Hello, I have a little problem with Affinity Photo. When I'm trying to copy some layer and transfer to another project, the program just crashes. Even if I'm trying to reopen the project and repeat copy, the program crashes again. I don't know why it happens because I was making a project for 2 hours and everything was fine until now. Down below you can see my crash report. Here i included how it happens. Hi team, Attached the designer documents containing the pattern (symbol), and the other being 3000 pixel document.When copying the pattern, either all layers or the patterns only together, then pasting into the 3000 pixel document, Designer crashes. Pink pattern.afdesign 3000 pixels.aftemplate -
Hello, Since I work with very complex graphic files (maps), which have many layers, it is very important that when copying a section from one file to another (new) file, the structure of the layers and sub-layers is retained. Enclosed are 4 screenshots showing what happens to the upper layers when only individual objects are copied from them. Otherwise the new file becomes extremely confusing. Also, symbols will be copied into the new file as symbols, but not into the symbol palette of the new file, why not? How can I realize this? Is this planned for the future? -
When copying and pasting parts of my sheet music, and then exporting as a PDF, I find there are thin visible outlines around every area I have pasted, which makes the sheet music very messy looking. The lines are not visible when editing in Affinity Photo. An example is attached. Can anyone help please? page4.pdf -
Maybe the commands I'm after are before my eyes and I'm just not seeing them... Programs like Microsoft Word have "copy and paste text formatting" commands. The commands store character formatting and you can later paste the formatting to other text. With some editors, if a paragraph marker was part of the original selection, you can even paste the copied paragraph formatting—not just character formatting. Something like that could be very useful in Publisher. But are there such commands for use within text frames and I've just missed them? I see a keyboard shortcut for "paste style" but -
Once I have what balance and other settings in "Develop", How can I save or copy those settings to apply to the next image for develop?

I'm having difficulty copying a selection to a new layer. It's a kind of routine thing for making comps... I'm more used to PS and Affinity may work differently so can someone walk me through this please? Sorry if this is a simple question, but a forum search for "copy selection to new layer" did not offer any results and I couldn't see it under 'Help'.

When I try to copy a layer that has a symbol on it to another file, the app will crash and exit as soon add I press paste. The only way around to be able to copy paste the layer will be to turn off the symbol, and then copy paste the layer to the other file and then make the symbol there.

An Option-drag of a selected object on Mac mostly causes the selected object to be duplicated after it gets released. I'd appreciate to use this GUI behave in Affinity. On document page view and in Layers panel, too.

As a long-type PhotoShop user, I am used to being able to copy layer effects (fx) from one layer to another. This could be done with a context menu selection. I have not found this capability in Affinity Photo. Does it exist? I found another user had posted an answer regarding another of your products, but I don't see that feature in Affinity Photo. Thanks for your input. -
Hello, Just wanted to report the following bug: Sometimes when I try to copy something the progam hangs and stay in Not Responding state. The last time it happened was copying while selecting two objects from the layers panel. While this last time it eventually got unstuck, it took around a minute or two to do so. This problem is not EVERY time I try to copy/paste something but sometimes, frequent enough to be annoying and sometimes I just have to force quit it (thankfully haven't lost my progress, it always seems to be able to recover which is good). Hi there, I loaded in a 32 bit EXR to Affinity Photo of a render I did, and it came in with 2 pixel layers - one with the 32 bit colour information (called RGB), and the other being a greyscale image alpha (called Alpha). Both layers have an all white alpha channel. I'm trying to copy one of the RGB alpha layer channels (they are all the same) into the alpha channel of the RGB layer to get proper transparency, and I can't seem to find a way to do it. Is there an easy way to copy data from one channel to another in Affinity Photo? Cheers -
Copy items as SVG setting not working.

Even if I enable this, copy&paste act like it's disabled. on Mac, I can paste SVG code to a text editor. -
It doesn't matter what I copy, could be boxes, could be imported SVGs, instead of copying an SVG, Affinity Designer rasterizes it into an image. This is super annoying. -
I'm currently converting some photohsop brushes to affinity format. For brushes with dynamics I have to select each brush manually and change the parameters to the desired values. It would be much easier if I could: Right Click a Brush >> Copy Settings Select Multiple Brushes using Ctrl+Click and/or Shift+Click Past the copied settings. This would also be really useful when affinity users are creating brushes and want to do changes to all brushes very fast. -

Hi there I find it quite useful using a recolour layer and a really bright colour (like lime) to highlight specific selected areas using the Blend Options interface. My thinking is if I use the recolour layer to show my selection is there a way to copy that across to say a Curves or Levels layer so I know exactly what I'm adjusting? Look forward to any reply. I have problem copy only one channel like red from picture and paste or create new from clipboard! Always I got all channels! However, when I cut a channel, the content in the selected channel disappears. It means I have cut out the content, but all channels are sticking. it is similar when I create a new one from the clipboard. Can I just copy / cut a channel? Any help is much appreciated, thanks!

Hi guys, When I copy text from Word for example, the font of my text field in Affinity changes to SymCat (it's a weird font, I have no idea why I have it installed ). Anyway, if I copy it first in Notepad, which doesn't support text formatting, and then I copy it to Affinity, everything is cool. But it's way too time consuming. Is there a way to stop Affinity from formatting text I paste in a text field? I only need the text content, I don't want the formatting from another program, doesn't make much sense Thank you, Chris -

Hi I drew some graphics on one document. I copy the graphics to paste onto a SEPARATE document but the application closed by itself, not allowing me to paste. 1. I’ve restarted the application 2. Hi. I use photoscape along with affinity photo. PhotoScape has a unique option on the rightclick menu to edit or copy the exif metadata. For those who don't know what metadata is, the EXIF is imbedded into a RAW or JPEG or TIFF to record details relevant to the picture. For example, ISO Fstop focal length of lens exposure time are all recorded as well as photograph date drive mode etc. This is a really handy tool so I don't have to carry pencil and paper around with me when taking photos. Hi again, Just noticed something that i am not aware if already noticed. Apologies if posting again. The first image (above) is a vector copied from a software designing chemical structures. The second image (below) is the how is getting pasted in Affinity Designer. I should add that when exporting the structure as SVG using Illustrator, AD opens it normally without errors. Just in case this helps. However, when copying the structure from Illustrator with command+C, the structure is not getting pasted correctly in AD. Many thanks. A.
