Hey everyone, I'm in the middle of a project and I've hit a snag. I'm trying to remove the background from a person's image. For the smooth parts of the silhouette, like the general body and clothes, I'm using vector shapes, and for the more intricate details like strands of hair, I'm using pixel-based masks. (That's how I've always done it.) I thought I could use the compound mask option to combine these two masking techniques into one neat mask. However, that doesn't seem to be possible right now. I want the vector shape to stay vector at all costs for better editability. In the past, for projects like this, I've rasterized the vector shape as the last step, but I'd like to avoid that now. I thought the compound mask would be the perfect option for the task. Has anyone else come across this issue? (Sorry if I missed the thread; if there's one, feel free to point me in that direction.) Maybe this is something that the devs are already working on? I'd love to hear your thoughts or any solutions you might have! Cheers! Dennis *I've attached the masks as a file for testing purposes. Hello Serif. I hope we could be able to combine tools as we like in a future version. Currently we can only have combined tools if the program has the combination predefined. Inside the pink box there are examples of tools with combinations and without combinations. Inside APhoto 2.1 it isn't possible to have the measure and area tools combined. This is possible inside ADesigner 2.x. My interest came from wanting these two tools combined inside Affinity Photo 2.1, but I think it would be great to have the general flexibility of combining tools however we like, I like a clutter free space and hiding multiple tools on the same tile would be great.

Hey Affinity Experts, I have been trying to erase a top border on two combined custom shapes. One shape is dark suit jacket while the other shape is a white shirt shape on top of black suit jacket shape. My problem is that when I layer the shapes a very thin black outline remains from black shape. See example. How can I remove this black top outline? Do I have to erase it or is there a way to layer the shapes that causes the black border line to disappear at overlap. Thanks!

Hi there, I am new to Affinity Photo and I cannot find an answer or a video tutorial about blending images together. To be more precise, I want to blend two images (side-by-side) together, one image showing an empty room pre-renovation and one image showing the completed, renovated room. I do not want a straight, hard line in the middle but rather a soft, gradient transition between the two images. Any advise would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Tom

Greetings I find that combining separated pieces of artistic text in paragraphs can be very useful and I couldn't found a command that make this. If I press the normal combine, the text is converted to curves.
