As object, AD crash immediately after startup, I tried pressing ctrl at boot to reset all preferences but the problem remains, what can I do to fix it? Mac osx 10.11.6 crash report.rtf- 7 replies

This bug only happen to the beta version. You can reproduce follow by my steps. 1. Create a new file 2. Create a Shape 3. Export Selection (with or without background)** (alt+shift+cmd+S) 4. After the export, deselect the shape (by clicking on blank space) 5. Export (alt+shift+cmd+S) again 6. Crash out every times you try to export if you are not select an object. Cheers. -
I know it maybe hard to do because the PSD files from PS have different structures from Affinity, but It's going to be perfect if it can do correctly. Please try my file.. It only happens to text. I set text stoke effect in PS at 1px, but the imported result is 5.3px. However I am really happy with the RC1 version. Various bugs have been fixed and almost everything run correctly. I can't get the font dropdowns to work. Even the font size dropdown. I can't click anything and the highlighting is broken. When I click a dropdown option, it either does nothing, or the dropdown disappears and the text font goes back to the old font. Also the up and down arrow keys don't work. The font selected just moves the the topmost option when using the arrow keys.

On the right-side artboard does not create a vertical guide. demo: -
From my example file, I try to change height of the Artboard. It works very well when I select each Artboard But if I select two Artboards and change its height, I will lose my work inside the Artboards and cannot undo it. test_artboard.afdesign

i found that after i updated my mac os to sierra, there is a lagging problem occurs every time i drag and move objects on canvas, am i alone in this situation? or anyone else going thru this too? the version of AD in my mac is 1.4.3 -
In the release thread there was a mention of using pixels only in some dialogs, so I decided to check on older oddity: Earlier AD seemed to automatically convert 1 pt line to 1 px line, it doesn't now, an improvement alright. However, it still apparently treats all dimensions as pixels, as can be seen in the video. Specifically: 1) Create a rounded rect, the tooltip shows dimensions in mm, yay! (~28s) 2) change stroke to 2 pt, stays that way, another yay! (~48s) At this point all my units are resolution independent. (You think you know where this is going, right? There is a surprise coming ;-) 3) Change the document resolution, and yes, the rounded rect has 6 pt stroke and is bigger, BUT (~1:08) 4) It is not selected, kinda OK, but I have to select it from layers to resize, and correctly, the resize doesn't affect stroke (~1:48) 6) Now after resizing when I change document resolution back (~1:58) 5) Its graphic and selection rectangle have separated and stroke is thinner, but not the original 2 pt (~2:02) I would really like AD to do calculations in the units indicated, at least for all vector stuff, there supposedly is a reason I use these units (or believe AD when it is telling me what units I'm using). The Transform panel is also showing mm:s so I do believe that I'm using resolution-independent units. Cheers, ZaqZaq ResolutionChange-AD1.5b14.mov -
I often blend layers , for some reason the blend indication in the Layers and the Live mask are different. As you can se it says 'Darker Colour' & 'Normal' at the same time. See image Is this 'normal' ?

Hi With your Colour Picker Tool active if you hold down Ctrl key nothing actually happens. The tip on the status bar says it should show the document palette but I can't see any action with neither left nor right Ctrl key pressed. -
Hi, In 1.5.0.17 when objects are selected and zoom is set via keyboard (ctrl+1, ctrl+2 etc.) the selected object's opacity is also affected (as if only 1, 2... key is pressed). Greetings, Martin -
I had a bit of trouble with the toggle shortcuts that I often iterative press it when my computer is slowing down to make sure that I am in that tool. The shortcuts seem not precise for me, then I try to turn it off in the Tools Shortcuts settings but I cannot. Is it can turn off for 1.4.2 or Beta Version? Please help me. Thank you.

Greetings. I created a file IN Affinity Photo. When I export the .afphoto file to a PSD and go back to open the PSD in Affinity, the file does not open, with the error message "The File Could Not Be Parsed." I created two files (inside and outside of a matchbook) and my local printer could only open 1 of the files. Why would this one (randomly) not work? Again, when I go back to open it in Affinity, I get the error message, "The File Could Not Be Parsed." Thoughts? Thank you. -
In the export to PDF dialog, if you try to change the radial button from "Use Document DPI" to the custom DPI option, the "Use Document DPI" radial button does not deselect, and the custom DPI field / slider does not become available. Then if you close the dialog window, the application crashes. This is Windows 7x64. -
1. The blue colour node is hidden under the red node with no way to select it (that I know of). Suggestion: make end nodes delete-able and move-able (match Adobe's implementation). This would allow the gradient to be easily rearranged. I.e. If you want to change the final/end colour there is no easy way of doing that. With the Adobe implementation simply dragging the end node inwards past another node will swap the colour. Adobe's implementation: 2. Mentioned before elsewhere, but the reverse operation on the applied fill doesn't take effect until other fill parameters are modified after.

Hey Serif, I just updated my Affinity Designer to 1.5.0.12 from the previous version and now my scroll wheel doesn't do anything in the program anymore, can't zoom or scroll up and down and to the sides using the mouse. Funny enough this works on my stationary PC But the issue is on my laptop. I didn't touch any settings and even after a restart still nothing. Disabling touch pad didn't fix it either.. Anyone knows what the issue is? -
Hi when I change the opacity down and take it back to 100% never its a real 100% the number say it, but the illustration show other thing. Look at the 100% at the layer panel and the color selector and look the oval shape I can see througt it, the oval shows the line under it no matter its at 100% opacity.

Hey guys, Every time I go through my fonts the app crashed. This doesn't seem to happen when I pick a font at once, just when scrolling through them. Is there anything I can do on my end to fix it? Thanks

Hello! I recently tried to work with Affinity and although I like it all in all, there a two things that grind my gears: In the layer pane on the left where all layers are listed, there is a "fx" button. Let's say there are two Layers, "Layer A" and "Layer B". Clicking on one layer's "fx" button will always result in opening the currently active layer's effects. So refering to the example, if I am working on Layer A and click "fx" next to Layer B, I still get Layer A's effects. I have no idea if this is intended, but to me this is really counterintuitive. I suggest to change this to open the properties of the layer the button belongs to.Further, I wonder if Affinity will support "Contour" styles as I find them in Photoshop when using the "Bevel and Emboss" layer stlye: It seems that those are ignored/not imported, if I am trying to import some PSD file. Related to the Point above: Affinity doesn't seem to import contour splines (as Photoshop uses them for shadows or bevels etc) correctly. Some presets are missing which I guess will lead to those being ignored.(?) I didn't check custom drawn contour splines yet. Rendering bug: http://i.imgur.com/Rh7lyHb.jpg I drew an oval shape, and added some triangular bevel. Since it is triangular, one would expect the very outside is dark but in contrast there is a strange "glow". (the screenshot is zoomed in for better visibility) GUI Improvement: there is no cancel button in the layer effects windows. When playing around with the effects, all changes are immediately applied which messes up the history. The only workaround I found is to undo all the changes again which is pretty annoying.

I stumbled upon a bug which happens when I: 1. have a fill layer (ie. by opening a Photoshop file that has one) 2. deselect the fill layer, if it is selected 3. switch to stroke in the color panel 4. select the fill layer 5. change the color using the color panel Now the fill layer can be transformed like any other shape, the color isn't correct, and if I change the document size using "anchor to page", the fill layer is rendered with a weird pattern at the edges, like this: I'm using 1.5.0.11 Normal Fill Layer.afdesign Corrupt Fill Layer.afdesign

Hi, I have a 16px grid with 4 subdivisions. When I zoom in and out the subdivisions disappear; zoom in and out again — again no subdivisions; do it a third time and the subdivisions appear. There seems to be a pattern — two cycles without subdivisions then one with. The same happens when zooming out first and then in. Also works with mouse zoom and ctrl+1 but then subdivisions seem to appear and disappear more randomly. Version is 1.5.0.10. Thanks! Martin

Smooth curves does not work properly 1) Draw a pencil line and change to node tool. 2) Click on smooth curves. Curve does not smooth. All it does is add more nodes.

It seems that the fill mode menu does not work. Affinity Designer 1.5.0.9 / Windows 8.1 x64
