On Mac (don't know if also windows) the guides manager some times when I try to open it, appears but then disappears and it's impossible to bring it back. Need to restart Affinity to show again. This happens a lot when Affinity is in full screen but sometimes also in normal window mode.

Hello I am trying to switch from adobe products to affinity on windows and for now is going terrible. It is not related with usability but stability. And it affects all affinity products and versions. When i am zooming in and out by holding ctrl + mouse wheel any document, even new one with one artifact (sqare for example) i am always getting appcrash with below error: It affects every version of affinity designer - current production version 1.5.1 and newest beta 1.5.2.56 It also affects Affinity Photo. Always the same scenario, i am starting to work with some file, i am zoom in and zoom out couple times, app crash, whole work lost, go back to adobe. My current setup is: Intel Xeon ES-1607 3.0Ghz 16GB ram, Samsung SSD Windows 7 I've also tested it on second computer: Intel i3 3220 3.3GHz 8GB ram, Samsung SSD Windows 10 Can you pleas do something with it?

Occasionally with the MAS version and the beta I'm having a bug where the shear and scale options in the Character panel will have only the icon show, and no input is available.

G'day again from Australian. I am having an awesome time with Affinity Designer, but I am very much a newbie. I assume that I am doing something wrong, as I am unable to get the Check Spelling While Typing option to work :( The option is clicked in the Text/Spelling spot, but when I type in text nothing gets corrected. I this a senior's problem for me :), or is this a problem with Affinity 1,5,1,43 for Windows? I have Windows 10. Many thanks for your help and I look forward to hearing from you soon. Paul. -
When exporting a document in the export persona the manually entered size (e.g. 1200w) is not accepted. The document in the first place is exported with the original dimensions. Repeating the step a second time (without changeing anything in between) exports the document correctly as entered in the edit field. Cheers, Timo -
Hi all. I was perplexed when I drew half a logo, snapping all of its right-side line ends to a vertical guideline; then mirrored it horizontally and expected the new half to line up correctly. It didn't. The centerline nodes of the two halves were offset horizontally by a tiny amount, so after I'd combined the shapes and tried to delete the redundant (overlapping) nodes down the center (along the guideline), the geometry was messed up (no longer symmetrical). I attached a screen grab of the apparent bug in action. Anyone else notice this? Thanks. Edit: I guess this belongs in the bug forum, but I can find no way to delete posts. While doing the tutorial on Ketchup for Blood. I followed it to the letter, even retracing each step of the trainer. I could not select the right corner handle and get the red resizing ring to extend. After discussions with members, they suggested selecting Smart Mode in the Pen tool was the reason. The handles do not look like the corner tutorial or the Ketchup for Blood tutorial. Instead of blue square handles they are too small to grab and and they won't pull out with the red ring. When I recreated the design from scratch, the corner tool behaved perfectly, and that was using Smart Mode. So that is a mystery to me. Maybe it is something I did, so I am willing to send the project file for examination, but it does seem this corner tool is not consistent. Please let me know. I have attached this link that shows the handles are round instead of square HERE. Let me know if you need more file(s) and/or info as it is all saved. Michael- 2 replies

Hello, I am a 3D artist looking to ditch Photoshop and am very happy to have found Photo. Part of my workflow has me baking out various textures from Marmoset's Toolbag 3. Within this package is the ability to bake all of the textures into a multi-layer PSD. I've hit my first hurdle working with Photo though as I am unable to open up these exported PSD files in Photo. The error message looks like this: I've also attached a low resolution bake of a multi-layered PSD exported from Toolbag if it helps give your team any insight into its file structure. bake.psd -
Hi guys, tiny problem in the export algorithm: This is what AP shows me (and what it should be like): And this is what IrfanView shows me as the exported JPG (85% Quality) file: Not good ... certainly not something I can work with on a daily base ... Can't always check that every layer is exported properly. Certainly a serious problem, since JPG is one of THE essential export formats ... Please check this .. Cheers, Timo

Hi, I want to snap individual object inside a group, but when I hovering my cursor to the object I wanted, the whole group was selected, and my candidate list is set to 6, so end up everything in my page were purple color indicated selected since all group selected when I point to more things. why this happen but not before? How do i solve this problem? Previously I can just hovering my cursor to whatever i want then a purple color will flash around the object to indicate you can snap to it no matter it is in a group or not. but now after 1.5 update or any reason, I can't do that anymore. even the whole group been selected, I can't snap to any object inside the group, only the boundary of the group. A bug occurs when I have the paint brush tool selected, and I'm panning with the spacebar using the left click on a normal mouse. In addition to panning normally, about half the clicks actuates the paint brush tool and paints a single click's worth of paint on the canvas. This forum doesn't let me upload videos, so here's the video showing what happens. This is on Windows 10 64-bit with Intel i7-4790k CPU with Intel HD 4600 graphics (the integrated graphics that comes with the CPU). Hope this helps. I'm very excited about Affinity Photo coming to Windows. -

Hi! The Color Picker won'twork with a surface Pen: I try to pick a color, but while Dragging the "zoom lens" jumps between the start of the drag and the current pen position. Using the touchpad works just fine. -

Hi, I have noticed that the transform tool box is not always "active" when I try to change the size of a rectangular selection. When I switch the layers a few times, the input boxes suddendly become active... Tested on Version 1.5.044 (RC) Have a great day and many thanks for that great piece of software! Hello, I am photographer specialized in the panoramic photo 360 °. The possibility of retouch in a modified projection would be of a big help in my work. It would make economy of the additional conversions (equirectangular / cubic / equirectangular) and would facilitate the retouch of nadirs or of zones that covers 2 cubic faces in the same time. The promise of this feature was the main cause of my purchase of Affinity Photo. Unfortunately there is a bug in this function (version 1.5.CR). Please analyze screenshots in attached files. I repeated the experience 4 times with the same result. I use iMac Retina 5K, 27-inch, Late on 2015, with memory of 8 Go + AMD Radeon R9 M390 2048 Mb, macOS Sierra 10.12. Screen 1 I opened with Affinity Photo a panorama 360° saved as the equirectangular projection. Screen 2 I changed the display of the projection (equirectangular to the rectilinear) and I chose the centring to visualize the zone to be retouched. Screen 3 The routouche was made but I lost the possibility of navigation inside a sphere 360 ° (impossible to make the next centring and next retouch), my panorama 360 °/180 ° became a simple, rectilinear picture, reframed during retouching process. To get back the whole equirectangular panorama, I decided to leave the rectilinear projection. Screen 4 I noticed on the equirectangular panorama: - My retouch was made. - 2 strips extracted from my panorama were placed by the top (in the same layer). Kind regards, Hubas -
Hi, I encountered an error when trying to change either color for a gradient to transparent. Here are the reproduction steps: Create a new document Select the Gradient tool Click on the color picker in the menu bar Select the Gradient tab Click on color and select the transparency icon You'll get an unhandled exception error Affinity Designer for Windows version 1.5.0.39 (beta) running on Windows 8.1 If you have any questions, I'll be glad to answer them. With the latest 1.5.0.42 beta Help still is not working. I no longer get a script error. But I see this behavior: * Entering a search term produces no results. * Clicking a link, say filter by painting, just causes the display to jump back to the top of the entries. No help information is displayed. In case it helps: Windows 7 64-bit system.

I am using Affinity Photo Windows Beta v1.5.0.39 and have run in to a problem with resize canvas, its only seems to resize 3 edges e.g. top,bottom and left, those edges get the correct canvas added but the right side gets no canvas added. Have I done something wrong on the canvas resize or is it just bug ?. Regards Chris

I don't know if this is bug or is it intended like this but it extremely limits my workflow. When I'm painting using paintbrush or pixel tool I'm constantly picking colors from the same painting using Alt key on keyboard. And it works fine. But If I try to pick color with Alt key from another opened image it doesn't work. It picks color but when you go back to other opened image it switches back to the last color I've selected on that image. Is this intended to be like that or is it a bug? Thanks

When I export the icon on a transparent background (using the export persona), she always turns out on a white background To avoid this, I export out in draw persona, using the export function in the drop down menu (export > selection without background)
