  1. Being able to customize shortcuts would be incredibly useful, but if that is not posible then a Mixer brush shortcut would be nice, I use the Mixer brush quite often, and I also use the eye dropper as often, however having a shortcut for the eye dropper seems redundant to me, as I have to touch the screen again for the mixer brush, so I had an idea Have the Alt/Option key change the shortcut thing B : Brush Alt+B : Pixel Brush Alt+B * 2 : Mixer Brush Alt+B * 3 : Colour replacement Brush And if the "- * 2" or "- * 3" cant be coded in, lets instead use the other keys we have, "alt + shift + [key]", "alt + ctrl + [key]", "shift + ctrl + [key]" Thank you
  2. Hello Affinity Team, I have a problem with the function "vector brush" or brush on curve and I wanted that my created brush is anchored horizontally instead of turning in the vector curve. My idea was that with the Vector or Curve I get more influence on the drawn objects like brush width, Size Variance etc. without the objects changing their angle position. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find a switch yet. Is this a case for your to-do list or do you already have this feature in the feature roadmap? Here are some examples when I assign a brush to a curve: Actual result : Expected result: Actual result : Expected result: Actual result : Expected result: Actual result : Expected result: Brush live arranged: Approach to my drawing idea which unfortunately didn't work out:
  3. Hi, since last update, I can't move my brush size ! Slider does not work at all. Is there a way to fix that? I'm on the latest version of Affinity for iPad. And I'm working on an iPad pro 12.9 OSX 12.2. Thx for your answer.
  4. Hello, first I'm very happy to see amongst other things that it's possible to rotate a brush - wonderful! But I don't see a possibility to mirror a brush which would be very useful. Please put in this with a next update! Greetings Martin
  5. On the help pages of Affinity, it shows me these shortkeys to resize brush width, etc. (see attachment) Being on windows, holding the right mouse key and alt, then moving my cursor doesn't do anything! What am I missing?
  6. I read that the windows shortcut for brush size and hardness are holding Alt + Right Mouse Button and then dragging left/right or up/down. However this is not working for me. Am I doing something wrong?
  7. Follow this link to see a video that demonstrates this sugggested feature visually. This would be a brush feature adjustment that is a bit more “free” and intuitive than our current ability to adjusted vector lines with the pressure curve. This tool would allow us to grab our vector lines and push and pull them from any point on the individual vector without affecting any of the other vectors in the document. After seeing Kyle Webster working in this way in Adobe Animate, I thought, “Surely we could have a tool like this in Designer that could be even better.”
  8. Hi all, My name is Andrew and I'm graphic designer of Eurosud Cataldi srl (in Italy). Today I have notice that my pen not work proprely in Affinity Designer only (work very good with Affinity photo and Krita). My pen not cover all the screen in AD and when I go left for select vector brush it jump on right side of the screen. How is possible that few days ago it have worked relly good and now is broken? Can anyone help me please? PS: I have two monitor and all pc driver updated. Sorry for bad English
  9. I cant apply to a path any stroke width, nor change brush shape nor change stroke colour. I can only apply fill colour. Similar situation is when I try to change stoke width and colour to the artistic text or defined shapes like rectangles or ellipses. I found that this problem disappears when I apply no colour to a stroke, and then I can apply any stroke width, brush and colour.
  10. Is there a way to disable the opacity shortcut when using the number keys (1-9)? I use Affinity software for digital painting and illustration, and I keep accidentally hitting '3' instead of 'E' for the eraser and changing my brush opacity to 30% by mistake. I've also assigned Cmd+1 and Cmd+2 to rotate my canvas left and right, but the same problem here - I keep accidentally changing my brush opacity in the process if I don't perfectly press Cmd together with the number key. I don't use the number keys to set opacity of my brush anyway, so I would love to disable and/or customise those shortcuts to accommodate my workflow better, but I can't seem to find those keys anywhere in the Keyboard Shortcuts panel. I wouldn't recommend removing this shortcut for those who use it, but perhaps having the option to customise it would be helpful? Thanks in advance.
  11. Are other people still having problems with this? I'm using Affinity Designer on a MacBook Pro with MacOs Mojave. I was using version 1.6 and couldn't get the hardness to adjust when in pixel mode on Designer. Then I saw the update to 1.7 was available and thought perhaps that would solve the problem. It didn't. I've tried adjusting hardness both with the ctrl+alt shortcut and with the toolbar. Rebooted my computer and nothing. Reset brushes in preference and nothing. Just opened up Affinity Photo and found the same problem there. I'm using a Wacom Intuos 5 in case that driver might be messing with things. I'm not sure what else to say. I've only been using it for a short time, but hardness has never worked for me. Help?
  12. Just gave up photoshop and purchased affinity photo & designer. But when I went to work on an illustration I'm encountering. Flickering black screen Brush paint under previous brush strokes, in the image attached the yellow wound up being painted beneath the black, no idea why. Jagged outlines around the brush strokes. I have a wacom mobilepro 16, drivers are updated. So is the OS. So far this is not a good experience. Hope there's a fix? Or an explanation? Thank you

    Importing Brushes

So I’ve tried searching the forum and I can’t find anything (at least to the best of my ability) on this, yet I see a lot about this online. I’m trying to import brushes in AP and they show up as a gray file no matter what I do on iPad Pro. It’s driving me crazy. Everything is unzipped and it’s an .abr file. What am I doing wrong?!
  14. Hello, While painting, one of my biggest concerns since always has been that due to the nature of the engine, the whole canvas' pixels would kind of vibrate/pixelate or move around somehow, for I believe, engine optimization reasons. While I see it fine (and common in other apps) when zooming, while just laying brush strokes, painting, I quite very much dislike it. Still, am painting now with Photo .293 customer beta, and I'm not noticing any of these effects. Has that been -happily- removed, this optimization? Or it just depends on the case or illustration, and I might not be noticing now ? Would be important to know this. Everything is working great. Is performing really (outstandingly, even) fast on a really large canvas (yes, in this bad machine). But wouldn't love to find out the "effect" appears in some situations later on, or gets noticeable then. Thank you.
  15. I'm a Photoshop user, but have gotten irritated by the bogged down app for the last few years. I found this app and am loving it so far. Only used it for an hour but hey! I'm trying to use the brush tool with SHIFT to constrain in the hor. or vert. but that apparently is for drawing a straight line from the last point the brush was. This would be fine except to do a pure vert or hor is hard with this method. Is there a key or alternative way to draw a straight line with the brush tool? I know I could use a line tool.... *shrug* Thanks!
  16. So there's a setting in Photoshop called transfer that I use religiously. Is there a setting in Affinity (or is a setting being planned in a future update) that I can use that would produce something similar?? I found another thread about this but I'm looking for more recent answers.... I tried setting "flow" to be affected by pen pressure, but the result is too different from what I'm looking for. I'd also be okay with a Photoshop plugin of... some sort, that might allow me to do something similar... I'm just so desperate for Affinity Photo to replace Photoshop for me. I refuse to pay monthly for something I wouldn't use monthly! Anything helps
  17. texture brushes have always been a bit of a hassle to make, and I am really digging your brush UI over PS's. Something that would be really cool and handy as an artist making brushes on the fly would be to allow me to, instead of making and saving a file for the brush head, just let me draw it in the box you have under base texture and take it from there. Even better, let me go back and edit that brush head later as is needed. This would be absolutely amazing for work flow, and it's something I haven't seen yet. I'm a couple days into the trial and loving this software, please keep it up!
  18. If I pick a different brush and move the cursor from the brush panel to the canvas quickly, the new brush won't be picked. It's quite annoying that I have to select and wait before I can paint with the new brush.
  19. I have created custom image brushes (both in black and in white) on a transparent background. Using the Paint Brush Tool, they paint ONLY in the color they were created (black or white). I am unable to change them so they would pain in any other color. All other brushes, do change color as expected. How can I correct this so I can use the custom brushes with other colors? What am I doing wrong? Mac OS 10.13.6, Affinity Photo 1.6.7
  20. In Affinity Designer, how do you convert a vector brush stroke to a curve. Yes, the stroke itself is a curve, but with the brush applied it has texture (width, scratches, drop-outs, etc.) in the stroke. I'd like to take the "rendered" vector stroke and convert it to an outline curve (kind of like converting a text letter to a curve). How is this done?
  21. Is there a way to insert/create a copyright/watermark in Affinity Photo please?
  22. I'm using Affinity Photo and I'd like to stroke a rectangular or circular (or any other selection) shape. I haven't figured out how to do it… I've made the selection with the rectangular marquee tool. In Photoshop, this operation is really easy but I'm stuck in AP. Thanks for your help.
  23. I'm trying to just get a basic brush but everything that says 'reset' doesn't rest them (under more button and also under preferences pane)...any other ideas or is this a bug?
  24. I would like to know if it is possible to add masked options for the sub brush feature. Basically like dual brush in Photoshop or masked brush in Krita, where the sub brushes will be masked to the shape of the main brush, and won't exceed the edge of the main brush. I think the closer comparison would be Paintstorm Studio, as Paintstorm's double brush allows two brush to be drawn at the same time, and there is an option to mask the second brush to the first brush. Maybe, for the masked brush, there can be options to use blending modes when merging the brush together, as I'm not sure if it is doable currently.
  25. Hi, Lets say I have an object with a brush applied to it. I come back to work on the same image a few days later. How do I find out which brush I used? When I select the object you would expect the corresponding brush to become selected in the brushes panel but it does not. The tooltip in the brushes panel gives you the name of the brush, but no where can i find the name of the brush applied to the object.... Do you see my predicament here? I downloaded a lot of brushes and I usually change the stroke size of an object after applying the brush, I really need to be able to find the same brush within the many brushes on my computer!
