  1. Hi, I have bought affinity designer at Microsoft Store, because when buying on the official web it failed. Can I still get a free vector brushes bonus and key product? hanks and regards, Riswan Ratta.
  2. So I've recently encountered a problem where I'm unable to rotate brushes a full 360 degrees This is making it impossible to rotate my brushes fully around since they rotate only 180 degrees Is this a bug or am i missing something ?
  3. I downloaded some brushes, meaning to install them in Affinity Photo. Without thinkng I double-clicked and they appear to have been installed using the default app with was Affinity Publisher. It said it was successful. Questions: have they really been installed in Affinity Publisher and, if so, how do I delete them please? Where are they? Needless to say I feel a bit of a fool! Thanks.
  4. Hello ! I have such a problem. I purchased brushes on your official Affinity website(Eleni Debo illustration brush pack)When imported, they do not appear in the panel with brushes. What to do ? I was terribly upset IMG_4681.MP4
  5. Hello, every time I re-open a file, the (Painting-) Brush-Size resets to 64 px. Is ist somehow possible to keep the brush-size as it was when closing and re-opening a file? I checked in settings etc but couldnt find anything. Thanks for any help and thanks for this really great alternative to photoshop!!! Stefani
  6. Been shuffling some hard drives around after a failure, and just want to copy all the brushes I've imported into AP to the new install. Can't locate the brushes. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks!
  7. Wouldn't it be great if someone made a set of brushes like these for Affinity? Or maybe you know of a set like these: https://www.mightydeals.com/deal/zen-fine-liner-art-mandala-creator.html?ref=ognews&refNL=bottom_signup P.S. This isn't a promo for anyone. It's the only way I had of showing what I'm referring to.
  8. I have a question please about width and hardness adjustments in Affinity Photo paint brushes. I know dragging the cursor side to side changes width, and up and down adjusts hardness. But when I rotate the canvas (as seen under View>Rotate Left or View>Rotate Right) to work on a piece from different angles, the required motions to change brush width & hardness seem to reverse. They don’t remain constant relative to the user once the canvas is rotated. Is there an option somewhere to keep these motion commands consistent, relative to the user, for any given working angle?
  9. Hello there, As much as I'm loving the new Brush Editor features, there's a bug that's been around since the current stable Designer and Photo versions. I've reported it a couple of times already and I hope this issue gets addressed, because it really ruins the experience when using advanced features from the brush panel. When you add the Wet Edges option to a brush (from the editor), this option gets deactivated or non-recognized back when switching tools using the brush command key (B) and many times, when selecting the brush manually from the brushes panel. Let's say I need to erase something; I switch to the Eraser using (E), then I want to go back to my brush using (B) and when I do that, Wet Edges are switched off automatically, unless I double-select that brush... then, Wet Edges are back on. It totally ignores the stored brush settings. This affects dramatically the way brushes were originally designed. Thank you!
  10. Created a new set of small paint brushes for detailed texture work Zip file contains 30 brushes (3 pack x 10) PDF sample file added Paint Brushes S1 P1-P3.zip PAINT Brushes Set 1-01-03.pdf
  11. When using the vector brush and trying to adjust the pressure curve the stroke doesn't respond. I had the same issue earlier when using Affinity Designer on my iPad. Only after reassigning the brush to the stroke through the Brushes panel was I able to edit the pressure curve. Please see the attached video for example. Edit: I forgot to add that the brush was unresponsive to pressure applied while drawing the stroke with a pen tablet. brush-pressure.mov
  12. Aside from having the ability to change your brush view in the Brushes panel from a list to a grid/icons, it would be really nice to be able to rearrange the brush categories. Every time new brushes are added, they are added in a new category at the bottom of the category list, but that category then can't be moved up or down. This removes the ability to (for example) move all of my inking brush categories closer together and all of my painting brush categories together, to keep things tidy and organised. Basically, in the same way you can move brushes up and down in the category list, it would be great to be able to do this with the brush categories themselves too. Not a big deal, but it would be a handy little addition to the brushes panel that would be nice to see in a future update - I also can't imagine it being very difficult to implement something like this.
  13. Hello... fairly new to Affinity. I like it a lot. I checked the tutorials, and I could not figure out how to do this. I figured there are probably different methods, so I wanted some general help. I tried to upload the jpg, and it gave me a -200 error. So I uploaded the afphoto document instead. In this photograph of a red-winged starling in Cape Town, South Africa, there is a leaf from a palm tree in front of the bird. What can you recommend as the best way to remove this leaf, and fill in the area with the blackish color of the bird. You are welcome to download the document and tinker with it, and send it back to me. I look forward to your response. 2019_10a_Cape_Town-005.afphoto
  14. I'm pretty sure dispersion brushes were available in Photo at one point but they have disappeared from my version in the Mac Book Pro. I have the latest version. I tried the control key reset trick and searched the web and this forum. Has anyone else run in to this? TIA
  15. Organic texture Brushes Pack 1 Version 2.0 I have been working on updating the original texture brush packs so that it complies with more recent uploads The original 11 brush packs(.zip) files have been removed and replaced with a single file containing all the original brush packs so that they are stil accessible Added a new set now containing 12 brush packs (120 brushes) also in a single file for download. Made significant changes to the original brushes a. simplified the nozzles by removing the intense pattern overlays and added 28 new additional png files to increase pattern variation. b. Reduced the initial size of the some of the original brushes. c. Adjusted the brush dynamics to allow for use of flow and accumulation in the general brush tab d. Where possible reduced the reliance on random size variation in brush dynamics d. Added sample 4 page PDF for download e. Removed original sample images (11) and replaced with just 4 enjoy! 16. My most needed brushes are gone after 1.8.0! My Ipad app udated itself when I was working my art and now I can't finish my work. You just can't delete brushes! I want those brushes back! They where one of the default brushes in spray and patterns category. Now there are some new burshes but those what I really need on my work are gone. How can I get them back?
  17. Hi, I tried asking my question in another topic: But since nobody responded, I'm trying my luck here. So, I got a fresh install of AD, version 1.7. And when I try to draw with a vector brush there is a lag between my actual movements and the time it appears as a stroke on my canvas. There is no problem with pixel brushes in Pixelmode. I use a MacBook Air (2015) runs on Mojave (10.14.6). 1.6 GHZ i5, 8GB/1600 MHz/DDR3. So I looked at my settings in AD and unticked the metal compute box. I set the dropdown to OpelGL. I set my document to web-RGB/8 en 72 dpi. But no change. I also have an old version of Adobe Illustrator (CS5). When painting there with vector brushes there is no lag. So it's not the performance of my laptop, so it seems. I use a Wacom Bamboo, but also with just the MacBooks trackpad it has the same lag. Any suggestions for me to try?
  18. Hi folks! It's time to update this thing... The same set, suitable for cartoonists, character designers and comic artists. Now it is composed of: 4 layout tools 1 standard pencil and 3 layout pencils embedding typical colors like blue, red and green (you don't need to choose it from color picker). Now with tilt for shading effect! 8 Inkers G pens, trapezoid shaped and Sumi-e variants! All these tools are sensitive to pen pressure and tilt. Hope you'll enjoy it! Grab it here! PS. The old one is still here DAUB_Comics Basic Set.zip
  19. Hi! I want to share with you this small set of pencils. Some of these tools feature Angle (Tilt) variance but you need a tablet that support it. Don't have so much inspiration today to add some samples, but will do it for sure later This set doesn't work on iPad because required settings are not yet there. It will work with proper textures once the matching of iOS/Desktop version has been completed. Hope you'll enjoy it! Happy sketching! UPDATE Just uploaded a v1.1 with these two new pieces Some things to know... This new release works with MAS versions of Affinity range, but to have proper tilt dynamic latest Beta of AP or AD is needed. Special thanks to Andy Somerfield for custom ramps... 20. Hi, this is a problem we have some time by most beta's that several PS brushes loading very slow, you can't change format of the brush when in use. This happend with mouse and/or painttablet. The brush format in this case is mostly around the 2500 pixel. Lower format around 1000 px is working perfect. Tested in beta 1.8.0.555 with windows ink on and off
  21. I use the wacom Intuos 4 tablet,in 445 the problem is again there brushes from 2500 px are lagging and loading very bad. With the mouse its not a problem. And yes I have the leatest wacom drivers. Are there others with this?
  22. Hello, I'm new to Affinity Designer so please excuse me if I'm missing something obvious but I have two issues after downloading Christi's Comic Toolbox from the Affinity store: 1: Although Designer says I have imported 36 brushes, I can't see them anywhere, i.e. in the brushes menu. I assumed they'd be added as their own category, or distributed among the existing categories as relevant but can't see them anywhere. 2: Designer won't let me import or open the assets pack and says it isn't an Affinity document. (pic of the message attached) Any help appreciated.
  23. I made those brushes in my old projects, time to share them here. Enjoy! MS-Lines_AD_AP_Brushes.zip
  24. Tried to make some brushes, hope you like them. One flower(Hepatica / Kidneywort / Liverwort / Liverleaf / Liverflower / American liverwort / Roundlobe hepatica) And one Root, or evil 😈 thorns, made by me. Root Flower_01 FraGar.afbrushes
