  1. I installed The Nik Collection as a plug-in in Affinity Photo. Attached is screen shot of AP with Nik opened. As one can see Nik is too small to use. Any ideas to fix this problem? NIK 2.pdf
  2. Hi, I would like to know when are you going to create a new Affinity for a Creative Resource Manager? To preview, categorize, edit and publish multiple assets in a snap. Also the ability to edit metadata, assign keywords, sort into collections and optimize searches... just like Adobe Bridge but better and more powerful.
  3. I did a first-time test of the make-collection feature and got quite the surprise. I made a temporary directory of the hard drive. With a small Publisher document open, I selected Document > Resource Manager, selected all image files shown there, and clicked Collect. For the destination I selected the temporary directory and then the collection was made. After checking to ensure that all files appeared in the temporary Collect directory, I removed it. At that moment Publisher announced a loss of linkage to all of the image files in the document. It appears the program had just re-linked all images to the versions that were copied to the Collect subdirectory. (Had I missed an option that specifies: only copy them — don't re-link them?) Then I had to re-link all of them manually to their original location. I'm glad it's a small document. If I had to do that in the document once it's finished, I'd be at it all day as there does not appear to be a way of doing it in a batch (which would make sense if the missing image files were all in the same directory—which, in this case, they were). Restoring the links seems to be a one-file-at-a-time operation. As far as I can tell, Publisher's online help file (the topic on making a collection from the Resource Manager) does not mention the change of linkage in this situation. Is the feature working as designed? The "gotcha" of suddenly changed linkages could be a nasty surprise indeed for the unwary with a large document containing image files residing, originally, in multiple locations.
  4. Hi, As I explain it in my previous post (MacOS + AP + Nik Collection FULL FONCTIONALS ...), Selective Tool plugin can't work in Affinity Photo because it open a scripts panel in Photoshop ; but most of then can be reproduce with simple macros in Affinity Photo ... So I did it ! 1- At first, you have to install Nik Collection plugins for Affinity Photo, some YouTube videos explain clearly how to do it. 2- You have to correct *.config files has I explain here. 3- Install "NIK Collection Selective Tool.afmacros" How it work ? Generaly, the "real" Selectiv Tool copye and merges all the layers, then it creates a full mask (black) befor calling the plugin you select with it. When you've finished to work in the plugin's panel, you go back in the editing software and you just have to erase parts of the mask with a white brush to reveale the effect ... NIK Collection Selective Tool.afmacros works exactly the same way. Note : you don't have to use Selective Tool to work with Nik Collection plugins ; this tool is just a "plus". Enjoy it ! NIK Collection Selective Tool macros for Affinity Photo.zip
  5. Hello. Is there a way to use Nik sharper for raw files within Affinity Photo? Is yes, does it work better than original photo effect? How to use HDR plugin with more than one image?
  6. Good news for us ! Perhaps I'm not the fist one but I found the way to use all the plugins of the Nik Collection in Affinity Photo. After installing the Nik Collection by following tutorials, we all have the same problems : Viveza 2, Sharpener Pro 3, Dfine 2 et Selective Tool doesn't work. The problem come from the Windows format of the config file of each plugins. In fact, this file is a text file format with the .config extension. Analog Efex Pro 2 - natively works Color Efex Pro 4 - natively works Dfine 2 - you have to replace the Dfine2.config HDR Efex Pro 2 - natively works Sharpener Pro 3 - you have to replace the SHP3.config Silver Efex Pro 2 - natively works Viveza 2 - you have to replace the Viveza2.config (after a quick test, this one doesn't work very well, because of a color problem - I'm not enought competent to solve it) Selective Tool - can't works in AP because it's a sort of scripts panel to call Nik plugins with different ways - We could create similar actions with AP Macros. How and where replacing the .config files ? Go to the folder you create before installing the Nik collection / Google / In Dfine 2 folder > replace Dfine2.config (you have to login) In Sharpener Pro 3 folder > replace SHP3.config (you have to login) In Viveza 2 folder > replace Viveza2.config (you have to login) If you didn't erase the way to access to these plugins in AP's preferences, they works now. Enjoy it ! configs files.zip
  7. Will we be able to use the (now) free Nik plugin collection from Google in Affinity Photo? It would be great as I always work with those ones. I tried re-installing them but Photoshop is the only supported platform it seems. This would have a dramatic impact in my choice of switching from PS to Affinity!
  8. Congratulations on the development of an excellent software. Affinity has one shortcoming though from my perspective, that I look for in ANY application. Affinity Photo lacks a photo browser to access photos freely from a flowing stream, like in Lightroom, or Enlighten for iPhone. When editing, I like to freely have access to multiple images in a thumbnail, matrix type display or at least a media strip at the bottom or side. This allows for easy access to multiple media data items rather then having to open photos one-by-one, drill down to a resource location, load the file, begin to edit the file, then rewind, and repeat the process for the next photo. Even Apple's basic photos.app allow for multiple photos access for edit and to save to LR-type collections.
