  1. Is it to be expected, when I change the Spelling to None for a text frame, that nearly all typography options are lost? All other options on the Character panel of Language tab are set to Auto. As soon as I change to Cyrillic, Greek or Latin in the Typography script pulldown I get all the options back. Not what I would expect from the setting Auto.
  2. Nothing spectacular, something I noticed and surprised me. When I installed and opened the RC1 today, the recent file list was the one from the retail version. Same for AP and AD.
  3. Maybe already reported, can't find it. 1. Create A3 document. 2. Print on A4 paper with Fit Type "Shrink to Printable". 3. Add "Include crop marks". Result: The preview indicates, that the crop marks are outside the paper and they are indeed not on the paper when printed. If something does not fit to a paper this will be normally shown with a red area. Printer was Color Laserjet M751. See attached image.
  4. The best things will always be silently removed. In V1 it was possible to apply an arrowhead to a decoration, in V2 you can select an arrowhead, but it vanishes right after selection. Arrowheads in Decorations are in fact not completely removed in V2. Just copy arrow decorated text from V1 to V2 and the arrows appear in the Stroke popup of Decorations. You can change the size of the arrowheads, but not their type. Expected behaviour that arrowheads were removed?
  5. What I did: Made a text frame and placed an .afphoto (cropped in AP already) off-the-page, used the Vector Crop Tool on it and gave it text wrap Jump with 0 distance to text. Off the page the Jump text wrap has no impact on the text, only if I get a bit closer. If I move the image completely into the text the distance from image to text is also wrong. In the retail version the text was even wrapped, when touching the bleed area. If I want to edit the wrap outline it seems to be that the original size of the .afphoto is taken into account and not the vector cropped part in APu. But maybe the attached video shows better what I mean. textwrap.mp4
  6. Not really a bug or a small one, room for improvement. 1) Create a document with two pages. 2) Export and type 3 into the field Pages. Result: You will be informed, that the preview will be created and the estimated filesize is still being calculated at 100%.
  7. 1. Create a table. 2. Select some cells and give them a fill through the context toolbar from Swatches. Result: Fine 3. Select some cells and give them a fill through the context toolbar from Swatches. 4. Switch to the Colour tab, pick Tint, enter a value or move the slider, hit Return / Enter. Result: No colour change.
  8. Check spelling while typing is enabled. If you move a text frame with misspelled words off the page, they disappear from the Preflight panel, although they are red underlined to indicate a misspelling.
  9. I'd appreciate seeing some clarity on what can or cannot be done when it comes to merging documents if APub. Especially in relation to the "Add Pages from File..." under the Document menu. Using that option and having selected the file from which you wish to insert pages, you are given the option to add all pages, a range of pages, or a specified section from that file. Within the "receiving" document you have the option to insert the "incoming" pages before, after , or replacing a specified page or after the last page; or you can select to insert before, after, replacing or after the last page of a specified section within the receiving document. However, the process appears buggy. My test scenario - I have a "Sections Base Document" of 10 pages divided into sections with Section Manager. The document is set up with facing pages and has a simple Master (A) with a page header frame at the top and a page number frame at the bottom, populated by the section name and page number values from the References-> Fields panel. There are three single page sections in the middle of the document (named Placeholder 1/2/3). The concept being that each Placeholder page/section could be replaced with a separately produced document. So, I have a "Sections Insert Article" document with 4v pages of content and the same facing page/master page layout for the "Sections Base Document" as a single named section. My intention is to replace the Placeholder 1 section of the base document with the insert article. I use the "Add Page from File..." option on the base document, specifying that I want to add the single section from the "Sections Insert Article", replacing the "Placeholder 1" section of the base document. The results are mixed. The four pages are inserted. The page header of the inserted article is blank - while the frame is there (as seen in the Layers panel, it does not show any content. The inserted article section restarts the page numbering from 1 - OK, I can accept this, there is no way I can see of telling the section to continue the numbering, and it's easy to reset. The second and third pages of the inserted article have the correct section name in the page header, but the fourth does not - it has the section name of the section it replaced. The page after the inserted section now has two page header text frames! So not quite what was expected. See my attached test files of Base Document, Inserted Article ad resulting "Base plus Insert" My initial thoughts are that the use of facing master pages as in my test are not correctly catered for. I think it would be useful to have more information on how the merge documents facility is intended to work. My understanding is based on the information in the Help file, but does not seem to match up. Serif's video tutorial on the Section Manager only appears to deal with splitting a document into sections.
