  1. I cannot get my print to canon to fit to page size. I'm printing 13x19 canon luster and it won't fit or scale to fit the page. In elements 11 I can get this to auto size and fit the 13x19 without issue. How do we get this to work in affinity photo
  2. When will Affinity Photo be able to read the new Canon CR3 raw format?
  3. Hello, I've recently purchased AF and it's my first serious image processing software so I'm still learning. However, one thing that has been driving me crazy from day 1 is that AF keeps distorting the RAW images (I use Canon EOS 6D, .cr2 raw files): not only it's visually distorted, it greatly looses in sharpness and I can't get the sharpness back. Here is an example image (files attached): one image (canon.jpeg) was converted from raw to jpeg in a free software with basic functionality (Digital Photo Professional) that comes with Canon cameras, I didn't do any modifications, just conversion. The second photo is the result of developing in AF. In AF I imported the raw file, turned off the lens corrections in Develop Assistant, Raw Engine is Serif Labs, the only one I seem to have, then pressed develop and then exported as jpeg. You can clearly see from the attached files how much is the AF result is of inferior quality: it's not sharp, the thin grass has turned into a strange mish-mash and the image is distorted ("bend" outwards?) I created a gif just to demonstrate it, the reddish image is the result from AF. How can I prevent AF from distorting the image like this? The experience of working with this software has been extremely frustrating so far as I seem to spend most of the time trying to fix the mess that AF makes of the image rather than doing the post-processing I want. I'd appreciate any help with this!
  4. Hello everyone! I take the photos with Canon 6D, when I open the raw files with windows 10 photo app and Irfan view, everything goes well. the color is just fine. but when I open it with affinity photo, it shows more red and color bands between bright and dark parts. can anybody make an explanation? I attached 2 photos here, be aware that the model has some fat granule on the face this may cause discomfort.
  5. Hello everyone and thank you for your answers in advance. I have a huge issue with Affinity for mac: Using a Canon 1Dx mark ii camera, i capture RAW photos for the best quality, but for some reason Affinity doesn't read the white balance correctly. I usually play with a white balance to tune a nice look when possible, but this time it was a no go, because the product i photographed looks blue instead of purple! Please see attached 3 files: The original RAW, a JPG file exported via Apple Photo app (it easily detected and exported the correct white balance - Purple) and a screen shot of how it looks via Affinity Photo (Blue). Is there anything i'm missing or should i just look for a different software for pro work? Original File.CR2
  6. Hello, I have not yet purchased, nor even taken up the offer of the 10 day trial as I want to know for sure that my Canon 77D camera (have a Sigma 18-300mm lens too) is supported by Affinity for Windows. Neither the camera nor lens are listed as being supported but think it will actually work ok. Are there plans to add this kit into the Affinity supported gear? If so, is there a timeline / release date? What drawbacks will I face with a) the camera & b) the lens not being supported? I currently use Canon's DPP & having an unsupported lens is a real pain as I can't make any lens corrections. Thanks :-) Julie.
  7. Hello. I was looking for photoshop alternatives since Adobe refuses to sell lifetime license stuff until I found this. unfortunately, my camera AKA Canon 200D is not supported. My only available OS is windows so I can't rely on Apple core to take care of my RAW files. So I want to know when will my camera be added to the supported list and if I can use TIFF (8-bit, 16-bit or 32-bit float) format instead of RAW until my camera is added. Thanks in advance YAR Oracool
  8. I have an M50 and when I attempt to import to my iPad Pro via the lightening card reader, all I see are the video files. I have tried shooting in both the CR and CR3 Formats Any help here would be appreciated
  9. Nikon and Canon cameras have changeable picture control settings that can be changed in raw photos. Can AP allow us to have the option to change that setting as LR does ie. Portrait, Landscape, vivid, monochrome, etc.
  10. Hi there, I've evaluating Affinity to work with the raw files from my Canon 70D. For a test I started from a very underexposed picture. With Affinity I followed the lineguides from this tutorial: https://vimeo.com/channels/affinityphoto/202715178 but the best I can get is a quite dull image. See the second attachment. On the other had I see that with a few settings in LightRoom, the software I'd like to leave, I'm albe to achieve better results. See the third image. I'm wondering: I'm missing any step, settings or configuration in order to improve my raw editing with Affinity? I've tried Apple raw engine and Serif but the results are similar. TIA.
  11. I use a Canon D6 Mark II which produces a .CR2 RAW file format. When importing using the Serif engine I was getting a purple haze, so using the Assistant Manager I changed the engine to Apple. I closed Affinity Photo and tried the same file again. Now CR2 files open as completely black. My camera is listed as a supported format on the Apple web site: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT207972. I will attach an example file here. I am able to view this file in Photos on my iMac. IMG_0127_RAW.CR2
  12. Hi guys First photo shoot in a few days for my new company. Id like to tether my 750D to my MacBook pro. In short, what will i need to do this? Ive read a long USB cable? Will it be a USB to USB or another type of cable? Also how do i tether in affinity? Is it possible. Keep it simple, thanks guys Steve
  13. Hi, I have tried several times to open CR2 files taken with my Canon 5D MK IV. Unfortunately 99% of the pictures I am opening are not aligned and seem to be corrupted when opening with the Affinity Photo 1.6.6 app on my MAC. The picture seems to be opening in different rectangular parts that are not aligned and making an overall pic... As the problem is difficult to explain I have attached a picture and hope anyone can help me to get this resolved. I can handle JPG or TIFF files without a problem. Looks like the pronblem also occures when opening DNG files. So has perhaps something to do with RAW material??? I have tried HDR stack with CR2 and DNG files but non are working and always result in I this corrupted pics. I hope somebody can help me with this one :-/ Regards Tom
  14. Good morning for all I have a Nikon d90 and Canon powershot g7x Mark II, in a few month I buy Nikon d7500. I would like to know when the powershot canon g7x Mark II and the nikon D7500 will be supported the raw develop functions......
  15. Affinity seems to be assuming that my Canon RAW (EOS M) files have a colour space of sRGB, despite the fact that they are really in Adobe RGB. The reason I say this is that if I enable colour space conversion warnings, and set my working space to Adobe RGB, it does warn me that it is converting from sRGB to Adobe RGB. Does affinity support colour spaces other than sRGB in RAW files? If not, is there a way I can assign the correct space manually in the Develop persona? (I can't seem to find a way to do this)
  16. Hi, I have a 9.7” iPad Pro with iOS 11.01 and the latest version of Affinity Photo (1.6.5.61). I have a Canon 70D camera. I saved some RAW files to google Drive. I can’t “Import From Cloud” the CR2 files as they are greyed out. If I go to the Drive app and select “Open In”, I can choose Affinity Photo as an option, but absolutely nothing happens when I do this. Am I missing a step? Are RAWs from my camera not supported? Is there anything else that I can do? My hope was that I could use my iPad and Affinity for post work when I travel and avoid lugging a laptop, but I’m wondering if I may have made a mistake. Any advice and suggestions are greatly appreciated
  17. Does the software support the Canon EOS M5 cr2 raw format? If not when will this happen? I would like to purchase it if/when it does.
  18. Hi Affinity, Today I bought your iOS app for my iPad and am saddened to see RAW support is not implemented for the Canon Rebel SL2. I understand this is a new camera, but did not realize RAW was a uniquely catered format per each type of SLR camera. Is there any hope of supporting this RAW in the near future? Am I doing something wrong on the camera settings side? This worked just fine with my previous Rebel SL1. Thank you for your time! Jared
  19. Hi, I bought an iPad Pro as my only device for photography. Affinity Photo is great but lacks one very important feature, to be a full replacement of Windows machine. If it would be possible, to fully support Canon imagePROGRAF printer line? I have a PRO1000 - and on Windows I have full of options to edit before I'd like to print my ideal photo. Unfortunately, on iPad Pro I can only choose paper size and a few predefined types of paper. I think it would be great for professionals to support those printers in Affinity.
  20. I noticed that when I do my first level edit in Canon's DPP 4.5 and save it Affinity still opens the original image. It is a bit annoying and the only way to capture those edits is to convert the image to JPG and then edit in Affinity. The problem is every conversion means loss of image quality. Is there a way around this?
  21. Looking for the Canon IPF 8300 + Printer Plug in. Currently found in the PS file>export menu ... it's the perfect way to print to Canon large format printer. Right now Affinity Photo is perfect for me with this one exception ... I can't switch until this feature is available. I'm certain everyone with a Canon printer must be in the same boat.
  22. Windows 10 OS, CR2 raw files, When I open a CRW raw image the develop persona opens complete with a 'Develop' tab and a 'Cancel' tab. I believe this is as it should be. If I open a CR2 image produced by my EOS760D or EOS7D the image opens in develop persona but without either the 'Develop' or 'Cancel' tabs. When I close the image I receive a message telling me to either 'complete' or 'cancel'. At this stage I cannot complete since I am unable to access the 'Export' command, and since I do not have a 'Cancel' tab, I cannot cancel either. On some occasions I needed to go to Task Manager to close Affinity and then re-start. I have checked, and both raw files from both cameras are listed as supported. Can you check if this will eventually be corrected?
  23. Hello. first of all, sorry for my bad english. I'm from Germany. I'm testing the Beta from the affinity Designer. I started a new document in 4x6 Inches, and as i wanted to print it on a paper with the same size, it didn't worked. It always changed the printing size of the paper in A4 Format. Hope you can fix this. If this is not the right place for Posts like this, please tell me where i can tell my Problems with the Beta. Thanks so far. Regards, Manuel
  24. Why and which raw engine should I choose in Affinity Photo to process Canon .cr2 raw files for best results? Where do I choose it? (After searching the forum without answers; sorry if I'm wrong). Thank you very much.
