  1. Is there a way to batch convert from .afphoto format to jpeg or others. I have done a lot of editing work and all of my photos saved as .afphoto and now I would like to convert without doing one at a time.,
  2. Working with Web design i often need to eport several different png graphics ... i would like to know if there is a way to click/select an object to create atutomatically artboards or slices in the precise dimenson of the object/group, so when i export a PNG file the image does not leaves a gap or borders. Is there a way to do this?
  3. Hello support, I am encountering a problem in Affinity Photo 1.9.2.1035 in Windows 10 20H2 x64. I want to process a batch of 245 RAW-files made with my Nikon Z6 (.NEF with a file size of 28-32 MB per file) with the following options: - Save file to a different folder - convert to JPEG using standard settings (quality 100) As long as I do not activate the "parallel processing" option, everything runs fine, but somewhat slow since the pictures are processed one by one. As soon as I activate the option, 32 files will be processed simultaneously (32 CPU Threads), but no picture will be saved. Every file will have the "I am working" animation (see marker in example image attached), but it will run forever. The RAM usage is approx. 43GB then. My machine contains the following parts: - AMD Ryzen 9 5950X (16 Cores / 32 Threads) - 64GB DDR4-3600 CL16 - Gigabyte X570 Mainboard - AMD Radeon RX6900XT 16GB - source disc: Samsung 1TB 980 Pro SSD (NVME) - target disc: Corsair MP510 1TB SSD (NVME) - newest drivers and Windows updates Is the "parallel processing" not working a normal behaviour? Is this option designed for machines with far more CPU cores (e.g. workstations with 64C/128T) or is this a probably a buggy behaviour? Thank you very much for your answer and your investigation. Regards from Germany!
  4. Hi Guys, a strange thing, one of my users wanted to load a serie images to make a hdr with the hdr batch. But it ask only for AP file format. This is also by a file batch... I see on my desktop only the AP format, but can load normal jpg files to it. has someone this before? He used versie 1.10.5.1342 on the laptop and desktop (where it works). OS: win 10
  5. Hi, I am processing the photos from our last trip, coming from lightroom i am wondering if it is possible to export multiple files at once? I googled around but didn't find any new relating topics. I cant imagine I have to export 100+ photos one by one? :) Just bought the program, looks very promising!
  6. Friends, I'm using Affinity Designer 1.10.4 on a Mac Mini running Big Sur 11.6 and a client send me lots of icons to fix line width and size. When I open the file, I have 3 art boards full of icons. I'm trying to do the easy parts first and then go to the complex ones. In my mind set, all icons at a same height and width is a matter of selecting all and apply the correct size, right? I mean you can do that practically on any design app out there (Inkscape, Acorn, Vectornator, Pixelmator, Illustrator and many others) How can I do this in Designer?? I tried all the things that come to my mind with no success at all. Do I need to create a macro? Using a third party app like Keyboard Maestro? Any help or solution will be greatly appreciated to it.
  7. I'm sure this is a simple task, Sorry to bother...I'm just getting started with Affinity, moving from CSS5. I have several photos loaded, have edited. I want to automate saving and closing the files. Seems I need to export. I tried creating a batch, but it seems as opposed to PS, batches apparently do not work on already loaded and edited photos (at least not that I can tell). So I tried creating a macro, but it said a macro cannot export. Any suggestions?
  8. Hello! I just watched a fantastic YouTube video about how to use batch to add watermark to a lot of photos at once*. I tried to use it on a pdf I created using Designer, and it added the watermark to the first page only. I then tried the same batch job using a Designer file, and it did not work at all. Is there a way to do a batch to add watermarks to every page of many Designer files at once? Thank you! *ETA: using Affinity Photo
  9. Affinity designer on iPad really misses the ability to export any slice/layer with multiple file formats. While this is possible on desktop, on iPad I have to select all the slices and to set the format every time I need to export in more than one file format. This is extremely frustrating when for example I have to provide multiple images in both PDF and JPEG. And since I use specifically the iPad version because of the ease with which I can illustrate and compose images using the Apple Pencil, the export persona really needs to be as performing as the desktop version.
  10. Sadly, not available for Mac but this image converter will batch convert between many formats including vector formats. Converseen Converseen is an open source batch image converter and resizer for Linux and Windows. It supports more than 100 image formats and you can convert and resize an unlimited number of images to any of the most popular formats. Features Mutiple image conversion Multiple image resizer More than 100 different image formats Convert PDF to image files https://sourceforge.net/projects/converseen/
  11. Hi all, I’m just curious more than anything, ive always had an issue with batch processing. All I use it for is to take my AFPhoto files and batch convert them to JPEGS. I find that no matter the size of the job my iMac crashes. Even if it’s five images my Mac full on freezes and eventually shuts down and restarts. I don’t get a kernel panic in the logs but it’s clearly what’s happening. Does anyone else find this happens or have any other ideas so that I can convert with out having to do them one by one.
  12. Hi All, we have a huge image-folder with thousands of PSD files which we want to batch export to PNG. While Affinity Photo does this quickly we run into limits with the GUI – as seemingly one can only add files to the job with the OS-default browse dialog (win10 in our case). We want to process several hundreds of images at once – and the Windows native file picker which doesn't work with file-metadata totally isn't up to the task. All image in our folder are cleanly grouped with keywords – it would be super simple to drag and drop all similar assets to the processing queue – but unfortunately this method seems not to be supported at this time. Is there possibly another way to access the batch tool, where drag and drop is supported? We for overall workflow reasons prefer not to create subfolders, merely for exporting.
  13. I would like to export separate layers of a file as png or jpeg to a specified folder. Is that possible and can It be done as a batch export command in or out of the Photo Affinity software? Thank you Justin --
  14. I'm fairly new to Affinity Designer. I've imported a Illustrator document into Designer. The file contains a bunch of artboards (which show as Pages in Designer). I am able to export these one at a time, however, is there a way I can batch export these with a specific height?
  15. Hi, I'd like to batch export image files, mostly JPG, to Webp if possible. I'm guessing this is more possible in Photos than Designer, but I have purchased both—for macintosh—and I'm good either way :) In Photos, I see 5 batch Saves (AFPHOTO/JPG/PNG/PSD/OPENXXR). Is it possible to save as Webp for web optimization? Or if there are add-ons/plugins that can do this? Thanks for your great software and for your time!
  16. If I enter a percentage scaling for with or high the input in the batch dialogue it would be ignored, no rescaling happened. If this feature ist not possible, i expect a feadback and not only a "done" after pressing OK.
  17. Hello all I evaluate AP 1.7 as a replacement for Lightroom but run in some very basic problems with raw file development. 1. When I develop one single raw file (DNG from Lightroom) AP writes a huge file (121MB versus 19MB original). This is no good. Is there a way to save the adjustments done in a fair way without using the alternative formats like tif, jpg etc. ? 2. I want to develop several raw files (DNG from Lightroom) at once with a batch process and saving them in jpg or tif for further processing. However, I do not manage to apply the individually made macro in Photo Persona to process the RAW files in Photo Develop, although I can select the macro. Possibly the macros are not compatible? How can I process several raw files the same way? 3. Is it still not possible in AP to save adjustments made in single raw files in an undestructive way? Thank you for your helpful answers. Best regards,
  18. The Batch Job feature in Affinity Photo is great, but one crucial feature that's missing is the ability to select multiple folders and subfolders and all the images inside automatically being added to the list. The whole idea of the Batch Job is to save time from manual labour, and sometimes having to go through tens of folders and subfolders and manually selecting all image files to be batch processed is a very manual and time consuming process. Thanks
  19. Good morning, Can anyone steer me in the right direction? I am a reasonably good amateur photographer with decent kit (Canon EOS 7D Mk11), but far short of being a professional. However I do a bit of photo journalism for a couple of classic yachting magazines. I have been using Affinity Photo for around a year now and am slowly getting the hang of it! My question is this: What do most of you do with a session's (say a day's) worth of shots, do you go through each one and edit it in Affinity individually (there may be 100), or have you got some sort of "standard" batch process (maybe using a macro) which you use as a "pre-processing" operation; if so can someone suggest a method? Regards Chris
  20. I'm always big on batch processing and an efficient export workflow. I've spent quite a bit of time trying to get the most out of AD 1.5 exporting - but i'm still mystified at what Batch Builder actually does. No help on it. No google returns outside of the feature list saying: Batch Builder for multi-slice imagesets (Xcode asset JSON) And it seems to be very oriented around touch icons - is there scope for more? Please affinity, let us in on the secret?
  21. I have hundreds of images of various sizes, mostly very large sizes, that I want to resize to a maximum width of 1920px, at 72DPI, RGB colour mode, JPG format. The height should be variable since the original images have various heights as well and I need to keep the aspect ratio to prevent distortions. (1)is this possible with Affinity Photo? (2)what would be the steps for the resizing to record as a macro. (I tried recording resizing one image and then use that recording for a batch job but AP used also a fixed height on every image resulting in many distorted images)
  22. I had posted a revised a set of macros to resize an image to a fixed maximum size, whilst preserving the aspect ratio. Recently I have been creating macros that resize an image to fit in a frame of a specific size, in this example 3000 by 2000, see here. Resizing to a fixed maximum is essentially the same as fitting the image into a square frame. After some suggestions, especially from @anon2 and @Lagarto, I realised that a simple batch job would do what was required without using macros. For a fixed maximum, enter this value in both the W and H fields of the Batch Job. Even if there is only a single file to process, this is probably simpler than calling a macro (after you have called up View > Studio > Macro or Library and dismissed them afterwards). This also has the advantage that you can specify the target file location and type. One snag I have noticed is a certain loss of sharpness after the resizing. This could be resolved by including a macro to apply a light sharpen as part of the batch job. I am unsure, however in what order the resizing and the macro are applied. It would make a big difference! Note that this simple solution will not work should you want to resize your image to a specific minimum size. John
  23. I'm new to Infinity although I used to use Serif Page Plus from the very first version years ago. Great to find a suite of one-time purchase design and editing programs - I've bought all three - that I can use on my new MacBook Pro. Although searching through Help and the forum, I am having trouble finding out how to SAVE a Batch Process set of instructions. Do I really have to set it up from scratch each time I want to run it? Also I can't seem to reduce the size of a mix of landscape and portrait photos without one dimension being squashed - I do have the A for Aspect ticked and have tried putting the same number in each of the W and H windows. I have also tried W/2 and H/2 as suggested in the boxes which didn't work for me and also 50%. Please can you tell me what I'm missing or doing wrong?
  24. Hi, I just started using Affinity Designer and I found one thing that significantly reduces my productivity (comparing to Inkscape). It is related to export of the vector image into multiple resolutions. On Android it is very common that one vector image is exported into multiple resolutions. Eg. launcher icon is exported into <project home>res/drawable-mdpi/ic_launcher.png with resolution 48x48px <project home>res/drawable-hdpi/ic_launcher.png with resolution 72x72px <project home>res/drawable-xhdpi/ic_launcher.png with resolution 96x96px ... Using Inkscape I made script exporting single drawing into multiple files. Is something similar possible with Designer? Thanks Tom
  25. Hi dear community, I hope someone can help me: I want to try batch processing for some jpg pictures in Affinity (photo persona). I worked a little bit with macros before and a saved some simple ones in the library (default), all working on jpeg. When opening the dialog "new batch job" the space where I´m supposed to choose the macros I want to use is empty ("available macros" as well as the space below that). What am I doing wrong? I am using the newest version 1.8.3 on Windows. Thanks a lot in advance for your support! Miriam
