  1. I am new to the forums, but wanted to say a big THANK YOU to Affinity developers. I use to be a Photoshop user, but have now deleted Photoshop from my computer(s) and have decided to go solely with Affinity Photo. I have not been disappointed. I am especially thrilled with the Panorama function of Affinity, so much so that it has replaced Panorama Maker Pro 5.0 for me. It is a cleaner process and actually does a much better job of stitching very detailed images. The attached image was 6 photos, and it stitched this image 99% accurately. I did very little corrections, which is highly unusual for these type of panorama images. And I do a ton of them. So, just wanted to join the forum and share my experiences with Affinity software and the panorama feature. Thanks again. NOTE: This entire image was done using Affinity Photo, including the background and text. Logo's are used in accordance with fair use.
  2. I've got a bunch of files exported from Affinity Publisher that have all come out at the wrong DPI (all exported images are 96 DPI despite the documents being 72 DPI). As I can't seem to find a solution to that, and I've already exported a bunch of assets, I'm attempting to fix these images via a macro and a batch process. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem like that's going to be viable either. The only way I've found to change the document DPI is through the resize document method, but this is unsuitable for use in a macro. When you run the "resize document" as a macro, it attempts to replicate the exact settings of the recording. This means instead of adjusting the DPI, and resizing the document in relation to that DPI change, it sets the DPI and scales the document to match the original documents size was at the time of recording. Is this intended behaviour? Could there be another way of approaching this?
  3. I’m new to Affinity Photo. Thanks for this great software. I watched the tutorials and read the documentation but can’t figure how to do what I want to. I would like to export photos for website in 1x, 2x and 3x resolutions. I’m always editing the photos in the highest resolution (i.e. @3x) so I’m looking at an automated way to export at half resolution for @2x and at 1/3 resolution for @1x the current image. So far I was able to start with a picture at 1x resolution and use the Affinity Photo export persona to export this picture at 1x, 2x and 3x but it looks like upsampling was used to create the 2x and 3x resolutions and therefore is loosing some detail compared to downsampling the 3x picture to 2x and 1x. Is there a way automatically export at half and third resolution for @2x and @1x? I’m looking to export the whole area of the document (the whole photo), not just slice of it. Thank you.
  4. First time incorporating Capture One Pro into my workflow. No more Lightroom, and officially, no more Adobe. Feels great. Have been using AP since pretty much it's debut, and I'm always impressed at just how powerful it is, not to mention the unbeatable price. I now own licenses on both Mac, PC, and iPad for both AP and AD. Keep up the good work boys!

UPDATING TO THIS VERSION (Free for existing customers) For updates from the iPad Store are done automatically (next time you run after it is available in the store). You need to be logged in as the same user who bought the application. Open iPad store, go to Updates. Once you're there, from the top bar choose Store and on the dropdown click Refresh. It worked for me - both updates appeared instantly. If they dont' theres no point asking us we cannot make it appear quicker. Apple sometimes phase roll outs around the world sometimes taking up to 24 hours.
  6. good day everyone! hoping to get some insight on a weird behavior i can't seem to figure out. i've tried affinity software off and on for a couple years now and have always seemed to have problems. i decided to bite the bullet and buy the latest release instead of trying the trial once a year to see if the issues subsided. they are still present (very slow, processes remain in memory after program closure, no pressure sensitivity, etc), but i'll deal with those once i get this behavior sorted. i am using a dual monitor set up. affinity photo remains in one window (my primary) and i have no need to break it apart into separate windows. i use an intuos pro tablet instead of a mouse. i use a button on my pen to switch be tween monitors. the problem is this: when i switch to another monitor, or essentially move away from the AP window without focusing on another window, the cursor starts wigging out and cannot center properly in the window, nor behaves properly within the AP canvas. here is a video that sort of demonstrates what is happening: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U2Gy0mzxJ-0 once i create a new document, you will see the cursor jump sporadically and flicker at times. this is me navigating to my other monitor and back to this one. i don't know if there's a setting i'm missing, either in wacom or affinity, that is causing this behavior. all drivers are up to date, and this is the only program on my computer that is showing this behavior. any thoughts as to what might be going on?
  7. GEAR: Affinity Photo for iPad 1.6.12.86 on an iPad Pro 9.7” ISSUE: My default RGB Profile is Adobe RGB for working with raw images. When I choose "Export” and then change the ICC Profile to “sRGB” the resulting JPEG remains with the Adobe RGB profile. Is there something simple I’m missing on the iPad version to ensure exported images are given the proper ICC profile? (Note: I'm a long-time user of Affinity products, so asking this question is a bit embarrassing, but I think I’ve been looking at this problem for too long after processing a large batch of images that all ended up with the wrong color profile. )
  8. Thought I might share one of my paintings drawn using Affinity Photo, the red radio is a photo and the rest is drawn to create an image for a possible concept story that I have been working upon. The eyes are drawn using one of the Affinity tutorials. I am very impressed with this software package and the company’s commitment to making the software approachable to all creators. I am self taught and really wish to encourage new talent and provide a perspective from someone who is not a professional designer but wanted to give it a go. I would like Affinity to do a series of spotlight on new amateur talent. I think that it might encourage more budding media artists and kick start new possibilities. Thanks Affinity.
  9. So I’m 16 and I’ve been saving up for a laptop for a very long time and in the meantime I’ve been doing all of my work on affinity photo for iPad and thought I’d share some of my works. Please give honest opinions on them I have no idea whether they are actually good or not, thanks
  10. Affinity photo keep crashing on my iPad whenever I wanted to place an image or import an image. I’m not sure this happen before the update as I just recently bought this, but it keep happening quite frequently now. When you try to import and play around with the mask selection tool the app become a bit dodgy and crashes sometimes. I’m using iPad Pro 2018 12.9 inch
  11. This day lilly didn't want to open up ... still playing with peach color day lillies and difference mode (1st image). Next, I made a copy of the original image, placed on top, and using blend if, came up with the final image.
  12. Will there be support for color fonts in Affinity, especially Affinity Publisher, in the near future? A year ago there were just a few of these fonts but now there are many, and I have a few in my collection. I've played around with these in InDesign and I'm hooked - you can do amazing things with these.
  13. Write a 500 word story. Illustrate using AP. Write another 500 hundred words.

  17. Just getting started with Affinity Photo after years of Photoshop. For starters, decided to try to replicate some of my favorite PS projects - starting with what I call Out-of-Frame. Here are examples from my past work - An Out-of-Frame Portfolio AND - here's my first attempt with AP. Not exactly what I want, but close.
  18. My suggestion for a future release: It would be very handy if you could add a printing area (length and width), so it would be possible to define an exact area the printer is printing on the selected paper size. It's handy when printing on a paper sheet that should have a white border when placing in a mount. I added a screenshot of my other RAW application ON1 Photo RAW 2019 that has this feature. Thanks & keep up the great work. Claudius

  20. For some reason, the preview icon for Affinity Photo is not correct. I move the application to the Mac OS X dock and the image is replaced with a generic finder app icon. I have attached two screen capture images to show what I mean. I even deleted the plist file and also did a fresh re-instrall from the mac app store. I do not know what to do to fix this problem.
  21. Hi guys! New rendering of Viper SRT-10. Everything is made in 3d, except the mountain background. Postproduction done in Photo. Software: 3ds max, Corona, Affinity Photo, Forest Pack, Quixel Megascans Hope you like it!
  22. In game Image Thought I might share something different this week. Have been working on a mod for a well known pc game, I re did the interface and added concept screen art. This image was taken in game, all manipulation done using AP. I am quite pleased with the results, translating photo to tiff and dds files for pc games.

  24. Performed a bit of an orton effect on this image, but instead of applying "multiply" blend mode to gaussian blur layer, used "difference" blend mode. I did apply a bit of HSL to the stamen to bring back a bit of the yellow.
  25. I know well: they're not perfect, but don't have the patience to work for longer!! Some files from analogic film and digital shot mixed together with A.P. I love that software!!
