  1. Hi, a added a group containing fill layer, add noise, and more blur filters and contrast adjustment to create a grainy salt structure. Then I tried to remove darker parts with help of blend range. In blend Mode „pass through“, the expected effect is visible in all other blend modes, blend range show no effect at all. By Design or bug or something else? below: passthrough, result as expected below: bm normal with blend options set, unexpected result below: bm normal, base case
  2. The blend option does not work if there are life filters like lighting and unsharp in the layer.
  3. Hello everybody, I just came across this issue and think this is a bug in Affinity Photo. When a Gaussian-Blur-Filter ist applied underneath (nested) a Fill-Layer a Blend-Range for the Fill Layer doe not work. You can tweak the settings of the Blend Range but no changes are visible. This occurs as soon as the Gaussian Blur ist set to >0. When the Gaussian Blur ist unchecked the Range ist visible and disappeares when checked. Affinity Photo: 1.9.2.1035; Windows 10 (21H1, Build 19043, 1055); Language: German Please excuse me my bad english. Greetings from Waiblingen (Germany) Roland
  4. Version 1.9.1: Adding a live filter deactivates blend ranges. Reproduced on different machines by the following steps: New document, add a picture (Pixellayer) Duplicate it and set the upper blendmode to something noticable (Screen oder Multiply) Add blend range to the upper image to make a difference (pull down darks e.g.) Now add gaussian blur to the upper image. As soon as you choose a value in the filter (so the filter has an impact) the blend ranges of the image are ignored. Deactivating the filter or (in this example gaussian blur) yetting the filter impact value to zero brings back the blend ranges.
  5. I got this setting shouldn't "Layer blend ranges" work here? currently it does not blend the layers ... file attached. greets s layer_blend.afphoto
  6. I was following a tutorial on YouTube on the Affinity Revolution channel which was to create realistic lipstick on a model using Affinity Photo. The process involved the following: Create a fill layer Set colour of layer to that of the lipstick colour you require Set layer blend mode to Multiply Hold down Alt and click on Mask icon to create mask Select brush and choose white paint Paint in the shape of the lips which will appear in the colour you chose earlier At this point, the lips are coloured, but have a very sharp edge to them, so we add a Gaussian blur as a child of the mask to blur the edges of the lipstick. This gives it a more natural/believable look. The next step is to use blend ranges to adjust the appearance of the lipstick, so it doesn't look like clown makeup! In the video they go in to blend ranges and drag the highlights marker on the right-hand panel towards the bottom. You set it based on the desired change to the appearance. However, when I do it, it has no affect. After experimenting, I realised that the Gaussian blur was disabling any effect that the blend ranges had. If I set the blend ranges first and can see the desired change, and then add the Gaussian blur, as soon as I set it to anything other than the starting value of 0px, the blend range changes are effectively disabled/ignored. The same can be witnessed if you set it all up and then disable/enable the Gaussian blur. You will see the blend range settings being applied and then removed. I am using version 1.8.5.703. Is this a bug, or am I doing something wrong? Thanks.
  7. I’m following along with the tutorial about the Displace filter and I’m not getting the functionality that it shows in the video. https://affinity.serif.com/en-us/tutorials/photo/desktop/video/309468388 When I get to 1:45 the blend option does nothing. I’ve re-created the example exactly to no success. Any suggestions? I'm on a Mac BTW Displace_Issue.mp4
