  1. Hi, This is the feature I miss: B&W mode. This file format is very convenient in preparation for printing. Could that be possible? Thanks! Ps: By the way, I really like this program and Im very happy that finally I have it for PC.
  2. Hi, I'm very sorry for asking this question but it's been driving me insane in the last 2 days. So I have this png file of a bunch of icons, they are all black and white. I want to colorize them to make them super pretty :D Looks like this So I then: 1) flattened the doc just to be sure. There's only one, unlocked PIXEL layer 2) set the color format to RGB16 3) converted the ICC profile to RGB generic 4) selected a part of the (only) layer using the square selection tool 5) pressed the adjustement panel/button and selected "HSL" .... nothing happens. This is odd because it works just fine using a color image (I regularly change eye colors and stuff like that without any issue) So something tells me that affinity doesn't consider black to be a color, but of course if i try to pain over the black it doens't take the aliasing into account and looks terrible. I tried 'filling' the black space with a different color and that doenst replace the black either, it just paints on top (and badly so). So in a nutshell what i want is replace the black and all its gradients of grey that forms the antialiasiang to say, red with gradients of red. I hope this makes sense, again, sorry for the n00b question!
  3. I am trying the Beta of Affinity Designer for Windows and I really love it! It's great for someone like me who just cannot afford Photoshop or Illustrator. However I am having one issue. It is difficult to see your cursor crosshair in dark backgrounds because the crosshair is black. Why is it black with no white outlines? I can't see the crosshair when there is a dark background behind it! It makes it hard to see what I'm doing. I have looked in the preferences and I just cannot find any option to change the colors. Affinity, please consider this request and please add a white outline around the crosshair, or have the crosshair use the inverted colors from the background.
  4. ALL TIFFS WILL EXPORT CORRUPTED BLACK AND GREYED OUT..REOPEN CORECTLY IN AP OR PSCC YES RESTARTED AND REBOOTED YES WHAT CAN BE DONE TO STABILIZE AP? HARDWARE CONFIGURATIONS AND SCREENSHOT WITH BLACK PREVIEWS ATTACHED
  5. I'm trying to turn a colour photograph (It's of the Forth Rail Bridge in Scotland) into a Black & White one however… having done that, I want to bring back some of the red parts of the bridge. I would also like to do this 'Dash of Red' in other photographs too perhaps even some where there wasn't any red in the original colour photograph. Is this possible and what is the best way to proceed? - Much'O Thanks for any help given. ~
  6. Hello. I am thrilled to learn about Affinity Designer, Photo, and soon also Publisher! From the tutorials, these seem like great programs, and from what I have read, the software is of top quality that rivals or exceed Adobe graphics programs. I am very excited about Affinity! I also hear about the amazing responsiveness of Affinity to consumer needs. For instance, I hear that the cost per program is not excessive at about $50, that the programs are designed to be wholly compatible with Mac OS X El Capitan on the iMac or the new Mac Pro, that Affinity will not be going to the Cloud, and that all software updates to new program versions are free; it is bought once. I am delighted to hear this. Can it be true? Please send me an email to confirm this. Any further information would be welcome. For instance, does Serif have plans to create Affinity video editing software? I have one small concern that is important to me. I have noticed that in every Affinity screen I have seen so far, the entire on-screen area of the program is colored black, except for the actual artwork or photo. I would like the option to choose other colors than black for these areas. What other colors are now available, and if no others, will this feature be included in updates in the near future? Thank you!
  7. Hello. I want to change the colours of this drawing and more specifically I want to make the lifework white and the background blue, light blue, red etc from top to bottom. Which app should I use? Affinity designer or Photo? What would be the optimal procedure? Antikythera mechanism final.pdf
  8. Hi, Could i request a shortcut to be added to reset the color swatch back to Black & White like it is in PS. The shortcut for that is D. If we have one already can you please let me know what it is? :) Thanks!
  9. I have a question concerning colour. When I create a new Affinity Designer document, the Default Black colour isn't 100% Black, it is 72 Cyan, 68 Magenta, 67 Yellow and 88 Black. Why that colour? If it was "registration" (100% of all colours) I could understand but it isn't. It is odd because I have set the colour space to be CMYK when I created the document. Is this a bug or is it supposed to be that way? For someone who has experience working with images for print it isn't as much of a problem (it is annoying but can be dealt with) but for someone who doesn't quite understand the printing process this could be a problem. On screen it looks black but if it were to be printed commercially, it wouldn't look so good.
