  1. Hi, In this Affinity Photo Tutorial I show a typical situation: The photo of the sunrise or sunset has become disappointing compared to reality. Simple techniques are shown here on how to bring back colors and dynamics. The Video-Tutorial has english subtitles. (You can activate english subtitles with the gear icon in the YouTube window.) I wish you fun. Your Affinity Jack
  2. Hi, in this Affinity Photo tutorial I show many small steps how to enhance each color individually. Ciao Jack
  3. Hello. I would like to ask why affinity photo's develop persona is still has very limited features? I hope they would at least add color correction features that would allow you to change hue by hue, hue by luminosity, hue by saturation, saturation by hue and etc. A lot of useful color editing tool are only available outside develop persona, making it harder to edit the image without degrading it easily. The masking in develop mode is also still very limited. I hope affinity will soon add it to their updates. Thanks.
  4. I am very new to using the Affinity photo software and photo editing in general so please excuse my ignorance. I recently started shooting virtual tours and have been experiencing the same issue with most of my indoor photos inside of buildings where the open windows have ended up with very bright and washed out highlights. I have experimented with HDR 9-step bracketing and have improved my shots considerably but the window sections of the pictures are still too washed out for my liking. Most of them end up with a blue hue to them and I would like to understand how to remove that blue hue and improve the exposure of the outside scenery through the window. I have included a few sample shots to help illustrate what I am trying to describe. I am using the Insta One X2 camera which does have its limitations but it is all that I can afford at the moment and just wanted to be able to make the shots it produces as good as possible for now until I can upgrade to a better camera.
  5. Would be nice if you could implement Davinci Resolve style color adjustment. https://www.blackmagicdesign.com/products/davinciresolve/color

  7. Hello Everyone Hello Team I gladly spent the last few days working on projects and realized how easy and fluid Affinity photo have become but ... yes because can't move forward without a request for improvement. I'd like to notify that the Develop Persona is something quite complicated from noobs perspective which should be revamped and made more intuitive for all levels of knowledges. What's there and the way it works is cool but more for Pro/Skilled people to work with (same case for the Tone mapping persona) to my defense on this, I used Luminar for like every projects I needed to finish which is actually a non-sens. Looking at Photoshop with their improvement made on Camera Raw, I believe this is a sort of path to bring on the Develop Persona of Affinity Photo. Making things easy to grad and to do without having to worry "what app will color grade with ease while making me save a big amount of time and money etc." I know it's possible and the Team behing the Photo app can make it happen with the ease of a click for our pleasure and joy. Something mid-ground between Camera Raw and Luminar will be welcomed. Hope I posted in the roght place without creating a duplica of request that aleready existed years/months ago. Blessings !
  8. In today’s free Affinity Photo tutorial will show you how to create a cinematic color grading for any portrait, in just 4 easy steps! Outdoor wedding photos can be a hot or miss depending on the season, light, weather and location. There are so many factors that can make or break a photoshoot. But as you already know you have to work with what you have since 99% of the time you cannot reschedule the photo session. So what can you do when the location or other factors are not optimal for you to be able to deliver amazing photos? Affinity Photo comes to save the day ( ok my self as well 😛 ) In today’s free Affinity Photo tutorial I am going to show you a series of techniques that you can use in order to retouch and transform your wedding ( or even portrait ) photos into cinematic masterpieces Got any questions? Let me know. I would be more than happy to help
  9. Following an AP tutorial I have created my own swatches. I use 5 colours palette that to my judgment correspond well to what i see in the original (template) image. If this is not a case, the 5 colour palette by AP is incorrect, I create a swatch again with a higher number of colors and make my selection to limit them to again 5. When color grading with 5 colours I add 5 colours from the swatch palette very carefully by ensuring that the Location value on color grading scale matches the Lightness (L) value of the color an indicated in a window for color picker. When I copy the colour palette from the swatch and apply it to my own image the result is different as regards tonality. Some additional adjustments are needed to match my image with the template. However, it is almost never the same. Is it what correct? Using swatches for color grading does not guarantee that the image that is edited will match the template and there might be differences?
  10. I wrote this on twitter and was recommended to do it here, so let's have fun. I wonder if it would be possible to have a Curve editor for the saturation as in Davinci Resolve. It's very powerful and easy to use and could speed things up to control saturation by their luminance level without going to masks. Of course, their other curves are very useful too without the need to touch sliders or masks but the Luma makes desaturate the shadows and highlights a breeze. Thanks and keep up the great work you do!
Viel Spaß Euer Jack In this Affinity Photo Tutorial, I show you from my serie photo optimization how to improve a photo. There are no great effects, but many details which hopefully improve the result. In this grasshopper photo I try to imitate a little bit the use of a macro lens. 13. Hi there, I'm new to AP but have been using PS and LR for years. I've noticed that the HSL tool in Affinity Photo looks to be nearly identical (save for the omission of an "orange" channel). However if I use values in AP similar to the ones I would use in PS or LR the image ends up clipping or being posterized. Am I doing something wrong? I have attached an example. This is before using the HSL tool in AP. After HSL in Affinity Photo, notice the posterization effect, this does not occur in PS or LR. Maybe the scales are different?
  14. It would be extremely useful to see the percentage values for curves like many of Affinity's competitors. It would allow us to work in a much more nuanced way. The curves tool is awesome, this would take it to the next level. Being able to actually input numerical values would also be useful.
  15. Hi there, is there a way to see percentage values on a curve? Affinity's big curve window is awesome, but percentages would make it much easier to be precise.
