Hi all This has been the week of figuring out how to get my colours sorted in Affinity Photo. There is no direct support for the ColorChecker Passport from X-Rite in Affinity Photo unfortunately but I did figure out how to do it with some help. If you use X-Right ColorChecker Passport these are the steps on how to do it. This might be painfully obvious to some people but for me it was all entirely new and took a while to get my head around so I hope that this is some use to people. 1. When you are shooting your photos in a location take a photo of the ColorChecker Passports colour cards and the white card. Make sure they are in the same place as your subject matter and are properly exposed. 2. Import all the photos from your session along with your pictures of the ColorChecker. 3. Open your photos of the ColorChecker in Affinity Photo crop them down if you like and export them as 16 bit Tiff files. 8 bit might work but I have been going with 16 4. Open ColorChecker Tiff photos with the new beta version of ColorChecker Passport Camera Calibration software in the ICC tab. 5. Export your ICC profiles naming them something so you know what photo shoot they go along with. 6. Close down Affinity Photo and then re-open it to refresh the ICC database 7. Open your photos from the associated photo shoot and go to the Document tab and select Assign ICC Profile and select the ICC file you just created. And if all goes well your colour is mostly corrected. 8. Now to set the white balances correctly. Go to White Balance in the Adjustment section. Click the Picker button and then click on the photo that you took during the photo shoot of your white card. This will then automatically make the adjustment. I hope that helps some folks. I did not understand any of this stuff three days ago and it was no fun trying to get my head around it for the first time. If anyone has tips on how to improve upon this workflow please share. I am by no means an expert on this subject. All the best!

Hello. I would like to ask why affinity photo's develop persona is still has very limited features? I hope they would at least add color correction features that would allow you to change hue by hue, hue by luminosity, hue by saturation, saturation by hue and etc. A lot of useful color editing tool are only available outside develop persona, making it harder to edit the image without degrading it easily. The masking in develop mode is also still very limited. I hope affinity will soon add it to their updates. Thanks.

Am I missing something? but is there a way to drag adjustment over from one image to another? I know I can create a LUT and go that route. But for Example: Can I create a HUE/SAT & curve layer to get a desired color look. Then drag that over to another image and fine tune it? that way both images have the same feel? I had a whole folder of adjustment that I thought "Damn it would be awesome if I can drag this folder over to the other image"

Hello all, in the past I didn't used UV filter in high mountains. But there is high UV light intensity and it caused a magenta color stich on areas like rocks and stones. So the foto looks strange. Is there a known method how to remove this local color. Global color correction or whit point correction does not improve it. Would be nice to get an answer! Thank you from Ralph

It was a challenge for me to execute a food packaging job on Affinity Designer. I did this job with lots of tricks in Affinity Designer and Affinity Photo. No any other software was used. Entire from Raw file conversion to photo-editing, photo-cutout was done on Affinity Photo. In Affinity Designer i first setup the size of the job and set all the objects in proper placing. This job is to be printed on a Gravure Printing Machine with combination of 4 Process colors + 1 Pantone + Logo Red Color. Now the trick part was to give the client variety in color yet should be cost effective and appealing. So we used a common Pantone color which we can change easily on the Printing machine by replacing the ink. So Black color was our savior because on every new job i was getting 4 color cylinders ready for the job. So i used Black color as a Changing element with text in reverse, so client gets a 5 color job at the Development of 4 color job. The job was processed on Art Pro for Cylinder Engraving. I am waiting for the print results to arrive. Once they are ready i will update you the result. Vishal Ambasana - DesignPreuner @ SA Graphic - (Rajkot) India.

I wrote this on twitter and was recommended to do it here, so let's have fun. I wonder if it would be possible to have a Curve editor for the saturation as in Davinci Resolve. It's very powerful and easy to use and could speed things up to control saturation by their luminance level without going to masks. Of course, their other curves are very useful too without the need to touch sliders or masks but the Luma makes desaturate the shadows and highlights a breeze. Thanks and keep up the great work you do!

Hi guys, I'm a 3D artist and quite interested in buying Affinity Photo. But I want to know how does it perform and work with 32 bit images like HDR and EXR. This is a huge weakness in PS and I hope AP can fulfill this gap for me. So, here are my questions: -Can AP create layers, blending modes, apply filters, masks and whatever I can do with standard 8bit images, so I can work non-destructively? -Is there any tone mapping tool in AP? Something on the lines of Camera Raw in PS? Does it work non-destructively too? -Does it have a Lens Blur so I can use ZDepth to apply DOF in post? To me it's very important to have non-destructive workflows as much as possible. Thanks in advance, -Eugenio

One very powerfull set of features would be curves that are not merely lightness based like the Hue VS Saturation VS Lightness Curves in Davinci Resolve. The ability to change saturation based on lightness or hue is a killer feature.

Hello, maybe this is an unusual request, but it would help me a lot in my workflow. I use Affinity to do photos and graphics for use in training videos and presentations. I use Final Cut Pro X for the videos and Keynote for the presentations. In Affinity I have a really hard time to get the skintones right. Normally I use FCPX to do the color correction of the videos. There I have these easy videoscopes and color wheels available. And I like the colors of the slides and the videos to be consistent. Would it be possible to get these tools available in Affinity products, too? Regards, Olaf

The vectorscope is mapped incorrect. Functionally it works but the mapping of colors is wrong. It is minor but frustrating since you cant gauge the colors at a glance since it is different from every other piece of software that has a vectoscope that uses the industry standard. A skin line at 123deg would also be very much appreciated. This is how it should be mapped:
