  1. Hi, I'd like to request a feature that would allow me to add nodes directly between existing nodes on a shape, similar to how Illustrator's "Add Anchor Points" tool works. I think this could be even better if you could select which nodes you want to add nodes between, rather than this only working for the entire shape. For example, if I have a circle with 4 nodes, and I select the top and left nodes and use this tool, it would add a single node evenly spaced between the two on the existing path at the top-left of the circle (see screenshot). If I select the entire shape, it would add 4 nodes, one between each connecting pair. Thanks!
  2. This problem also appears in designer too apparently- exact same problem on that persons iPad Air 3. My problem is that the anchor points box is not visible completely. It forces me to resize utilizing the 3 top points in the square. If I want to resize my pic ( ie creating an equal border) I cannot select the Centre of the box cause it’s obscured. It may only be a problem with iPad Air 3- which I have. Real drag as I used this for boarders pre 1.9 thanks
  3. Hello, Is there a way to simply add anchor points between two points on a curve that has already been drawn? Thanks :)
  4. I've searched for other forum posts first but couldn't find anything so I've listed it here. I'd like to be able to split any stroke of any shape into a specified number of anchor points. In addition, some manipulation of this would be useful such as having different gaps between certain anchor points. Thank you!
  5. I finally broke down and updated Affinity Designer to the latest release and what I feared the most happened. The functionality of the node tool has gone out of the window. I can no longer add anchor points along a path with the node tool. As an example, I draw a lot of text and then bring those sketches into Designer. I select a basic shape like a box and work around my sketch adding points and manipulating handles along the way. Now when I choose the simple shape to work with, convert to curves and try to add anchor points with the node tool all I can do is manipulate the path between two existing points. New anchor points cannot be added, period. I am extremely frustrated, is there a way I can go back to the previous iteration of Affinity Designer where the node tool worked well? This is a make or break function for me as a users. That tool worked perfectly in previous versions of the software. Thanks, Dave
  6. This may of been mentioned before and I do apologise if so. This was done in photo but I presume this happens with the others as well, I've chosen the donut Tool shape for which I've opened up to get part of one. The issue is with the size measurement being that it take the full size (left) of the donut instead of part size (right) of diagram attached. I had to rasterise the right image to illustrate the issue I was having Has this been over looked or is it a setting with I have not found yet? Kind Regards
  7. Hello, I have just bought affinity designer but come from a background of using adobe illustrator. I would like to smooth lines on a handrawn (ipad pro apple pencil) imported pdf - using apple draw to create vectors on ipad and transfer files as a pdf in creative cloud to maintain layers whilst awaiting affinity designer for ipad pro - The imported pdf vector drawing has many anchor points as you would expect. In adobe illustrator I could use the smooth tool to quickly remove number of anchor points whilst maintaing a handdrawn quality. 1) is this possible in affinity designer? If so what is the tool called and where could I find it 2) Also I would use the path simplify from drop down menu in adobe illustrator to smooth and reduce anchor points - is there something similar in affinity designer. I am working through the tutorials but these are some of my first issues I have come across. 3) Would also appreciate if there is a list of all the available tools so I don't need to keep asking in the forum Thank you affinity - really enjoying using designer
  8. Would love to have the same functionality of spacebar as in Photoshop/Illustrator where you could hold down space when resizing or using pen tool to move the object/anchor point around! It increases the workflow speed by a lot! :)
  9. I love the program and safely buy the final version The adaptation is being very easy and some questions have already been answered but I have 3 questions regarding the splines I do with the pencil or paintbrush tool: 1) sometimes to make a path too many anchor points appear. Is there any way to regulate plotting fidelity to not have so many anchor points? perhaps in the Mac version can be done? 2) it is probably a stupid question but can not find the way to join two lines made with pen or pencil or brush in one. 3) You can change the gradient angle? I do not find that option in the "Fill" tool Best Regards
  10. Hi there, I just checked out the trial version of Affinity Designer, and so far I'm very impressed by its speed and simplicity. However, I'm wondering if there's any possibility to adjust length of the two anchor point handles simultaneously. In the Affinity tutorial it seems this can be done by pressing Ctrl and move one point. But this doesn't work for me – this only adjusts the length of one point. Is there another option that I need to activate before? Thanks, Nils
  11. Is there any way to turn off the annoying but useful anchor point handles - when I am creating numerous, close anchor points the handles pop up and prevent me from adding new anchor points where I want to add them. I've just been moving on to other areas and returning later to add mor but this is annoying and slowing down design. Is there anyway to turn those anchor point handles off so they do not automatically appear and interfere with adding more anchor points? Thank you for your help. I love Affinity Designer....
  12. Hi, I was wondering if there is a tool in Affinity Designer that would allow me to do what "Add Anchor Points" does in Illustrator (Object > Path > Add Anchor Points). Basically what I'm trying to do is add an anchor point directly between two anchor points on a shape. So, if I create a circle which has 4 anchor points, I'd like to turn it into a circle with 8 anchor points that are evenly spaced. Is there a way to do this? Thanks!
  13. It would be good to have the ability to constrain control points for vector curves to guides / grids / elements. At present you can constrain control points to 45° increments by holding the shift key whilst dragging a control point from an end point. For really accurate work on eg. display type it would be great to be able to snap control points to guidelines/intersections, to be sure of the shape of a curve, in both angle and length. Separate but related question: can you manually set co-ords for control points? Thanks, J
