  1. Would be nice if you could add an option to move a object according to the rotation on the Transform panel. e.g. If the object is rotated 45 degree, typing a value in X/Y moves the object according to that angle.
  2. Hello People!!, I´m just starting in Affinity Designer. I hope you can help me. Is there a tool to calculate the bisector of an angle in a triangle? Thanks!!
  3. can i create exactly the isometric angel like sktech up. how knows the right angles. thank you for answering sorry my english is not the best
  4. Is there a way to use certain angle to snap on rotate other than every 15 degrees? only three axis can be used on Grid and Snapping Axis setting so this can't be used.
  5. I'd like to suggest you to create a simple method to connect the C point perpendicular to the AB segment. If you need some inspiration Coreldraw has a pretty decent way to do that - direct and intuitive. BTW, measuring tools would be great too.
  6. Is it possible to move a object toward rotated angle with Transform panel? (Without reverting back rotation once)
  7. Hello affinity designer team. I would like to propose some additional type of tools to include in your roadmap priorities. These are the basic precision tools, like what you see in CAD software environments like fusion 360. I cannot emphasize enough the gravity and necessity that this would make affinity designer take a bigger leap towards gaining more users. One of the tools I am referring to are the arc tangent tool similar to fusion 360 (and other cad softwares), typing or input functionality for Line/edge length and angle, and lastly making the rotation angle information visible. There are a lot of things that a vector software can take advantage of some techniques and features that cad softwares use. Not necessarily to dive in all the cad tools, instead just the basic/simple features that we think are very beneficial for vector art. There are situations where an artist needs to have more control on the curves/lines angle Ex: Flourish or ornament designs. Currently, I believe the only angles and curves that an artist can make in affinity designer are just through eye estimation and grid snapping which In my opinion is also great when doing organic stuffs. When you want to apply some simple form of precision and control on creating shapes and curves, that would probably need some form of tools that gives you proper control while at the same time promotes consistency and uniformity. This would also definitely make the workflow much faster and creates an environment for artists to experiment and create innovations with the help of these tools and also with the existing feautres it already has. I hope affinity designer would soon add some kind of features. Thanks. https://autodesk.i.lithium.com/t5/image/serverpage/image-id/192801iEF9AA96E1495B49E/image-size/original?v=mpbl-1&px=-1
  8. Hi guys, Is there a possibility to change the angle of a gradient stroke? Can the gradient fill tool be also used for strokes somehow? Cheers, Chris
  9. I have an urgent need to create a ring, where along the ring there are 'tick marks' like degrees on a compass, however, due to the nature of the project, I need to be very specific about where these 'ticks' lie around the circle, such that some need to be at a decimal precision of about 8 places. As far as I can tell, Designer only supports rotation precision to 1 decimal place. Is there an option or away to increase this to at the very least 4?
  10. I'm making a clock face. I set the guides to the dead centre, and I draw a 'tick' mark centrally using the guides. It's placed evenly over the vertical guide at 12 o'clock or 0/360 degrees around the clock face, then set the rotation anchor to the dead centre of the page using the guides. I duplicate that layer, and translate it using keyboard entry to exactly 5 or 10 degrees (depending on the tick mark I need). I press CMD+J to duplicate layer and transformation and populate the outside of the clock face. NOTICE: The rotation text field only allows single decimal places; this is functionally unusable, because in many cases we need multiple decimal place precision, and in fact if you manually rotate a layer you see displayed 2 decimal places, yet you can't manually set that in the text field. At least 4 is required, preferably 8 decimal places. Continuing with the bug description: I do the same for the 5 degree marks until the clock face is populated with marks at 5 degree and 10 degree points all around. To verify the correctness of these 'tick marks' I draw a long (extending past outer edge of clock face) 2 pixel wide line from the centre and rotate it so an random 'degree' that is a multiple of 5. e.g. 135. Then I see how it lays along the computed 'tick' marks. BUG: NOTICE that the tick mark at 135 isn't placed correctly, in fact none are except 0 degrees, 90, 180 and 270. All others are off by small amounts from those cardinal points up to the greatest amount of imperfection at the points directly between the cardinal points. If you MANUALLY drag the pink line you'll see that you still can't set it perfectly (due to poor 2 decimal place precision) but the black 135 tick mark is somewhere between 134 and 135, This level of precision isn't enough for my work. Suggestion: Please fix immediately the rounding / precision bug when doing rotations, and increase the decimal place precision on dragging AND by text entry to at least 4 decimal places, but preferably up to 8 decimal places. Current implementation is too inaccurate to use. Designer_Errors in rotating paths (lack of precision).afdesign
  11. Hi, I would like to align (snap) to objects that have different angles. Basically I have a geometric figure (a triangle) and I would like to add a rectangle to its border, but I'm not able to match the angles. Any idea ? Thank you for your help
  12. Hello, Is there a possible way on the future release, there will be a Snapping option in the Corner tool maybe with +Ctrl or +Shift button, so the node will be meet up in the center of the corner (Pic.1) instead of just dragging it way around freely (Pic.2). So whatever the mesh looks like, with the snapping option, the corner tool will make a nice precise circle on the edge of the mesh.
  13. Hello everyone, I'm new to Affinity Designer and I hope someone can solve my problem: I have to keep a Corporate Design which says that rectangles must have an angle of 15° on two sites (shown in annex). How can I adjust the angle on forms with the knot tool? As far as I tried it I can only adjust the corners freely, but not with an explicit angle on the selected corner. Thank you for any advice. Greetings LiberalDesigner
  14. Hey, I’m experiencing some problems with angle’s values for circular and ring shapes while I was making a pie chart. When I enter, for exemple, 90° as the end angle, it turn in another angle. See the video attached. It seems like it happens when the shape is a duplicated one. Am I the only one who has this ? 686B0CCD-2B48-4237-86D8-25443954C8D5.MOV
  15. Hi, Is there a way to make bezier handles snap to 45 or 90 degrees? Most apps allow for this by holding down shift, but shift behaved differently in Affinity Designer, snapping to the existing curve. The only workaround i've found so far is to use the pen tool to redraw the bezier curve by clicking and dragging on the same point while holding shift. Is there another way to do this? Thanks.
  16. Is there a way to draw triangles with a precise set of angles in Affinity Designer/Photo for iPad. For example, suppose I want a triangle with a top corner angle of 75°. How would I create that triangle to spec? Sorry if I’m overlooking something simple. Thanks in advance for the advice. I tried to research this basic point. So far I’ve come up with nothing.
  17. Working with the pen tool, I've noticed that there is no way to snap the bezier handles to 45° and 90° angles once the node has been placed. Normally, this would be done by holding down the shift key while moving the bezier handle. In Affinity designer, this locks the handle to the angle it was last placed at. My suggestion would be to keep the current behavior, but add an alternate keyboard shortcut that will lock the bezier handles to 45° and 90° (and possibly other) angles. Could be CMD + DRAG, CMD + SHIFT + DRAG, etc.. Thanks!
  18. Try this: 1. New document. 2. Click once on the Rectangle Tool (or type "M") 3. Click the square to the right of "Fill:" in the upper left corner of the window. 4. Click on the "Gradient" tab. 5. Note there is no field to set the ANGLE. Please add that. Why? Because Illustrator has one and for good reason. Yes, you can set the angle by going outside the Gradient panel, choosing the gradient tool and then manually doing it. But if one is already working inside the Gradient tab (especially for matters of precision), it is only logical that an ANGLE setting should be in there too. Thanks!
  19. Is there a way to set the angle of a pyramid, or any other shape, rather than having to calculate that then enter dimensions?

  21. Hi. I like to have a shortcut available to reset rotation since it happened many times to me , i design mostly with my MacBook pro on the go, (thanks to your software i can even get work done on my girlfriend's base model 12 inch, god bless you guys for that.) and i rotate the screen accidentally , i'd like a fox for that. i know a bit about US so i suggest 3 ways to approach this issue: 1. Tiny Pop Up button on the side of the screen, to appear whenever the the screen is not adjusted. (this doesn't have to be on AP since thats mostly work done on photo but on the other hand, for experience consistency i would suggest that to be tried at least.) 2. pop up button available on touch bar whenever canvas is rotated. 3. keyboard shortcut. Thanks guys
  22. Would love to see some sort of "right angled" snap enabled gradient tool feature (perhaps with a modifier key). When dragging out the gradient tool often I need to drag it 90 degrees perpendicular from an edge to get a nice even gradient that isn't angled. See attached. Second image is the desired behaviour, 90 degrees perpendicular to the centre edge. Illustrator sort of handles this with a dashed line box as you drag the gradient tool but it doesn't snap. A snap would be helpful to ensure it's at 90.
  23. When you're drawing a shape, or already have one, it would be fantastic if there was a way to see the angle between two node points, with respect to either a horizontal or vertical axis. It would be extremely handy to make sure your shape has the same angle of slant as other parts of your design. I'm aware of the slant transform option, but this is something that would be specific to selected nodes. Thanks!
  24. howdy folks, this is a feature which i think would help mirror certain things. so with a text object, you make into a curve. seperating the letters, great. but you can angle the letters, to make them look different or curved. but what would be really cool is if you say have a word like 'HELLO', you need to angle the 'H' 'E' 'L' & 'O'. you dont need to angle the middle L since its in the center. but say you select the H & O, you can angle them, but you can NOT angle them [see 001 picture] on the inside. it just allows on the outside and the boottom/top. i have to do the same for the E and for the second L. to make the word curve to then make this [see 002 picture] so really i have to angle each letter one at a time. when i think it could be done easier it just would be cool if you could:- A - with the entire word to curves, be able to select multiple letters 2 or 3 or 4 etc, to angle from the inside points, rather than always the outside OR B - have a curved text object but allow the curve object to curve in the same way without having to do it letter by letter anyhow. if this does exist already. please do share. but if not, it would be a nice feature. also if this doesnt make sense please do contact me back ;)
