  1. Hi everyone, I am completely new to Publisher; I never used illustrator. I bought publisher because I wanted to support Serif, but I am wondering if I can use it to replace what I am doing in Adobe Acrobat. I currently use Acrobat Pro to create print ready PDFs of comic books. I really dont need any other acrobat functions and am trying to ditch it. Typically, I will generate a CMYK .tiff with the resolution/dpi desired, then import these into Acrobat. Acrobat takes on the res/DPI of the tif files and just assembles it into a PDF for me. Can Publisher do this? My main obstacle is that I don't see how to import images. I can manually open a tif in Publisher using right click, but besides that I am stuck when I want to add more pages. If I go to Document > Add Pages from File it greys out my tif files. I also have Designer, so if I am using the wrong solution here I am always open to ideas 🙂
  2. Hey Everyone, I created this video tutorial on how to create a comic book style portrait art in Affinity Photo. I'll be going over the process of sketching, inking, flatting, and coloring. I hope you enjoy this video as much as I enjoyed creating it! Thanks, Mike
  3. Is there a flat colour comic book effect please? Some years ago, with the version of DrawPlus or PhotoPlus that I had there was a comic book effect that could be used to process a photograph into a number of flat colour areas. I remember trying it out with a print screen image from Google street view of the town square of Chalons-en-Champagne, France. The number of flat colour areas used was a user choice. It worked well. I have in mind using such a process so as to produce flat area colour artwork from a photograph and to then use that artwork to produce a glyph for a colour font, so flat areas of colour are what I need. I suspect that if it is available it will be somewhere within Affinity Designer or Affinity Photo. I have bought licences for both but have, thus far, only used Designer a little and Photo almost not at all. William
  4. When starting a new publication there is a choice of a number of preset page sizes, as well as the availability for having a custom size. I am pleased to note that Affinity Publisher includes large sizes such as A0 and A1 as preset page size choices. In the thread https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/76773-need-expert-publisher-help/ there is discussion of producing a publication of a comic book. Apparently there is at least one (quasi-)standard size for a comic book. When setting up the size of a publication, could you consider having available a page preset choice of comic book please? It appears that the width would be 168 mm but it is not quite clear at present whether the height should be but 260 mm seems a good choice. William
  5. Hello guys! This is Jixie Bubblegum, a quick character I made last night using Designer and my Texturizer Pro brushes. Hope you dig!
