  1. Affinity Designer Is there a way to export a large format banner say 16000mm x 2000mm into 16 panels 1000mm width using artboards without copying the image into each artboard? I've tried but keep getting blank artboards. Thanks
  2. This Saturday the Tour De France starts in Brussels and races trough my hometown (Overijse, Belgium). I made a huge banner (20 meter x 2,5 meter) completely in Designer. More of the designs and details can be seen on my website: https://www.willempirquin.be/portfolio/tour-de-france-druivenstreek/ (Also, 90% of all work on my website is made in Designer).
  3. Hi everyone, I am completley new to affinity and purchased both affinity photo and affinity design. I would really like to learn how to make flyers for clubs and events but am clueless as to what to do. I would really appreciate it if someone would be willing to teach me how to use either software to get this done. Thank you so much!
  4. Oh dear ... seeing the amount of excellent stuff that has been created on the site, I'm almost embarrassed to ask my question. Almost. It's quite simple, really, but it's just about driving me mad. Imagine - Draw a rectangle to simulate a long banner which is going to hang from a wall, with three eylets, top & bottom. Superimpose text. Now, when a real banner is hung, it will distort and droop where it is unsupported - ie. in between the eyelets. The text, of course, will distort with the banner. How do I do that in Designer? I can get the banner background itself to do it (sort of), but how about the text? Can't find anything in the tutorials which would help. I just KNOW I'm going to feel foolish when I'm told, but, at the moment, I'm willing to risk it !! Oh - just in case you haven't already guessed, this is my first outing with Designer.
  5. Hello, I am presenting my latest project: Information banner for the website - Black Friday 2017 Regards
  6. I was watching an awesome tutorial yesterday and want to review it, but cannot for the life of me locate it. It's on Composition. It has a beautiful model with clouds and pink petals blowing around her. Who remembers that beauty? Thanks in advance. Michael
  7. Hi guys! I was working on some social media ads for a client and created a simple template for all major social media ad sizes including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, Snapchat and Reddit. This is a simple file with art boards for all your ad designs. It could come in handy next time you need to create a simple promo banner or ad for a client. Cheers! Social Media Banner Ads.afdesign
  8. Hi there, What format should I save a large affinity design file to be sent to a printer and turned into a banner? I've been creating a banner for the local karate club, on and off, for some time now. I had to come onto this forum before regarding some issues with the stability of it, which have been sorted now... We've finally got it to where we like it, and would like to send it to the printer for a sample and ultimately printing. The banner is to be five metres wide and just under a meter tall. Every file I've sent them so far, they've been unable to open, has appeared pixelated or is too large for them to deal with... I've tried a .svg, .jpg and a .pdf. Please, can someone help? This might just kill me... I'll post links below to the dropbox files so you can take a look. https://www.dropbox.com/s/ff9qser123nsn1n/dojobannerprintvariant2.jpg?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/v49136o7yf9sfro/dojobannerprintvariant2.pdf?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/p4zbgyxlm15cx81/dojobannerprintvariant2.afdesign?dl=0 Thanks!!!
  9. A realistic grunge banner with a stylized eagle insignia 2, on Flickr Started in Designer, mostly used Photo. 3800x5578 Here is a link to the .afdesign file for this. It includes history and is about 9GB. Copyright Alex Poulsen 2016, copyright includes everything contained with the exception of the fabric texture. Includes the three vector designs. You are free to use the linked .afdesign as a tutorial for creating your own version, however similar the final product may be.

This is the cover of a sample pack and my FB banner (2nd and 3rd image). The cover was made on the pixel persona of AD with a light retouch on AP. And the banner was recently made on AP since I've just acquired the app. How it looks on FB. https://www.facebook.com/aurantiummusic/ Really love to make textures on AD and AP.
  12. Hi all, here is a recent client project and my first logo/illustration piece done in Designer. It's for the CD cover of the Derwent Brass, a brass band in the UK. The title of the disc is "Diversity" The idea here was to try to suggest or display some of the many instruments in a stylistic way that are included in the band as a grouping that forms the backdrop for the CD's title banner. My usual process was adhered to here, approved sketch followed by vector buildup of elements on separated layers. See below for screenshots. I made use of the "erase" blend mode to hide certain areas which worked perfectly. Each letter was "skewed" individually, to conform to the contours of the banner. Colour palette was kept to a minimum of blues and golds and a heavy black outline style was used to delineate and visually connect each element. As usual, it was a delight to create in Designer. I am looking forward to the up-coming distort and warp tools mentioned in the "road map" to be able to do more of this kind of work with type in Designer. :)
  13. Hi, As Affinity is a great tool to create web banners, could it be possible to integrate in the new document web presets, all the ads standard banners format (as defined by IAB Interactive Advertising Bureau)?
