I have build a complex compound with both addition and subtraction. Now I want to convert this to a single curve. Is there a one-click (or similarly easy) way to do this, or do I have to manually rebuild it from the components using destructive boolean operations rather than compound operations?

Maybe is right in my face, but any help will be appreciated it. I've been doing Graphic Design since 1992 and since I let go Adobe software and went full Affinity Suite I'm learning how to do stuff faster than never in my life! For example, when a client wants an EPS or illustrator file for color separation for t-shirt printing I usually select the paths by color convert them in one curve element and when all the colors were separated by layers I exported them individually with press ready settings and their printing marks accordingly. Now with the export persona feature it seems I can do that with one click, and I'm getting the same mistake on every try. I need to have all colors with the same page size so when they are stacked together they will get the final print that they're looking for. Is there a way to have the export files in the same page size? If there isn't, I can do it the old school with no problem. Thanks in advance.

Earlier this year during the second lockdown in Germany, I played with the contour tool and multi-contoured objects to create some images of puzzles with photorealistic effects. This is a two-layered approach in Affinity Designer: First, I created the “image” with the group of pentagons and added multiple contours. This image was exported as a PNG file. Second, I created the frame of the puzzle by merging horizontal and vertical lines into single closed loops. These contours were “extended” and cut into a group of rows and these into groups of individual pieces. Pouring the PNG image as “bitmap filling” for the group-of-groups nicely splits the individual parts on top of the puzzle pieces, i.e., in the final product, each piece can be handled stand-alone. The 3D effect and shadows were added as appropriate. With the “frame” done, any bitmap image can be used as the motive of the puzzle. I am wondering if there is a links panel that shows you a list of all images, as in AI where you can choose one and then relink/replace it? I do a lot of repetitive designs where all I do is swap out the image. When I searched the forums here, the closest thing I found was a request for Publisher beta, to add a links panel. How do you replace images in AD?

I have some designs that I have produced for printing greetings cards. They are 2171 pixels by 1571 pixels at 300 dots per inch and I have both .afdesign files and .jpg files. The size is 7 inches by 5 inches with a 3 millimetre bleed area at edch edge. I would now like to produce images 2100 pixels by 1500 pixels so as to illustrate in a publication the image on the resulting card. For example, by placing the image onto an A5 size page. Is there a way in Affinity Designer to produce such an image by doing something such as adding a rectangle at x=35, y=35 with width and height 2000 and 1500 and then doing something, maybe called a crop or maybe called something else, please? Hey guys, I am a real beginner and thought about buying the Affinity Designer Workbook. My Question is now, are the books even up to date? The Affinity Designer Workbook is from 2016. How much has changed in the program itself and the features... Would you guys recommend me to buy the book or is it not worth it anymore?

Most of this drawing was done with affinity designer. Affinity photo was used for some elements. It was a trial and error process took about a month to complete. A few tweaks have been made.

When exporting a file from Designer it keeps messing up the sizes. Relative the sizes are fine, but the measurements are not the what I set. What I've tried: EPS SVG (with 300 and 72 DPI, with Set ViewBox enabled and disabled). I need the measurements to be correct (I worked in mm, in the document everything is exactly right) because I want to convert it to DXF for CnC. There are a LOT of other similar posts. I've tried a lot of the answers I've seen floating around, nothing works. It always gives me weird results.

Hello everybody! This is the first time I participate in the forum, so forgive me if I make any mistake with the rules, please. I am not english native so my explanation or understanding of technical terms might be short or difficult. Recently I´ve had issues in two situations which involve exporting to PDF using CMYK to send to a printing house. I use Mac Os X Catalina and last version of Designer (1.10.4). Firs case, I tried to export a file that have been created in RGB to PDF and CMYK. The file doesn´t keep the shadows nor the brushes applied as an effect to a vector element. Behind the elements there were blank spaces that appeared in many areas of the canvas. This doesn´t happen when exporting to JPG in CMYK. I don´t know if the problem can happen because the combination of vector and pixels layers in the same file. (Please see file attached: Cover_FueElectrico.pdf). In addition, with a larger file (280 mb), the computer is not able to export a PDF, also in CMYK. The computer doesn´t crash and in the process start to fill up the storage capacity when there was more than 100 gb of free space (the computer advised me to delete files, and the storage descended to 3 gb aproximately). So it was imposible to export the file, and had to copy paste the elements to Adobe Illustrator and export with no problems, only the extra task of redimensionate the elements and some fail conversions with text elements. I wonder if there is a problem with the last update of the program: in May I worked with similar file from which I have reused all the elements to the new I´ve been working during last days. In May I could export under the same conditions with no problems at all. I am not sure if this is the place to comment this. And don´t know if is an issue caused by me because of my work process or some bug with the last program update. I would like to solve these issues as I am really happy using Affinity and want to continue using it. Hope anybody could give me some recomendations to find a solution. Thanks in advance.
