  1. Affinity Photo v2 iPad Version - Beginners Guide to using Drag and Drop and the Place Command The tutorial starts off with a look at the Embedded and Linked Placement Policy, plus using the Resource Manager check and alter the Placement Policy of files. The actual tutorial starts by looking at how to drag and drop single and multiple files from the iPad’s File and Picture Folders, plus from a web page. Then a look at using the Place Command to do the same thing. Lastly a look at using the Place Command while using a Photoshop PSD Mock-Up file. Intro – A Look At The Placement Policy – 0 to 2:56 Drag and Drop from the Photos Folder – 2:57 Drag and Drop from the Files Folder – 5:45 Drag and Drop images from the Internet – 8:16 Using The Place Command – 11:52 Using Place Command with a PSD Mock-up file – 13:53 Serif’s Affinity Help File web page https://affinity.help/ Dropbox PDF iPad version Download Link https://www.dropbox.com/s/yzcm75vonfp619o/iPad%20Version%20-%20Affinity%20Photo%20v2%20-%20Beginners%20Guide%20to%20Affinity%20Photo%20-%20Part%204.pdf?dl=0 Dropbox PC version PDF Download link https://www.dropbox.com/s/ws6dey2yeaxzsrf/Affinity%20Photo%202%20-%20Tutorials%20Vol-010%20-%20Beginners%20Look%20At%20Placing%20Images.pdf?dl=0 Mock-up PSD File from Freepix as used in this tutorial. https://www.freepik.com/free-psd/blank-billboard-mockup_2736937.htm#query=mockup&position=17&from_view=keyword&track=sph
  2. ¡Hola, amigos! Yo soy – ? – ‘bien’ ? That's close enough for government work, right? Right. Today’s Big Question: How You Desaturate Dem Layer What Got Dem Color In It, Hah? A simple question asked by a Simple Mind. Please ’splain me where I can find a simple equivalent of the Photoshop command Layer > Desaturate to remove color from a layer so that it becomes black and white and still responsive to Blend Modes. I've tried the HSL panel with spotty results. If HSL FX is applied as a PARENT layer, it functions marginally well. When the HSL FX are applied as the CHILD layer (a/k/a 'mask'), it's a whole ’nuther story. At that point, any ‘finesse’-ness is gone. Adjustments made to the Child mask layer do not play nice with the Parent layer above. Insofar as experimenting with other FX (live or not), I continue to come up empty. HSL appears to be as close as I can get to where I want to be, but it's half-a-league, half-a-league as regards color removal with xparency FX and blend modality intact. In a perfect world, there should be a way to electronically tell the ware ‘Hey! I want the color removed from this layer. Just do it, ’kay.’ … but if there is such a method, I haven't yet found it. Oh please oh please oh please … Prithee, envelop me in thy Secret Sauce which removeth Color from a layer so that it majickally becometh un Noir et Blanc (and the Blend Modes are still next door). Thanks in advance to all.
  3. In AP is there a command equivalent to the PS command "Equilize"?
  4. Hi there, Would anybody else find it useful to have a key command to hide all vector outlines & nodes (& bounding boxes too) without deselecting the item, nor changing tools? It's easier to judge your final result without the distraction of the "back-room mechanics" on top of your stroke. I remember using that kind of Hide command back in Adobe days. Just pressing Spacebar for a momentary Hand tool _almost_ does the trick. But not if you're adjusting the item's stroke or brush or layer fx properties in a dialog – then Spacebar doesn't work. So you have to judge your adjustments with the nodes & outlines obscuring your edges (with Pen or Node tool selected, at least). And if you switch to a different tool that hides outlines & bounding box, then your pen or node tool parameter ribbon goes away. All these issues would be resolved with an additional View ->View Mode: Artwork/Result Only. Thanks in advance for considering it!
  5. Hey guys! Is in your plans allowing programmers to control the affinity programs with code? Like commands/actions in Python, C# or Javascript? Preferibly Python or C#. So we programmers can develop commands/actions that people can install or run to execute certain tasks. I need a definitive answer to this, to see if it's worth waiting for it, or a definitive NO! Thank you!
  6. Hello guys. I left this feature request in the image-line forums, for the music production software FL Studio, so, I would love to have the following feature in Affinity as well. It's the ability to program commands or extensions like programs like Microsoft Office, Adobe Flash/Animate, Microsoft VS Code, etc. It would be really useful to be able to create commands to automatize tasks, in either Python, C# or Javascript language. (I'd said mostly C#, but Python would be good because of its simple syntax). This will benefit greatly the Affinity/Serif developers, because they would only need to focus on fixing bugs mostly, and us community programmers could contribute by creating these commands and extensions so, the amount of features request should decrease. For example, one crucial extension would be we type a text in a input textfield/dialog, and it splits that text by the spaces and create {n} amount of textfields with the split words. Also, search layers by layer description/name/title or by another search query like hidden, locked, blend mode, or layer containing {x} FX, or search all layers of type textfield, or search all pixel layers, etc. There are so many tools we need to automatize task that us programmers could easily implement. Can someone from Affinity confirm if there is any plan of including this feature, or at least, if they would at least consider implementing it in like version 2.x? Thank you!
  7. It woulds be great to have a Select All command that only applies to the currently active page/artboard. Thanks for all you do.
  8. I really miss a shortcut command to place images or other files. Cheers Andreas
  9. hi there, I am amazed about the beautiful UI and the ease of use of this new app :) is there a way to set the opacity of the active layer by keyboard shortcuts? e.g. in photoshop you simply use the numberpad for this. thanks, rob
  10. Hi, I am using AP to crop dozens of screenshots and wanted to automate that. I created several macros (due to different resolutions of the screenshots), but in no macro can I add the FILE > SAVE (or CMD+S) command. Even CMD+W after the cropping does not work, as when I click SAVE in the close dialog, AP says it will not save that stuff. The Macro Recorder says "Cannot record "Export document". Is that correct behaviour? If so, is it possible to add the SAVE command to macros in a future version of AP? Thanks and happy May the 1st.
  11. Hey guys, I'm wondering if there is an easy way to move sublayers to their own layers like Illustrators "Release to Layers (Sequence)" Command. Thanks and great job on the app! ;)
