While designing a flyer, I was having difficulty in setting a bulleted list to "no indents". So I decided to try it in Publisher. When I go to File>Edit in Publisher, I get the following error message (see attached). Both personas are version 1.10.5.1342

Hi! and Bye! Tote Bag design The tote bag shape itself was produced using Affinity Publisher, using the Rectangle Tool and the Segment Tool. The symbols are from a font made using FontCreator. I am copying text from a word processor into a Publisher document. I want to apply my main paragraph style to this text, which includes optical alignment. Problem: Sometimes the text I am copying includes local formatting, e.g., italicized text. Applying my style and clearing character formatting will unitalicize the italics. Apply Style and Preserve Character Formatting will keep the italics, but then it will not apply optical alignment. Is there a way to do this, short of manually reapplying italics? -
I cannot save my files or continue my projects which was built in Affinity Designer. It keeps crashing every time I try save. It's hard to figure out where to go from here. I have a 2012 iMac and the latest security update (Catalina 10.15.7) is playing havoc with Publisher. It is slow, freezes with and without showing a freeze in "Force quit". Changing tools sometimes temporarily restores working status. Place, and drag and drop into the document sometimes freeze. Sometimes saving cause a slowdown or freeze . . . any thoughts? -
Below you will see a TOC formatting in one of my (many) books. In order to get the page numbers right-aligned, I need a TAB in front of them. However, when the TOC is generated or updated, it messes it up because the manually added TAB is being removed in the process. Is there any way to avoid/prevent this? (NB: the vertical line is accomplished via an indented "decoration") And: there is a "bug" in Publisher as I cannot select ONLY the TOC contents and do a search&replace on it. Publisher searches the entire document, although only the TOC is selected. That brings us to another missing feature.... search&replace in only the selected text. Or have I just missed it somewhere? Hello I am writing documents with text and graphics. My graphics are linked in ressource and are floating with text reference. All is running well until the text is at the end of the page. I am trying to explain what's going wrong. When I import the picture as you can see here my picture is outside the bounds (of course option isn't checked !). But when I activate the option here the result I get. As you can see I do not want the picture here Is there anything I am doing wrong ? Regards -
Here are a few examples of book covers I created in Affinity Designer (and used in books created in Publisher). They were all for educational purposes in the advanced composites industry, mainly the aviation and space departments. I also DTP-ed the books in Publisher that contain between 100 and 300 pages, in which hundreds of 2D and 3D drawings, schematics, tables, graphs and formulas, that were made from scratch, were placed. A few examples of the tech art created for these books can be seen in my portfolio blog: https://communicats.blogspot.com/2022/04/book-cover-pages-flyers-and-educational.html Designer and Publisher (apart from the 3D programs I used) are a perfect combination even when the Betas are not recommended for commercial use 😁. The books are all proprietary material. One thing that was something of an issue though, the pdf's generated were really large... Hi, I trust your help to solve my problem with APub: I give a short example, I want to extract a simple summary from titles and subtitles; if I use Heading 1 and Heading 2 paragraph styles for titles and subtitles, everything goes smoothly; but if I create a new style, I format it as it should and, I use it for a Title or for a Subtitle, when I'm going to extract the Summary, those formatted with Headings 1 and 2 are always fine while, for those formatted with the New Style there is only the text without the tabulator and without the page number. I've been around a lot but, I can't understand where the mistake is; I also tried to create a new style based on Heading 1 and also on 2 but always negative. A thousand thanks...

Hello, as the title says, Publisher 1.10.4 will crash every time I try to open my file. Using Mojave as OS. I tried all possible solutions found in the forum and nothing works: copied the file, moved to another folder, updated Publisher to 10.5, uninstall, reinstall to 10.4, reset PRAM, open the file with Affinity Photo and nothing. I sent a copy to a friend and her Windows version showed an error saying the file has characteristics from an older version of Publisher that can't be read so I'm staying with the 10.4 version for now. Attached the corrupted file and a copy of the error report, plus the installed fonts I'm using, mentioning preflight warns for missing the fine variable no matter how many times I reinstall the font family. Hello all! The company I work for uses Microsoft Publisher (barf) and when you’re ready to print or save to PDF with the software, you’re able to customize your print. A good example—and what I’m trying to do with Affinity Publisher—is print a single (or double) sided business card, multiple times on an 8.5” x 11” sheet of paper with the cards placed on the paper so they will run through our business card cutter properly. I need to have 10 business cards per sheet with 2 columns and 5 rows. I need to be able to set the space on the top, left, bottom and right as well as between the two columns. It would be incredibly handy to create preset of this for printing, or save as PDF. Thanks in advance, Lawrence -
When I receive Publisher files from a colleague, prepared on his Windows system, they always present very differently on my iMac (running OS Mojave) - and vice versa. Font sizes, line spacing etc etc. Embedded pictures seem to stay in same positions, rest has a mind of its own. As we are trying to jointly compile a document, this is a real problem. We are both novice users. I understand the files should be interchangeable so what are we doing wrong? -
Hi, I am in big big trouble right now. I have been working on our latest magazine all day everyday for three weeks. This morning I opened my publisher file to be greeted with a warning: After allowing publisher to close the document, reopening it tells me that the document is corrupted. I am working on macOS Monterey with the latest version of Publisher purchased via the AppStore on an M1 Pro. Stupidly I only have a backup from the 17th of March in Time Machine. I am working on files purely local, there is no cloud or network drive access involved. My deadline is Sunday...what can I do? I migrated the project over to my Windows desktop and managed to open the file there. However after making a small change, then saving it, re-opening it produced the same error. I really need some urgent help with this. I've been using Publisher for a year now and have never come across anything like this. -
title says everything As I cannot save the document, I can't provide the .afpub file, although I can provide a pdf export of it! This document is heavy in text zones, images, groups of layers and shapes, to the point where trying to change a text zone alignment or content freezes publisher for a few seconds. (i7-6700k, 16GB RAM limit, 3.5 GB currently used by publisher, 970GTX for rendering, publisher and file are on my SSD) presentation_de_stage.pdf

Perhaps it is just me? 1. Type beach into the search box of the Stock panel for Pixabay 2. Drag the scroll bar 8 times completely down to the bottom Result: The panel shows Connection failed and all images shown before vanish.

In Affinity Publisher 1.10.5 on Mac I'm trying to wrap text around picture frame that has rounded corners. I'm having trouble getting the text to conform to the rounded corners. In Text wrap > show text wrap settings... > I have tried both Wrap style of Tight and Edge but still get what I have illustrated in my image. Is there a way to get the text to come in tighter to the dark red lines I have added for reference?

Hello, When I'm creating my document size, margin and bleed all of my sizes are in increments of 5 inches but my final exported PDF comes out to be a size that seemingly is rounding up. For example, I'm creating an 8.5x11 doc with these parameters: Bleed (top, bottom, and outside edges) 0.125 Inside Bleed 0 Inset for Margins / Safe boundary (Top, Bottom, Outside Edge) 0.25 Inset for Margins / Safe boundary (Binding Edge) 0.5 And my exported doc comes out 8.63 in x 11.25 in / 21.91 cm x 28.58 cm instead of 8.625 x 11.25. Any ideas/help here would be appreciated. I can add photos/examples as needed. -
I am looking for some options when exporting to pdf from Affinity Publisher. First there is the layout issue where I have a cover I want to display alone and the following pages to be in doubles. I can do that manually by selecting it in my pdf viewer but there does not seem to be a defaut option to open this way in the export options. Secondly, I would love for my cover to not be listed as page 1 but rather as page A or something similar. My table of content is otherwise referring to the written pages i created but the pdf itself is not showing the same number which is confusing to people reading the book. Lastly, Is there a way to edit the pdf properties beforehand? Namely the name, subject, keywords and description. It seems to only write whichever is the first line of text in the subject section which is odd to me. Thanks for your help!~ -
I would like Affinity to add the option to be able to scale the glyphs into the Justification palette. This option can be pretty useful when someone is using some justified texts, flush on both side, because it will help to get better white spaces between the words in some difficult situation, as an example with narrow colomns of text. I am sharing with you here some specs I was using with success into some publications, see the joined picture where I placed (in blue) within Affinity Publisher's Justification palette the option I would like to be added. You can see a sample too of a document I created with these specs many years ago. In this sample page the width of the column if not too narrow, but more problems may occurs with the white spaces between the words where someone is using narrow columns where the text is justified, this latter is where the option of scaling the glyphs may come really handy.

Hi, I'm facing a problem where when a user opens Publisher, the RAM starts creeping up past 15Gb, then all of a sudden once the file opens, Publisher crashes. They're using version 1.10.4, but we've also tried the latest version 1.10.5 and even rolled back to 1.10.1, but still the same issue. This happens on all files. I've uploaded the dump file if it helps anyone assist with this problem. The files work on other machines using the same version. Help greatly appreciated! 052a261f-e2b3-49bb-b180-5a64aafa1609.dmp -
I imported an CS5 .idml document and *essentially* everything was perfect except there are some light gray boxes that appeared behind the text boxes that I can't seem to find to get rid of. Anyone else experienced this?
