  1. The option to adjust Brush Size to be Alt + Right Click like it is in Photoshop. I've seen posts since V1 requesting this and I'm surprised this hasn't been added yet. Affinity's current combo of Ctrl + Alt + Left Click just feels really clunky and unnecessarily complicated. I've used Affinity for years now and it still feels odd. Giving us that option to change it in Preferences > Shortcuts menu would be great! Especially with new users switching to V2 from Photoshop would help ease them in better. Loving V2 so far! Keep it up Serif!
  2. Textured Pencils Added a set of 30 Textured Pencil Raster Brushes to Resources Sample set as displayed Updated for Affinity 2 but retained version 1 brush set Affinity 01Affinity 01: Original Brush set (Sample sheet removed)Affinity 02Affinity 02: Updated version 2 set with adjustment to dynamics to include Distance and Interpolate (Sample sheet as below). Replaced Linear Paint 01 with better nozzles! These Brushes are a bit different from my usual offering. 1. They are small 2. Rely largely on setting the blend mode to Average (something I learnt from Sketchbook Pro!) 3. Resize as you wish 4. Updated to consider Affinity 02 Brush Dynamics 5. Included samples of Base Textures Sample Sheet Enjoy! Affinity 01 Project Brush - Textured Pencil.zip Affinity 02 PB 15 - Textured Pencils A2.zip Ink Sketch Brushes Added a new set to supplement these brushes from the Project Brush 13:Ink Painter Set (which is now complete)..a bit out of sync as I started them quite a while ago! A set of 35 Ink Sketching Raster Brushes to Resources Sample set as displayed 1. These are essentially the same as the Pencil Brushes but with adjustments to the brush dynamics and less texture..There are 2 other sets that supplement these in the InkPainter Project set (Ink & Linear) 2. Similar to brushes produced by Jake Parker for initial Inktober Project 2016 3. If you need textures/Patterns There is a set available Camouflage assets (here) ...which is also out of sync...and maybe in the wrong place! Sample Sheet Affinity 01 inkPainter - Sketching.zip Affinity 02 PB 15 - Textured INK A2.zip
  3. Project Brush 28 Ink Stipple Uploaded new condensed set of Ink Stipple Brushes mostly based on existing nozzles which I have adjusted significantly to get better results! You can increase the nozzle spacing for greater stipple control Consists of 35 Raster brushes extracted from PB 03 (Big-T) | PB 19 Inker | PB 15 Texture Pencils | PB 17 Concept | PB 21 Scratch & Scribble Added 6 Sketching Brushes from Textured Pencils Added 5 Ink solid Concept Brushes (red brushes on sheet) as necessary if you are going to use for inking Added 24 Stipple Brushes old nozzles but new dynamics removed Accumulation and Flow Jitter Samples as below: Affinity V1 ProjectBrush 28 - Ink Stipple.zip Affinity V2 PB 28 - Ink Stipple A2.zip
  4. Here's 20 fur and hair brushes. They are fairly simple, but I like them. Enjoy. Fur & Hair.afbrushes.zip
  5. I made a longish running webcomic by using Adobe Fireworks, and eventually moved to Affinity Designer because it seemed like the best successor I could find. So my question is this, has anyone else done the same and created equivalents or facsimiles of the brushes shown below? And would you be interested in sharing them? I had created a series of special effects using these. Alternatively I might consider making these myself, as a way of teaching me how to make brushes. I used cyan and red as the foreground colours with these and width of 10px.
  6. Hi! Just found out that some custom brushes are missign on the iPad version of both, Photo and Designer. For example, this is how a custom set looks in Affinity Photo on a Mac. Nothing wrong here: And this is how the same set looks in Affinity Photo V2 on the iPad (same happens to Designer): At the beginning I though this was only affecting dual brushes, but nope, it happens randomly without a clear pattern, at least for me. And, this is not only a visual thing, missing brushes aren't displayed correclty while painting, either they won't paint anything at all. I'm not sure if the developers are aware of this issue already, but I wanted to post it here for the record. Thanks, Enrique
  7. This is something that was requested in V1, and figured I'd re-suggest it. It would be amazing to search or filter brushes by name. I know you're able to filter page presets by name, and since people likely have a greater number of brushes than page presets, it'd be extremely useful to have similar functionality in brushes. I have over 200 brushes, and trying to remember what category I saved them in is challenging at times. Particularly, when brushes are displayed by their pressure graphs and not names. Not sure how hard it'd be to implement, but this would be a huge QoL improvement for me. Thanks for the continued updates and interactions with users. Cheers!
  8. I think that the current set of brushes should be expanded (for Archviz & concept art purposes). The current brushes for the most part emulate traditional materials, but they don't cover many of the typical elements in architectural design. A good set of default brushes, which Photoshop conveniently supplies, helps people get over the initial hurdle of migrating resources. More specifically, there could be a few cloud brushes (there are some in the free Dreamphography brushes), simple grass, simple foliage, birds, people and weather effects (e.g. rain/ snow particles). There could also be some specific top-down brushes for the same categories.
  9. Project Brush Set 04 Ammonite Used to create Ammonite Hotel Updated the brush set to version 2...I can draw some more Ammonites now! Changes/improvements as below Version 2.0 1. Removed old versions redundant now.. 2. Made significant changes to the brush dynamics and nozzles. All nozzles are now vector based replacing previous raster versions (as much as possible) 3. There is a significant number of new nozzles for the brushes Which means they are not like original sets.. 4. Made use of the 1.7/1.8.2 brush engine in AD/AP using subBrushes. 5. The old brush set was appearing darker and less intense with 1.7/1.8 update...I have fixed that with this version! 6. Updated the Sample sheets to newer (latest) layout..Sub brushes are displayed in red. Updated for Affinity 2 but retained version 1 brush set Affinity 01Affinity 01: Original Brush set (Sample sheet removed)Affinity 02Affinity 02: Updated version 2 set with adjustment to dynamics to include Distance and Interpolate (Sample sheet as below). 11. Hi I hope this is the right area to post this question. I would like to make an alcohol ink effect background but I cannot see any brush kits for sale that refer to Affinity, only Procreate and Photoshop (I assume they are not compatible). Is it possible to create the same effect with existing brushes? Have tried but failed with watercolour brushes. Many thanks
  12. I wanted to try a custom pressure setting on a line. But when I go to the pressure area of the stroke panel, it seems like nothing I do affects my stroke. Also, sometimes when I try to move one of the handles they both move down at the same time. https://imgur.com/a/eqzgPb1 (gif of my problem) I have these 2 identical stokes. One is a copy of the other, and as you can see for some reason, one won't let me add the pressure or even a custom brush to it. Also, on the one where I could add the pressure/brush. Is there a way I can tweak that to make it more pointy? It would be nice if I could use a brush/pressure setting so I don't actually have to draw shapes which is what I first started to do... P.S. everytime I tried to include a gif in my upload it failed.
  13. Hi All. Thanks for this moment. Can I create a texture brush that does not override/thicken previous strokes. One example: I want to create a curly-haired teddy bear, but with all of my current texture brushes if I touch a previous stroke it doubles the texture and darkens it. I just want one mass texture and to deal with the shading and highlights on other layers. Any thoughts? Cheers, John.
  14. Hello, I just bought my first brush pack in the Affinity store. I could easily install them in Affinity Designer, but it doesn't work in Affinity photo (desktop for Windows). When i import them, i have a message saying they've been added (as i did this multiple times, it say the name is *brush pack 2, brush pack 3* and so on), but they don't show in my brush panel. I tried to create a new category first but it didn't work either. I would like to find the location folder on Windows to uninstall all those packs that didn't work and find a way for it to work ! Thanks a lot in advance for your help, joujou_tdj
  15. I'm a big fan of the liquify persona, one thing I would like is to have a rectangular or bar brush. When moving a far or body having a circular brush is not easy to operate on most things. It would work much better if a bar that can be rotated as needed was used to push the pixels rather than the round brush.
  16. I saw a post on one of the Affinity Facebook pages the other day where someone was trying to have a rough texture frame, but the corners wouldn't meet up. These brushes solve that problem without having to double up the frame. More 'image' brushes in the works... Always want to hear new ideas!!! https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/1260823543/15-textures-and-frames-vector-brushes?click_key=56b2724b8a72e966b8fea7d8a8c078c622364d75%3A1260823543&click_sum=e891876c&ref=shop_home_active_1
  17. Hola! GRACIAS!!
  18. I know this is gonna sound weird but does anyone one know how to convert a .tpl (tool preset library) file containing brushes to a .abr or .afbrush file? Belt Brushes

Ok... very Random, but I was asked if I could create a Belt Vector Brush.... so I did https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/1246948458/belt-vector-brushes-for-affinity?click_key=9379b719b29ab870d2aeb50c272116d891061dc9%3A1246948458&click_sum=8957fb93&ref=shop_home_active_1

  22. I work on a PC, Windows 10, have the 1.10.5.1342 version of Affinity Photo. I edited a brush and though it shows the changes in the brush panel, when I use it the changes don't take. I just get a line of the image. It's the jitter. It is set for pressure but I'm using a mouse and it never bothered before. I tried the other choices and they don't work either. I exited and tried again on a new document and with different brushes a couple times. Same thing happened. Here's an example. So what did I do wrong this time?
  23. All brushes are made with raster geometric shapes (on vector curves) over which I applied various opacities, blur intensity levels and other effects. I’ve been using them for vector illustration as shading brushes with iPad Pro, Apple Pencil and the “vector brush tool”. Max tail offset is 600px. Width is set at 100px for all brushes (modify according to your needs). They can be used for anything with no worry. All the best! shading brushes.afbrushes
  24. Affinity Designer, my presets don't save and basic brushes are gone As the title says. If i go to bushes and select the BASIC brushes. All are gone but 1. Also i made about 15 presets for easy setup. When I reopen DESIGNER this morning they are gone. Any thoughts? Gary
  25. In Affinity Designer, under the vector persona, on a vector layer, using the vector brush I have the option of using some pencil brushes. Are these truly vector? I draw a line, the line itself is editable but is it truly generating vector texture or applying raster texture to my vector line work? IF say, I want to create hand lettered logos in vector with a realistic pencil texture is this the way to go or will that texture actually be unscalable raster? I’ve tried selecting drawn lines and “creating curve” and “expanding stroke” but either way, it just looks like the texture is not converting to a shape, instead it appears raster... Any insights appreciated! Thank you!
