I had just renamed a couple of my afdesign files and then went to save them. I saved the 2nd and then realised the first renamed file was : showing as blank when opened showing 'o items' instead of a file size only giving me the option to rename it or close it - the save options have gone. it's been duplicated so I have 2 of these useless empty files. I don't think they have been 'converted' to actual projects as they have a cross at the top left corner and my other projects don't have that option. - Edit - I've just realised an empty project will display with a cross The file that's gone wrong is called 'Scene bournemouth beach' - images attached Affinity has crashed a few times lately and I do have rather a lot of files sitting on my iPad and maybe that's the cause.. Does anyone know if my file can be retrieved from somewhere?

The plural of "rabbit" is "rabbi", right? Well anyway, here's an illustration I did for my wife (the rabbit fanatic...we have owned as many as 7 at one time!) Done in AD v2.3.1, with a few trips to the Photo Persona and Affinity Photo for some filter effects. I created two Artboards in AD so I could create different versions. Hope you like them. Cheers.

Affinity's light mode UI — in the document setup — has been giving me a headache for months. When you set proportional dimensions, the icon disappears, or becomes so light that you can't see it. And the anchor/rescale active states are reversed. When you chose rescale, the rescale option is greyed out and the anchor option turns white. Which is also wrong. I mentioned this to support months ago, but nothing came of it. Just pointing it out again because it's become highly annoying and time-consuming. The attached screenshot is what it looks like when you set proportional resizing and rescaling. Looking at it, you wouldn't have a clue.

I encountered issue with new feature Cycle Selection Box/Set Selection Box. I am attaching a simple demonstration video. When you rotate the object and cycle selection box to default position and then set it as new default, if you group that object, selection box is ignored. Group selection box will still operate as rotated bounds making groups selection boxes much larger than now individual objects. This completly voids all benefits of resetting the selection box in the first place. If you resize that object, the size of the object will not be the resize value, they will be smaller because the group selection box is the one being resized to desired value. For those who don't know what is the states panel, you could watch the official video instruction by Serif. 1. the states panel in Affinity Photo could record the layer hide/show state of the whole document. It's also unspokenly useful in Affinity Designer. 2. the states panel existing in Affinity Photo can't be used when in Export Persona. If we could switch between various states when exporting, it will save quite a lot of time. e.g., this usage I mentioned in the past 3. adding built-in system variable in export-properties for quick referencing when configuring custom filename.

Problem description I'm using Affinity Designer 2 Export Persona feature. I want to crop a long screenshot and export it. I divided them using guide lines and then went into the Export Persona panel. However, it failed to automatically capture my guides. This is very inconvenient. Expected result I hope that Export Persona can refer like Photoshop slicing tool, automatically identify my guide lines, and provide a quick cutting and export method without requiring me to manually cut the image. Hello, when I copy an element from my current work plan, it sticks to the location of the original: this seems normal, it's very practical and what has been happening since the dawn of time... Nice job on Affinity 2.0. I already purchased all apps. FEATURE REQUEST: It would be nice to see a type of VECTOR ERASER in Affinity Designer 2 that would allow us to quickly erase INTERSECTING LINES. I need to crop a number of scanned images and want the resulting crop of each to be the same dimensions so that when I resize the images, they're all uniform. Trying to adjust the crop according to the vector crop tool's size indicator is too fiddly and time consuming. Is there a way to resize the crop in a similar fashion to resizing the image itself by entering the width and height in the transform window, or is there another, better way to get the result I'm after? Hello team. I'll tell you: When I activate the live "perspective" filter on a pixel layer, the view is corrupted and shows the error shown in the attached video. The error does not happen with vector layers. I'm using: MacBook Pro M1 Pro Max, 32 Gb RAM, 1tb SSD Affinity Designer V2 2.2.1 with Metal acceleration enabled (the problem persists even if it is disabled) I hope you can solve this little detail that I just discovered. Hello forum folks, hoping I can get some assistance with this issue and that I'm just missing something obvious. I'm working on a laptop (windows) and find that the majority of the UI (text, icons, etc.) is too small. Some of the fonts scale correctly to my system preferences, but most are microscopic. I have googled and it says there should be a UI font scale option or icon scale option under the User Interfaces section of the preferences menu, but I cannot see it (see attached - screenshot in designer v2). If I can't fix this, it's really going to limit my ability to work with any of the affinity v2 apps on this device. TL;DR: How can I scale up the UI for v2 apps on windows? Any help appreciated.

Hello. Maybe I pressed something, maybe it is a bug, but I have color background behind any new text. (Artistic and Frame.) The background is smaller than this which you can set in Character Panel. The text itself do not have any styles nor decorations applied. When resetting defaults in document in (Edit Tab) and reverting text to defaults, color background stays. Hello, I am trying to adjust my stroke on some text and the adjusting slider and unit pad are both being very buggy. When I try to slide the stroke up slightly, the adjuster slider goes straight to 106.4 pt or higher. Regardless of which exact unit it is at, the slider is all the way to the end. At that point, it won't let me slide it back at all, or it might go down a few points. If I tap the beginning of the slider, it will go back down but again if I try to slide it slowly forward, it jumps straight to 106.4 pt or more. Then I tried to adjust the stroke by tapping on the 106.4 pt sign and punching in 50 pt. The slider goes to 53.2 pt, then I try to get it to 55 pt and it goes to 58.5 pt. In other words it's all over the map. I am using an iPad Pro 12.9" 3rd Gen. It's running Affinity Designer (all three apps are installed) and it's updated to 2.2.0. My iPad is updated to 17.0.3. Hi everyone. I was working on a file, everything was going perfectly, but now I can't open it anymore. I would try to recall exactly how it happened: I used "force quit" from my Mac to exit the document as I had to leave quickly, and then internally from the hard drive I moved the file I was working on from its current location on the Mac to a shared OneDrive folder. Later on, after restarting the computer, I tried opening it but it gets stuck on "Loading 1 Document" forever (waited for a day), and in the process my Mac's CPU usage rampage to 100%. Since then, I haven't been able to open it. Note I can still work normally on other files without any issues. I have tried a few things: I sent the document to a friend who was able to open it without any issues. I asked him to save it with another name and send it back, but I still can't open this new file. I also asked a friend to copy a few elements from inside the file to another new one and send it to me, but still can't open this new one. Following forum's guidelines: I am using the latest version of Affinity Designer 2. I can upload the document but I would need you to provide a safe link. General Description: Operating System MacOS Monterey version 12.6.3 (21G419). MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2015) Processor 2.8 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7 Memory 16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3 Graphics AMD Radeon R9 M370X 2 GB I have turned hardware acceleration OFF. Thanks!

Affinity Designer 2.1.1 cannot open a svg if the file is encoded in ASCII. When I change the encoding to UTF-8, then it works just fine: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="ascii" standalone="no"?> <svg version="1.1" ... => <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="no"?> <svg version="1.1" ... Is there a reason why Affinity doesn't support ASCII (Inkscape does).

To me, the lasso/ freehand selection tool (and polygonal selection tools) are a must have in my daily workflow. For very irregular selections, they are indispensable, especially when you also have to avoid selecting other objects close-by. It still surprises me on a regular basis that I cannot use such a vital tool after having used other software that have such selection tools. Please add these selection tools to Designer and Publisher!

Hola: Desde la ultima actualizacion de Affinity Designer el programa se cierra inesperadamente, esto sucede tanto en la version MSIX y en la version EXE, incluso el cierre del programa sucede cuando no se está trabajando en él, simplemente estando en espera, hasta el momento no he encontrado ninguna solucion en los foros, ya intente realizar la reinstalacion del programa en ambas versiones (MSIX y EXE) pero en ninguno de los casos esto recuelve el problema, ojala me puedan indicar de que forma se puede solucionar esto...

Please add single layer export (what exports whole layer). there is current way what allows save only area of document what is inside of document. and one trick what works if imported image is same format where document is.(clipborad tricks what convert layer document profile when is creates new). if somethign what i dont seen even tried search this forum and web please tell.

I like to use currently existing noise feature for strokes and fills that can be accessed by clicking on it's button in the color panel. However, when turned on, it gives the results that don't match the exported, finalized artwork. Moreover, it is hard to work with because it 'masks' the actual colors in the artwork overview. I know that APhoto has a live filter 'Add Noise', but that is not the point of this topic. Can Noise feature from ADesign be tweaked to give more realistic result and less intrusive during the workflow? This is in the preview from the artboard with noise turned all the way to 100%. This is exported jpeg image as the result.

Every time when I'm in Export Persona and exporting a file, the moment I want to select a folder Designer is freezing up (I have no experience with Affinity Photo neither with Publisher). Hi, Since the first Version of Affinity Designer 2 I have this problem: When I deselect an object, the selection border of the curves still persist. This is a big annoing problem that forces me to close and reopen the file in order to have a clear and clean view of what I'm creating every 5 minutes 😭

I was hoping to use the vector warp feature on linked PDF and linked PNG files, to distort topographic maps. However, the vector warp feature does not affect linked files. Could this non-destructive workflow please be added for linked files?

I seem to unable to set the stroke size for my linework correctly, the values I input are changed and the slider jumps. 2022-12-24 10-12-45.mp4 2022-12-24 10-18-35.mp4 This is on Windows 10 22H2, Hardware acceleration is disabled. I am using a GTX 1070 (notebook version) with last standard GPU driver 472.84 (for some reason, I encounter bugs on the DCH drivers). But this never led to issues in Designer 1.9 and up. Nor did I see this in 2.0.0.
