  1. Hello, due to health issues I haven't been able to participate in the forum for a while. I wish everyone a very happy and above all healthy new year. My problem: Ever since installing v.2.03 of AffDes, upon File>New the default colour palette does not come up. Instead I get a colour palette that I made a long time ago, namely "Autumn". This is the first palette in the list. Even after deleting this palette and choosing the default "colours" palette > File New> it still reverts back to the first palette in the list, whatever that particular palette may be. I've tried deleting several palettes,"set as default for...", checked preference settings etc., but it does no good. I suspect something went awry with the automatic transition from v1 to v2, so I tried finding the palette propcol file. Unfortunately couldn't find it. Help will be very much appreciated. Thank you ! PS: I've had to change the forum settings and don't seem to be able to get the preferred contents back. So please send me a PM, which I will check for regularly.
  2. AP on Mac OS Mojave This something I first reported years back in the very, very early days with first release of AP. Nothing has changed since then so I am tempted to believe that I may be failing to understand something rather than there being a fault in the app. I find having to keep switching greyscale and colour swatches rather tedious. So I created a swatch of my own that contains both greyscale and colour in a single swatch palette. It is set as an application palette. I saved this and on startup can select it in the palette drop down just above the swatches. So far so good. However the swatches menu has an option "Save as default", followed by the colour modes for which you would like it to be default. I set my new palette to be default but AP ignores this and always defaults to the grey scale palette. Now maybe I am misunderstanding but, to my simple mind, a default palette is the one that loads on startup. However I cannot get any palette, including the AP native palettes to load as default in any colour mode. I have tried every combination I can think of but AP resolutely insists on always starting up with the greyscale swatches. I cannot believe, after such a long time, that this can be broken. If that were the case then plenty more users than I would surely have reported it right from the early days just as I did, so I have to presume that somewhere I am missing something - I am often rather good at that.🤔 So what am I missing to get this feature working or am I misinterpreting entirely the meaning of "default".
  3. I have a personal palette that combines the standard greys and colours into a single palette called David Mac. This I have exported and saved as DavidMac.afpalette When AP opens it opens always to the Grey palette. If I then select my own DavidMac palette from the palette dropdown list it displays just as it should. If I then set this as the RGBA/8 Application Default palette in the Swatches menu I receive a message ‘Default Palette Saved’. However if I close Affinity and re-open it defaults once again to Grey. Creating a new RGBA/8 document doesn’t then switch to the DavidMac palette I have saved as the RGBA/8 default - I have to select it again from the dropdown. Now to my naive mind a default RGBA/8 Application Palette is the one that opens automatically by default for any RGBA/8 image, be it an existing image or a new blank image, but this isn’t happening. BTW, although I am posting here because the problem exists in the latest 118 beta release, this is not new to just the beta - it has always behaved thus from the very first AP. So am I missing something obvious here (which I often do) or is this a very longstanding bug?
