Selection smoothing is way too strong always. how i can do very tiny smoothered border? i imagfined using these values using refine selection: Border width 0%,Smooth 0px,Feature 0px,Ramp 100%. but is not close at all. a nd tested other values as well no luck either. this prevew looks i think most close what i mean. and without antials shape is perfect but of course without smooth border but when i get smooth border is smotoh in way too large area is my problem. want somehing what is one pixel or such in thickness. there is example image made with gimp looks perfectly what i mean. is painful use multiple programs and now somehow gimp is unstable. and this selction is made its lasso tool. like how selection works otherways but smooth area is too BIG.

Hi, I don't know if this is a bug but Affinity Photo 1.9.1 is doing something I don't expect. When I create a Vector object and set the Blend Antialias to Off, it removes the antialiases. If I export that to PNG, the export does not contain antialiases. However, if I Rasterize the vector, I get antialiases even though they are not displayed. To work around it, I have been exporting vectors as PNG and bringing them back in. But this is a pain in the butt. Is it possible for Rasterize to obey the Antialias setting? Or is there something that I'm missing? Thanks. James PS: This might be the same in Affinity Designer as well but I haven't checked.

Hi, I'm having a bit of a strange issue and I'm wondering if anyone could shed some light on this. I'm an indie game developer, I've been using illustrator previously but switched over to the Affinity Suite (Affinity Designer for this asset). My general workflow is Create art in affinity designer (2x the resolution I need for the screen space) > Import to Spine > half the size of images > Export for unity. Now this could be an issue any where down the line and I'm going to explore all options but I thought I'd start with Affinity where the art is created. I'm having some issues with this Trampoline I've create where the edges look 'bad' and it seems to be an aliasing issue as far as I can tell. The issue I'm referring to is the jaggy edges on the black outline. The scene on the right has some post processing running on it with some screen space anti-aliasing. The resolution of the asset in Unity is roughly 260 x 92 and the resolution of the game is 1920x1080. These are my export settings in Affinity : Document setup settings : This is the sprite sheet that Spine is exporting as a packed image (2048x128). These are my export settings from Spine to create the above packed image: If anyone could shed any light or suggest some options I could look at in Affinity Designer when I come to export that'd be super useful! I've tried to include as much detail as possible but let me know if I can share anything else! Thanks, Matt

When I create a clipped object, I can see very thin border around the clipping curve. This seems to be same as known "antialias gap" problem.

I know seeing antialias gap between attached objects on editing screen is normal. But at least I would like you to improve gap problem on export with raster format such as PNG/JPG. (Without aligning to pixel grid, aligning to pixel grid won't work for tile pattern design/symbol sometimes) Adobe IIlustrator has no gap on both editing screen and exported raster file. What kind of magic they have?

There seems to be little or no antialiasing on the multitude of lines to the right of this scarf making the staircasing effect extremely obvious when used at desktop and mobile resolutions for a game. (Picture 1) If I export as PDF, SVG or EPS vector only file and have something else render it like Edge or Photoshop, the antialiasing is much better (Picture 2) It's the same on-screen and also when exported via via bilinear or lanczos to PNG. Performance is set to bilinear and high quality. I'm using an outline FX, but it's the same when off. The difference is night and day, with the first one not being useable at all. Is there a way to increase the level of anti-aliasing? UPDATE 1 : The line is a brush, if I remove the brush and make it just a line, it ant aliases much better. Maybe this is a brush rendering issue with antialiasing?

Hello. I’m struggling with transforming selected areas of designs in Affinity Photo. When changing the size of a selected object, even a little bit, the edges of the selected object become considerably blurred with an “anti alias” look to them. Same thing occurs when rotating a selected object to a new angle, even without changing its size. This ruins the original integrity of the selected object, changing crisp-looking edges to blurred. Trying to fix the blurring by hand afterwords is a huge interruption to workflow. In Snapping Manager, I already have “Force pixel alignment” checked and “Move by whole pixels” unchecked. This seems to prevent the blurring problem when simply moving a selected object. But otherwise transforming selected objects still creates the blur. Hopefully there’s a setting I’m just not aware of to prevent this from happening. Could someone please let me know?

The Marquee and Lasso tools have a checkbox for Antialias, but I don't see that option for the Magic Wand. Is it hidden somewhere else or is there a global preference I need to change?
