  1. Hello, the Apple app store states that the Affinity Designer app is compatible with the Ipad Air 3 however after I purchased the app I received a message stating that it is not, in fact, compatible with this model and I need to seek a refund for my app purchase. I'm confused because I see people in this forum who have the Ipad Air 3 and are using the Designer app so am I receiving this incompatibility message in error or has the app recently modified to exclude the Air 3?
  2. I am a registered user of Affinity Photo and Designer. I now have a second personal computer, a laptop, and I would like to install Photo on it, as a Windows App rather than execution of the usual .exe downloaded file. That's important to me because my laptop has a very small SSD where the OS is, but will install Apps on a much larger DATA HD. (On my desktop Windows doesn't see Photo or Designer as Windows Apps, but rather as installed programs. I'd like to change that situation too, but that's a later topic.) So.... Should I pay for the Windows App, then request a refund? Or is ther
  3. Updating via Mac App store the Affinity Photo app is failing (freezing circle icon) tried many times, restarted, waited hours and days. No luck. What to do?
  4. Hello, guys! Just a quick post to share with you a template for designing iOS App icons. Icons come in different sizes and done with the last angle for corners set by Apple. The icons are symbols so you can see changes quickle on all of them. Hope this be useful! Best regards! Template - iOS Icons - Share.afdesign
  5. I would love it if you would create a Video Editing Software like premier (but better obviously) As a college student I have two choices pay the expensive price of £16 a month for Adobe's okay software or get it offline illegally and unsafe. I have already Purchased Affinity Photo, am about to Purchase Affinity Designer but would absolutely love it if there was a affinity video editor for my media. I know this might not be your kinda thing but it would be so great and I know so many people would rather use this than adobe. You're ahead of them, keep it up.
  6. Hello Affinity, a small barrier exists between "industry standard software" and others. It's how and what you are able to present to clients in an efficient way. I'd like to suggest that Affinity acquire or build this type of app to help designers of all levels to present projects quickly and efficiently the way Live Surface can. https://www.livesurface.com/index.php
  7. Hey everyone, so I found those templates to export iOS icons and another document for Android apps. Since, we are developing an app in Flutter, this document is perfect fit. So I created a template doing both at the same time. Enjoy it. Follow instructions in the document and please write a comment for any bug / suggestion. App Icon Exporter - v1.afdesign
  8. Hi everyone, I made an icon template for Android apps. Hope you'll like it! android icon template.afdesign
  9. Is there an option to try Affinity iPad apps before purchase? I don't see a trial option. Thanks.
  10. Hi! I have installed/saved several macros and luts on my affinity app on my iPad. Are there anyway I could transfer the program to another iPad. my only option seem to be to download the affinity photo app blank and then manually import al of the above again into the new app on the new iPad. This is extremely boring...:-) The backup from iCloud only installed the “empty” app again. any solutions or is it just keep on doing it manually....?
  11. Hello Fellow Designers, I would like to share my latest work with you. Last week I created an iOS 13 app with Affinity Designer and Apple's latest user interface framework, SwiftUI. The application itself is a part of my new SwiftUI Course as the first project which students will build from scratch. I found both Affinity Designer and Photo very helpful in the creative process and I decided to continue work with them in the future. If you do not mind, I attach some snapshots of the SwiftUI app. What do you think about it? Any suggestions or tips? I would appreciate it so much.
  12. I need clarification on how Affinity Photo saves images. My normal workflow is to import RAW images directly into the Photos App on OS for organization. From there I would like to edit images within Affinity. I understand there are 2 ways to accomplish this and there lies the confusion. I select edit in Photos App then select ‘edit in Affinity’ dialogue. The image is opened in Affinity after instructions that says close image when done and select save changes in Photos App. The edited image now replaces the original in Photos App. Is the image saved in the Photos Library? If I
  13. I'm having an issue with metadata being retained from an original background image layer in Affinity documents. New jpgs do not update to the current date. 1. Export an image from Apple Photos app and open it in Affinity Photo, thus creating a new Affinity ".afphoto" document with multiple layers. 2. Export a jpg from Affinity document to my desktop. 3. Import new jpg to Apple Photos app. New image returns to original creation date in Apple Photos.
  14. Dear Affinity-Team! I'm very impressed by the iPad version of your apps. Sadly I do "only" own a Microsoft Surface (Tablet). You can run Affinity Photo and Designer on it but sometimes it is a big pain in the ass to be not able to take full advantage of the power your programs offer. Especially without a cover and a mouse only equipped with the Surface Pen, it is difficult to get buttons right. For that reason, it would be just awesome to have a surface version with all those fantastic features and as intuitive as the iPad version. I hope to hear positive news soon. All the b
  15. Ok I think I have casually requested this but haven't actually added it to the forum. Im looking into a graphics tablet, however I started to look at tablet with a screen, then it sprung to mind that an iPad is way cheeper with (probably) and much better screen and way a better os. Now I don't know if this is possible but could an iPad be used with the addition of an app? (bolt on sale for you chaps here) Live screen action would be fantastic or sketches be send to Affinity designer on completion?
  16. Hey everyone! Sometimes, the connection to .afdesign files in Files.app is lost. This happens without moving any files. When this problem occurs, saving from within the file will not overwrite the file in Files.app (it seems to do nothing at all) and when saving from outside the file, there will be a duplicate with the " 1" prefix. When trying to access the file in Files.app, it says the file cannot be found. In order to make it work again, "On My iPad" has to be disabled and enabled again to be able to access the file. I'm unsure whether or not you can solve this or if this is an iO
  17. Hello everyone, I bought Affinity Photo on my Macbook Pro a few months ago, but I was wondering if there is a way to use the app on my iPad Pro without paying twice for it? Thanks so much!
  18. EDIT: Hooray. This App has finally been published. Scroll down to get a link to the Microsoft Store listing. I've started working on a new Windows App and have been having trouble getting the icon right. It will be a simple - and totally free - conversion App - kilos to pounds, metres to inches, etc. The general criteria I've given myself for the icon are: * must represent or give the idea of "conversion" or "change"; * broad strokes only - minimal detail, so it scales down well; * single colour only; * must fit nicely in a square with hardly any surrounding space; * shou
  19. I’m using a combination of AD and Keynote to design and prototype an iOS mobile app. For those that have successfully used AD for this purpose, what size device screen do you use for your art boards? Should I stick with one size of a small screen (phone), and one of a large screen (tablet)? Should I also include both portrait and landscape orientations? Or am I making this more complicated than it should be? Thanks!
  20. UI Design - Affinity Designer  Link to the portfolio below in the signature =)
  21. I have the surface 3, but the Microsoft store won't allow me to download the affinity designer app, should I download the desktop version? On a similar note, I signed up for the free trial and tried downloading it but it is stuck in a loop. Once it downloads, it requests to be "Open" or "save". Open does nothing while save brings up the same prompts for another copy.
  22. I think that Affinity Designer needs to be able to create animations of transformation and transition of an interface and more generally the UI/UX prototyping. Thanks. I love this software.
  23. I purchased Affinity Photo through the Microsoft App store, and although it has installed ok, I get an error when I launch the app. My suspicion, from the error, is that the executable file path is too long, but I can't find a way around it.
