  1. Hi, I was dealing(playing) with AD and the appearance panel and was wondering whether it is possible to modify the shape of one of multiple strokes without expanding the all object. I could once do this but I don't remember what I've done and of course I've deleted my test file (I might have expended the stroke but I could still see the object with a fill and the stroke). Thanks, P.
  2. I installed Affinity Design yesterday and I got it installed. However, every time I try to open Affinty, the attached error message pops up and tells me that I need to download the version of .NET Framework in order to start the program. I followed the link and downloaded it, and I kept getting the same message. I restarted my computer, 'Installed as an Administrator' and nothing seems to work. I have even un-and re-installed it and there's been no progress. Any ideas would be much appreciated.
  3. Hello, I'm a figure drawing artist and I have been using Adobe Illustrator to draw quick figure sketches for a number of years. Key to this process is the ability to direct the pencil tool to not select each new line I draw, so I can sketch simple lines quickly without the distraction of anchor points. I haven't been able to find the Affinity Designer equivalent that would allow me to draw with the pencil tool without seeing the Nodes. Is there a toggle that allows this? I've attached to this post a short clip illustrating what I'm talking about. On the right, I have an Illustrator window, with its pencil tool set to not select new lines. I can draw with no problems. On the left, Affinity Designer's pencil tool keeps lines selected, with nodes being a visual distraction as well as editing lines when I'm drawing too close to the last line I drew instead of making a new line. I want to be clear, drawing in the Pixel persona is not the solution I'm looking for. I'd like my lines to remain vector and editable after drawing, and to be able to do this from the Designer persona. Is this currently possible?
  4. I type out text using the Artistic Text or Text Frame tools, then double (or triple) click and proceed to highlight the text that I want to make adjustments to. The only problem is, I can't see what I've selected because the text doesn't become highlighted! I could still make edits, but it takes alot more time if I am moving quickly and don't put my cursor where I think it should be. Any help? Affinity Designer 1.6.1, Mac 10.13.3
  5. Hello Serif, OS : Mac Os Siera 10.12.6 I'm experience issue about Export persona in Affinity Designer. When I try to export the output always change like increase by 1 pixel or decrease by 1 pixel. I'm also add screenshot in attachment below. Could you please give a solution about this? Thank You

  7. Hi, Feeling a bit daft and its driving me nuts, When I create a document in design using letters with styles (wood effect, etc) in affinity its sharp, as soon as I import it (pdf) its pixelated when I enlarge it. This only happens when I use styles not when I use curves or flat letters. I've changed rgb settings, document size, everything. What am I doing wrong please. Thanks Just noticed, this happens with any effect on anything (curves, fonts with 3D etc)
  8. In this lesson we set up a document inside of Affinity using guides to create bleeds. Then we go on to create a business card. Check it out and go create. https://youtu.be/tDxQaOVVWrg *Please note that this was created in 2015 using version 1.2, there have been a lot of updates since and the upcoming release of 1.7 will solve my work arounds for this tutorial. 9. Had once again a design task (dynamic distribution of rectangles), which I wanted to solve with " constraints" and was actually surprised that the well-known bug was still not fixed?! Actually it's a great function and a good selling point, but it can also make the work of a designer a lot easier. But only under the condition that this function also works 100% and it definitely doesn't work and this already since the introduction of Affinity Designer. But this was one of the few reasons why I said goodbye to Adobe Illustrator AD1.7.1.404_constraints_bug.afdesign
  10. This is the last drawing I have prepared with a 2.5 hour study. https://youtu.be/wbmRDfpI7k0
  11. If you change the displayed/active artboard of a multi artboard Designer file placed on a master page, this change won't be reflected on regular pages. It always shows the artboard that was first visible upon placing the file. It's possible this also happens with other types of multipage documents (Affinity Photo, PDFs) but I only tested with Designer files. Steps to reproduce: Open Affinity Designer Create a new document with 2 Artboards Draw a purple circle on the first artboard and a blue square in the second, just so they're instantly recognizable Save it somewhere, you can now close Designer, it won't be used anymore Create a new Publisher file, check Default Master so a master page is already applied to any pages added Add a few pages to the document, let's say 6, just so the issue is more evident Double click Master A in the Pages panel so you can add elements to it Place the Designer document you saved on step 4, by default it should show the first artboard, the purple circle Notice the purple circle is correctly displayed on all pages where the Master A is applied Back on the Master A, select the placed file and use the context toolbar to change to the second artboard You should now see the blue square on the master page as expected Notice that the blue square is not being shown on the pages where the master is applied, instead you continue to see the purple circle This is not just a visual bug, if you export a PDF all pages will indeed have the purple circle instead of the blue square Thanks!
  12. Hey! Just wanted to get answer to this simple question, as there is a 20% discount now and I don't wanna miss it. If you buy any Affinity product after the trial, is it linked to you somehow? Maybe through an email or something? Or is it just linked to the PC? I am asking this because I plan on getting a new one soon and I certainly don't wanna buy Affinity license twice. Thanks in advance.

  16. Hey there everyone so I have recently rediscovered my love for vectors and text in my art and was wanting to download some free fonts to try out a few things however I’ve run into a little snag. While free fonts are plentiful I can’t import them into affinity due to either my own incompetence of not knowing how to unzip files on a iPad so I can import the fonts or that I don’t know where to look for files that are not in a zip format as I only have a iPad to work with and have no access to a computer to unzip files there and transfer to my iPad. If anyone has any idea on overcoming this please tell me and also please share any awesome fonts zipped or unzipped for those who pass through. Thank you for your time and have a nice day.
  17. Hello, I am starting to re-learn Designer with the arrival of 1.7, and there are a few things that I didn't undertsand first time, with no improvement on understanding with the new version First one is a biggie: What on earth is OpencolorIO. Mind you, I don't work in animated movies and rarely handle LUTs (although it may happen). I checked the help files (didn't help), checked the OpenIO website (Very obscure language), and also this very forum (with a link in one thread refering to explanatory videos - link is broken on Vimeo) I am generally fairly familiar with colour management, but fail to get the concept of OpencolorIO... It's probably that they don't use the same jargon as I am. Can anyone either point me to simpler language references or maybe attempt at explaining themselves? (you can even use puppet socks if all fails ) Thanks so much in advance!
  18. Leading (in paragraph settings) should default to 120% rather than 103% - like in other design software. Apart from 120% being the standard in other software like Adobe CS. 120% leading is known to be best practice in graphics design in general. It's just a better starting point that does not even have to be changed in most cases. Moreover a leading value of 120% has even been the default in the successors of Affinity products. If you don't want to change the default of 103%, please make the default leading value configurable in the settings dialog!
  19. Guys is 1.7.1 considered a stable release or better to hold off? Can I run it alongside 1.6 or go back to 1.6? I'm using it for production.
  20. I own Affinity Designer and use it to create wedding stationery which I outsource to a local printshop for printing. I always convert the documents to a PDF before emailing to the printshop and have never had any problems before now. This is what is showing up on their end (on my end it is just a nice white border). I have ungrouped every single element in the file and converted them all to curves. I feel like I've tried everything and I'm not sure what to do next to ensure it shows up correctly and can be printed for my customer! * NOTE this is a screenshot that they sent me. I do my work on an iMac and it looks like they use Windows but like I said I've never had any issues in the past with them!*
  21. Hi there, Is there any way to import or copy over a number of pdf profiles I use in PagePlus X9 (.PDF_Profile), into Affinity Publisher without redoing them all? Would be great to import table styles too... I have a ton I really don't want to have to redo! Also, any .ppp import support forthcoming? Many thanks,
  22. Hello guys! Recently I´ve updated my affinity designer version from 1.7.0. to 1.7.1.404 and so far I´m really enjoying it and loving it for it´s slick design and new functions. One function/tool I was really excited to play around with was the multibrush-tool. The thing is I still can´t find this tool although I did check out the various brush presets in designer as well as pixelpersona-mode. Maybe I overlooked something which is crucial in order to get the multibrush option to work? Thanks for any help!

You need to be logged in as the same user who bought the application. Open iPad store, go to Updates. Once you're there, from the top bar choose Store and on the drop-down click Refresh. It worked for me - both updates appeared instantly. If they don't there's no point asking us we cannot make it appear quicker. Apple sometimes phase roll outs around the world sometimes taking up to 24 hours.
