze and I had to force quit the app. After restarting the app ALL asset categories were deleted! This is a very nasty thing, especially if you use assets all the time. Assets seem buggy as whole atm, as things like creating asset categories and renaming them takes a lot of time. I hope you can adress this serious issue soon. I use the latest app store version of Designer on an iMac 2011 with High Sierra installed.
  8. I have encountered an issue in both Affinity Photo and Designer. Whenever I am using the pen tool to create shapes or masks etc. If I'm doing an object that has many points, the app crashes. There is no warning. The app does not grey out, nor does the dragbar say "not responding". I do not get a crash report form. I just disappears as if i had clicked the X button. I have had these apps for over a year and have been through several updates and am currently running v1.8.3.641 My system info: OS Name Microsoft Windows 10 Home Version 10.0.18362 Build 18362 System Type x64-based PC Processor AMD A10-7700K APU with Radeon(TM) R7 Graphics, 3800 Mhz, 2 Core(s), 4 Logical Processor(s) BIOS Version/Date American Megatrends Inc. P2.10, 1/17/2014 SMBIOS Version 2.7 Embedded Controller Version 255.255 BIOS Mode Legacy BaseBoard Manufacturer ASRock BaseBoard Product FM2A88X-ITX+ I'd sure love to get this sorted so i can get back to work Thanks Al PS would increasing the RAM usage setting under Preferences>Performance help? It came default at 8192M.
  9. I don't know what happened but I cannot work on AD 1.9 as it crashes very often when I paste simple objects from Illustrator and add them as symbols. When I start playing with the symbol, scale, rotate, change shape, sometimes I see glitches on screen, sometimes not, but suddenly AD quits. I don't know exactly what causes it, so I've attached the crash report. Hopefully it will be helpful. Regards AD-crash-report.txt
  10. Hi there Just installed Publisher on my Windows 10 PC. It crashes instantly when opening .aps files (created on a MAC) and creating any New Document rendering the software totally useless. I've restarted several times and refreshed the cache. See attached for crash reports.   11. every time i click print it crashes. why is this??? there were some changes to the print section, i used to be able to select which page i want to print. i have design open once i click print it crashes. i have cycled thru this several times, maybe like 15-20 times what causes this??? how can i fix this? who knows of a solution??
  12. Hi Serif Team, This is unfortunate and highly annoying at the same time that the latest version of Affinity Photo (1.9) is crashing frequently and unpredictably. I don't know about others but this is highly frustrating as I was very confident till Version 1.8. (It was faster too) "Stability" is now a serious issue and thus I can only suggest the Serif Team to look into this matter and resolve at the earliest lest it would mar their reputation. Best wishes.
  13. I've seen several bug reports targeting all Affinity apps with Wacom tablets and I had got the same experiences with my Intuos 3 (PTZ930) on Windows 10. Problem: - Tool cursors misalignments, for example the selection tool draws the selection frame somewhere on the screen and not where I placed the cursor with the pen or mouse. - No button was clickable - App freeze and crash after a short time Solution: 1. Go to app preferences -> Tools 2. Change Tablet Input Method from "Low precision" or "High precision" to "Windows Ink" 3. Restart the app (obligatory) From now on the tablet works as desired (at least mine)! I hope this helps someone struggling with the same problems.
  14. Hi, im new using Affinity apps, and start my 90 trials. Im using Affinity Photo rn, install was fine, but the problem is when i make new document. the app suddenly closed first i installed it on my File Drive (D) it's force closed, then i tried installed it on C drive, and still force closed. Can someone help me?
  15. Hi, We are facing issues after we updated the affinity 2 days ago. When we try to open a book which was edited in previous version of affinity, affinity crashes immediately after opening the book. It doesn't allow us to edit or export the book. I am attaching folder container crash reports. This is a work stopper for us Please let us know how to resolve this.   17. Assigning Select Sampled Color to a shortcut and attempting to use it causes a crash every time. Crash happened in last 1.8 version and persists in 1.9. Tested on 2 different computers: Ryzen 5 3600, 16 GB RAM, Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660 Ti, Windows 10 Ryzen 7 3750H, 16 GB RAM, Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650, Windows 10

  19. Dear Affinity-Team, I've seen some messages about Affinity Photo and Publisher crashing, but no one seems to have the same problem in Designer. My Problem: I created a file with some assets in Designer 1.8. Now the new version 1.9.0 crashes when I open this file. Since I would prefer not to publish my file, I would like to know if there is a way to send it to you so you could find out why it crashes. Kind regards, Alex

  21. I am running Affinity Publisher 1.9 on Windows 10 and have been creating a 50 page photo book. Since today the file will open for a few seconds whilst it loads the pages and once it gets to loading the final page which is p1 as it starts loading the last pages first the program closes without any warning. I have sent the same file to my Apple Mac running the same version 1.9 and it opens the file fine although it only sees thumbnails of all the images as they are linked to the publisher file rather than embedded and the originals are not on my iMac. The file itself is 800MB in size which is surprising as when I open the file on my Mac the Resource Manager says all the pictures are linked! So why the large size? Anyway what do I do to be able to open the Photo Book on my Windows 10 computer again? I have tried recovering to a previous file dates a few days before which opened fine but even this one suffers the same consequences as the the most up to date one. I have also tried to move the file to a new location on the Windows 10 computer and reopen it and also have a publisher file open before I open my photo book file but none of those options resolve it. Should I uninstall the Affinity Publisher program Windows 10 and re-install? Would appreciate your advice? Am not sure if I have posted this in the right place for help. If not perhaps you could guide me to where I should post for help? Regards, Tim
  22. As soon as I choose Print or Ctrl+P the program crashes. This is both n Designer and Publisher ver.1.9. Using Export functions seems to work. It was working fine in 1.8.x. If you provide a upload link I can send you the file with the condition that you keep it confidential as it is customer work.

  24. Hi, The registration dialog doesn't work (it never work on 1.9 beta too). I'll try to connect to my account. I have the loading for 2 seconds and Affinity Publisher crash with no error dialog. The software just shut down... I'm alone with this problem ?😊 [EDIT] On the Affinity website, I have nothing 😪
  25. Seeing openCL is causing problems on AP version 1.9, the old version 1.8 should be made available again.
