  1. I think that Affinity Designer needs to be able to create animations of transformation and transition of an interface and more generally the UI/UX prototyping. Thanks. I love this software.
  2. I want to import a picture from photos on ipad into Affinity to experiment with. Apart from getting a blank import screen nothing else happens when I press the import from photos button. I assumed it would sync with my photos app. I am not finding Affinity particularly intuitive. I would like to get started on my own project rather than just play with tutorials. When will A book for iPad be available? I have bought the tome that applies to Mac thinking it might be of some use with ipad. Workflow is signficantly different as not to be useful with ipad, unfortunately. Advice would be appreciated.
  3. I bought and downloaded Affinity Photo through my desktop computer. How can I download a second copy onto my laptop? When I sign in and go to my Microsoft account 'order history', I can see the purchase but there is no way to input my product key to download a second copy. Driving me nuts!
  4. At the risk of sounding like a complete idiot, where are the apps available for Photo and Designer on Windows? I haven't had any luck locating them on the Affinity web site.
  5. Only For Food Lovers is my first iMessage sticker pack. It was made with Affinity Designer and it is now available on the App Store. I'll be launching another sticker pack in the next few days. Only For Food Lovers link: https://itunes.apple.com/app/only-for-food-lovers/id1291727830?mt=8
  6. Using Affinity Photo for the iPad helped me to create this set of over 50 stickers for iMessage! They were created from a high-resolution scan of watercolour splotches. From affinity photo on the iPad I used a variety of techniques to mask out the background and separate the splotches from the paper. I also used it to remove dust from the scan (my scanner is far from perfect). (If masking techniques for removing colour from a textured background is something anyone would be interested in learning, let me know - I’d be happy to put a demo together!) The black ink lines of the charactres were drawn in Procreate 3, and then the file was re-imported so the characters could be grouped and organised, as well as the outerglow tested to give the ‘sticker’ effect. A tiny bit bit of photoshop was used at the end but that was only because I could use it to make an action which would auto export all 50+ stickers - I know the ability to record macros is coming soon to the iPad version of Affinity, and when they do I’ll use that in the future instead! It it was fantastic having the wide colour support as it meant I could really show off the popping reds in my Characters! (I love the one representing Fury, he’s so mad!) Not only was was this a pleasure to do from the iPad, it was my preferred method! Affinity gave me a much better workflow for creating these characters. You can view the set on my website: http://www.jethrowilson.com/illustration/ink.php Or download it from the App Store! https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/inky-stickers/id1187198333
  7. Hi everyone, first time for me to contribute to this wonderful community, i just wanted to share my iOS / OSX app icon set, since the ones i found didn't cover every resolution needed. With this template, you just have to put your icon in every workspace and then export everything, the @*x are already set so you have them all ! you can see the results in the screenshots. Have fun guys ! icon template.afdesign
  8. Hi, not sure if I have just missed this feature, but there should be a preset for android, that gives you all the 5 folder to export to and the correct sizes (x1 MDPI, x1.5 HDPI, x2 XHDPI, x3 XXHDPI and x4 XXXHDPI). Is there also an option for changing the color on export ? this would be handy for when I export icons that is both black and white.
  9. At the moment, I'm engaged end the design UI/UX for mobile applications. I can no longer imagine my work without Affinity, here is my new job at Affinity Designer. I know that over time you will become even stronger and better! Thank you for the incredible product!
  10. Sketch has a feature where you can test-retrieve a feed of data which can see values like text, numbers and images. Then you can connect or similarly name symbol fields to match the feed fields which allows you to them repeat a set of symbols (like a list) based on the values of a feed. I would love a way to takea feed of data and select a number of symbols to connect to the feed.
  11. My experience (in brief) : I bought AD mostly for UI/UX design and some illustration design. Overall my experience is good. Some good things : - I felt it addressed a lot of problems that photoshop and illustrator had when it comes to UI Design. - Exporting Persona is great. - Overall it's good even though i haven't used it extensively. Problem is when i am finished with the design. I am having trouble giving my clients the source file. Only that is keeping me from leaving Adobe completely. Reason : 1. Most don't use Affinity Designer. 2. Png Export is great but clients/developers need source file : Psd, Ai or sketch. 3. PSD export has some issues e.g. exporting of text, gradient are two which i came across for now. So can't give PSD export files. Solution (Feature Requests) : 1. A free affinity designer trial. It can have limited features. But the client and developer can use them to get attributes. So no need for PSD export. I can just tell them to download the trial version. Problem solved to a certain extent. 2. Making PSD export files better. Making the text editable and solving other issues. [Problem with this] This is a tough one. Adobe is not the only competitor. There is also sketch which is getting popular day by day. Then there is XD. So making export perfect for all this is time consuming, inefficient. *3. Integration with web apps like invisionApp, Zeplin, Avacode or Sympli (I think Sympli is working on affinity designer version). This will solve many problems. It will reduce the need to make PSD export perfect. Affinity can then stand as a UI/UX tool on it's own. Similar to Sketch. Sketch doesn't need to export their files to PSD. 4. Plugins. There are different types of plugins some will make the workflow easy and some are important because it allows integration with web apps. (Mentioned in point 3) I would suggest it would be better if they can collaborate with InvisionApp. Reason : -InvisionApp supports both windows and mac users unlike many tools like principle and filnto etc. - A decent prototyping tool. - Inspect feature is similar to Zeplin, Avacode or Sympli. Reducing the need to give PSD source files to client. - Motion (still in progress) : Competitor to Principle/Flinto. I have read in many posts that these features are being highly sought after and lack of it is sadly becoming a problem in replacing Adobe / Sketch with Affinity Designer for UI/UX designers.
  12. It would be nice to have an application on your smartphone to see how your artboards look like in action. Exspecially for me as a developer is that quite important. I've already seen this feature on "Sketch" and it would be really helpful to have the same opportunity. Thank you
  13. I have submitted my app and it says that it is available on the appstore. The dashboard says that my binary is compatile with my Kindle Fire (2015) KFFOWI When I go to the store I cannot find the listing. I have gotten a message that says "Amazon Content Policy Not Compliant" but there is no description about what is not compliant, and as far as I can tell it is compliant. The app is the Big Finish app and works similar to the Audible app. Our clients purchase audio books from Bigfinish.com and use the app to download the content to their device for listening. I have used the contact us button twice but have only gotten a canned response. Can anybody help explain what is going on?
  14. Hey guys! I am very new to graphic design so you'll have to excuse my lack of knowledge. I recently purchased Affinity Photo and Affinity Designer for my Mac. I am trying to find the best solution to being able to draw basic sketches and diagrams. I don't need to be able to draw anything with great detail or very artistic. I have an iPad 4th generation (so not a Pro) and I am wondering if there is an app I get use to be able to draw on my iPad to interact with Affinity Photo or Designer. Another option I have been exploring is buying a Wacom. What advice can you give me as to whether I would be better off using my iPad with a specific stylus or purchasing a Wacom. What are my options? Thank you!
  15. Hi everyone, i've created a mockup for iMessage Apps UI. The assets contains the icon app table, the compact UI mode, another compact + callout bubble ui and the Expanded UI mode. All it's created by vectors, hope will be useful. http://itemplates.altervista.org/iMessage%20App.afassets ;)
  16. I don't know for how long, but AppShopper notified me today that it dropped from €20 down to €0.99. If you don't have access to Illustrator, then this is probably your best bet for image tracing vectors until Affinity has the feature natively. Just thought I'd let anyone interested know. https://itunes.apple.com/app/id704139979
  17. Available on the App Store https://itunes.apple.com/th/app/pastel-keyboard-themes-extension/id938571723?mt=8
  18. It's great that you now have a tutorial app on Apple TV, covering both Designer and Photo. Is there any chance you'll be porting the app to Mac OS or iOS? That would better fit the workflow in my home office, as I the TV in the house is elsewhere.
  19. Hello, I am a recent "convert" to the Affinity line of apps. I'm loving the potential to get out of the grips of the "giant" in the industry and be able to once more afford to be a designer. The software so far is outstanding and I'm sure it will only get better from here. That being said, it's increasingly becoming a mobile world, and now with iPad Pro available, will we be seeing mobile versions of Photo and Designer anytime soon? I believe that would be an amazing game-changer, especially in light of the fact that the Photoshop "versions" of apps available for iPad are mediocre at best, and useless for real work. Keeping my fingers crossed that this wish will come true very soon! -Glo MacDonald
  20. Hi Affinity, how can I gift your App to an Apple ID. Cannot find the menu item in Apples App Store in the drop down menu in the right square of the price tag. Regards D.
  21. I am working on the iphone app for an event. Users will be able to interact through it, find out new people and also easily navigate the places related to the event.
  22. Icon App Linguagem do Coração Affinity Designer.
  23. This was a fun little job for Link2Golf, a golf app that offers an "easy as 1-2-3" solution for getting people on the green faster. The app allows multiple people in different locations to communicate together to reserve a course with minimal effort. The illustration is intended for web use and print advertising. The client is also an Affinity Designer user so the file hand off was in native AFD format. ;) All in Draw persona.
  24. Hello! I am a mobile game artist and designer. I have always been using Illustrator, but have recently discovered Affinity and I am completely blown away by its capabilities and speed! I have the 10 day trial, but after everything I have seen and done with the program, I will be making the full purchase upgrade right after I am done posting this example. Here is just an peek of a couple ideas I have been playing around with, which eventually will be a fully usable and customizable GUI Asset Sheet for people to use in their own games and apps. This program is amazing, and I cant wait to dive a lot further into it! :) Thanks for your time.
  25. I have been using the Beta Affinity Designer and before downloading the paid for version of Affinity Designer I tried to delete the Beta AD App icon but it wouldn't delete. I then downloaded the paid for version of AD and now have two AD App icons. Any ideas of how to delete the Beta version AD App?
