Bicubic resampling is a good, universal resampling method and definitely should be made a default choice (or at least an option) in Affinity Photo. While we may found it in export window, next to more advanced Lanczos options, it seems logical to include it on a canvas level, in View Quality settings. Also it would be great to see it being added as an option in Designer and Publisher as well for the sake of consistency. As of now, in all three apps, we're limited to use Bilinear which doesn't provide the same level of visual quality and details precision especially while zooming in and out, resizing objects.

Hello-- I've read about half a dozen threads related to this, but none hit on my exact question: I've got a 150x100 canvas (creating a logo, by working two logos together) and am importing one of the logos which is quite large. After dragging it in, I want to size it down significantly (to 150 wide) and to do so using bicubic. I can drag the corners, yes, but it looks terrible once done (I understand the default isn't bicubic). I can change the values of the dimensions in the Transform menu, but again there's no ability to change it to bicubic first. Where does this adjustment live? Thanks a lot, JC

As much as I like AP, there is sometimes this last step that makes me go mad. The export. It seems that can't get a quality export from AP. I tried all resample settings and in the end I just get mad and remember that I never hat to think about it in PS. This is a 1669 X 1669 px 400dpi PDF coming from AD I try to get crisp at 565px 144dpi or 72dpi. I'm aware that it won't be that crisp but these exports are unacceptable. I tried bilinear, bicubic and the others. I don't get a crisp image and I should go out for a walk before writing further. http://shahin.de/AP/Screen_Shot_From_AD.png http://shahin.de/AP/KFL_565_72dpi_Bicubic.jpg http://shahin.de/AP/KFL_565_72dpi_Bilenar.jpg http://shahin.de/AP/KFL_565_72dpi_Lanczos01.jpg http://shahin.de/AP/KFL_565_72dpi_Lanczos02.jpg

Dunno why you choose Bilinear as default interpolation method for image resampling, but it almost never produces good results on common full-colour images. There should be Bicubic, as it results in much better output for decreasing image size (which I suppose is the most used operation). Or at least provide an option in Preferences to choose as default. Anyway, great software, though with some imperfections.
