  1. Please remove the image size limitation (32767 pixels) for png files! I have a 48138 px x 72518 px tiff file that I wanted to export to a png file of exactly half the size (that would be 24269 px x 36259 px). But Photo only saves a 21750 px x 32767 px file without any warning! I can't see any plausible reason for this behavior, especially because saving to a 24269 px x 36259 px TIFF works fine.
  2. Let's go back to school, with some of those common and well known school protractors for measuring in degrees. ... etc. The protractor assets shared here ... ... are all vector based and do have printed on degree scales. You have to adapt/size the default assets protractor sizes to your document needs and thus scale them up/down so they nearly match your doc measurements. Note that all protractors are just a bunch of grouped/layered together vector parts (curves and text) thus they can be modified in colorings and the like. Also you should always move & size etc. a whole reused protractor group/layer when needed! Here is the associated assets file: protractors.afassets Have a nice school day!
  3. I have been a adobe user now affinity. here is 2 samples of me using the program. i only do basic stuff. I am a shooter not a big graphic person. these samples are overlays, watermark and adding a closed eye for a open on. love the program. Had to do some learning but its ok lolol copyright.
  4. Hi there 👋 This time I tried to recreate my old work with Blender. The challenge was not to use 3D programs, but only free images and AP of course! In the attachment, I have put the images used and also the Affinity Designer brush that I created to make the chain. To use it in AP create a curve in AD, assign the brush to it as a Stroke, and copy and paste in AF. From here you can change the chain's shape and thickness from the control panel - I haven't figured out how to create it directly in AF yet... 🤔 I hope you like it! Ciao e grazie Davide catena.afbrushes
  5. Hello Affinity team.. i created a poster and all set to export ..but the problem comes when iam exporting as JPEG from AP...some strange glitches are coming in the final export. The only solution i found is to open that file in Affinity Designer and export it ..then everything is fine..i don't know why it is occuring ..may be its a bug ..That's why iam reporting here. Please solve this issue asap..
  6. Hi guys, It's all right? 👋 This time I have something very simple: a cover for one of my pieces of music. A little touch of typography on top of a Pixabay image. Ciao e grazie! 👍 Davide
  7. According to Affinity Photo 2 Help but once the pinned document has been opened, the pin gets removed, making pinning pretty useless. Affinity Photo v 2.10 (but I've seen this behaviour before) on Windows 10 Recent Pinned Docs.mp4
  8. I frequently use my iPad with the folio case which props it at a slight angle. Interestingly Affinity Photo AND Affinity Designer seem to be reacting to this angle when trying to place photos. The whole interface flickers strangely and taps aren't always registered. The video demonstrates it in Affinity Photo but the behavior is also the same in Designer. Previous to 2.0 I noticed other features in Affinity Designer such as keyboard visibility that were delicately affected by the slight angle. I haven't determined if these are still issues but I haven't seen any other iPad app that has had issues with this angle. You'll notice the flickering only occurs while the iPad is at the slight angle, but not when it is upright. This is an 11in iPad Pro M1 running iPadOS 16.2 (a). I have noticed this in previous versions of the OS IMG_5679.MOV
  9. Hi guys, is everything okay? 👍 I'm still here 😁... here's another photo composition with AF. All the images are from Pexel and I made a couple of things (the sheets and the clock) with Blender because I couldn't find any right images and the man with the umbrella was recolored because the image was black and white. I learned a lot while trying to solve the problems that came up every ten minutes...🤔 I hope you like it... I like it a lot! 😂 Ciao e grazie Davide
  10. Spent the day listening to lots of viking folk like Heilung, Wardruna, and A Tergo Lupi and got inspired. Couldn't think of a decent name for it Original image for comparison can be found here
  11. Hi, Convert to Art Text and Convert to Frame Text are present and very useful in Designer and Publisher. Please can they be added to Photo, as it's basically the same text engine, surely, but the lack of it is a real pain! Literally couldn't believe it wasn't there since its in the other two. Thanks, Chris

  13. I have an image which I have extracted from the background and applied Mask to it and Let's say from that image if I want to use some hair which is near the ear of the subject on the right side ear and I want to recreate and use those hair on the other side, left side of the ear. Can I make a selection of the hair from the already extracted image which I have created and applied Mask to or will I have to make a new selection of the hair from the original image and then use it ? The reason I want to use the hair from the extracted image with a mask is because the hair in that image is refined and worked upon so it gives me a good selection.
  14. Hi folks! I wanted to report a bug I encountered yesterday and found my fix for. Upon launching any of the three programs, they would get stuck with just the splash screen saying "Initializing..." until the following message appeared: Naturally, this was confusing, as all Affinity programs were working just fine the day before when I'd updated them, and I've never touched my firewall settings! My setup and required details: Computer Specs OS: Windows 11 Home, version 22H2, OS Build 22621.3007 Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-9300H CPU @ 2.40GHz RAM: 16.0 GB System type: 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor Using all three programs, Photo, Designer, and Publisher Using the latest release versions (2.3.1) Yes, I reproduced it, and found the issue + workaround (see below) What I tried (without success): Restarting my PC Uninstalling and re-installing all Affinity Products Once with the MSIX installer and "app" Once with the EXE installer and "programs" Adjusting and opening up my Firewall settings Today (as I post this) I have found the issue: Hidden Folders! Many programs on my PC have created folders on my PC at C:\Users\[my username] that start with a dot; as I understand it, these are common with cross-platform programs and normally get hidden by Mac OSX and Linux machines, but not necessarily by Windows, and they were starting to clutter my User directory, so I marked them and the contents inside as hidden. Shortly after, my problem above began. As soon as I un-hid the folder C:\Users\[my username]\.affinity, lo and behold, the programs started right up, and when I hid the folder again, the issue returned. My other PC running a different AMD setup with Windows 11 had the exact same issue when I hid and unhid the .affinity folder. Possible cause in the program: According to a Stack Overflow page I found while looking up how to hide the folders in the first place (as well as another page with further details linked from there), it appears that if a Windows program calls CreateFile with the CREATE_ALWAYS flag but no definition for FILE_ATTRIBUTE_HIDDEN, operations will fail on hidden files. While I can't speak to what the Affinity programs are doing while initializing, I imagine the issue could be this, or something similar. I hope this is helpful for others who have a similar problem, and for Affinity developers to hopefully fix the issue when it's possible to do so.
  15. This was the original. I wasn’t commissioned to do this, I just thought it would be good practice to create something better. For the main image I generated a prompt using Playground AI. I then edited some details using Affinity Photo, adjusted the lighting and colors, added half-tone, and used some overlay textures. I think it's definitely more attention grabbing (lol)
  16. Hi there, Affinity photo 2 is for some reason is not handeling the RAW "lossless comp" files properly. It seems that the lens correction is inverted and it makes blackbars around the image. When I use a compressed RAW image it is working properly. I tried resetting settings affinity photo 2 (no changes) Opend in ACDSee working properly Opend in Sony Imaging Edge working properly Opend in Windows photo working properly Test raw images added and jpegs all directly from the camera Specs: Camera: Sony A6700 All lenses when RAW compression setting is in "lossless comp" PC: Windows 11 32 gb ram Nvidea geforce RTX 4090 Affinity photo 2.2.1.2075 DSC02821 compressed.ARW DSC02822 lossless comp.ARW
  17. What a grand title for such a simple picture concept! All photo's sourced at Unsplash. Visualisation created using Affinity Photo.
  18. Hi, in this Affinity Photo Tutorial I show how to capture this hotspot with a beautiful mood. The Charles Bridge in Prague is beautiful, but also very crowded. If you're unlucky with the weather, your short vacation seems to end without a nice photo. Here I show important steps from taking photos to editing. I wish you fun & inspiration (perhaps for getting out early in your city). Ciao Jack
  19. Geometric line art. The figure itself created in Affinity Designer, and the effects and background added in Affinity Photo.
  20. Made with symbols Affinity Photo V2. Text at the gear is “gears of life”.
  21. Been having mouse stutter issues with all three applications for a while now whenever GSync is active, regardless of which option I choose. Updated to Geforce 417.41 drivers today, and the problem is still present. Running on a RTX 2070 Super on a 34" ultrawide at 120Hz with Gsync on. The problem goes away if I turn Gsync off. Which I don't want to have to do all the time...
  22. Accidentally I turned a text layer (Frame Text) into curves, that is each single letter is on it's own. How can I undo this (turn the text into one single text layer again)? Oh, and how did I actually do this (so I can prevent it from happening in the future ... 🙃)? I just clicked or double-clicked somewhere in the layer to change the text ... Thank you!
  23. Designed some neuemorphic icons for the Affinity Suite in Designer. Inspired by @yeye's Affinity Designer icon on Dribbble. Hope you guys like it! I'd love some feedback or ideas! Affinity Designer Neue.afdesign Affinity Photo Neue.afdesign Affinity Publisher Neue 2.afdesign
  24. How can the auto warp text (is that the name of the function?) in Affinity Photo be turned off? I only want to resize the layer size to fit in more text, not distort the text. See image below. Thank you! 🙂
  25. Not long ago, the last fish in my room died. So while looking at an empty fish tank, I suddenly made an image under the theme of "My Fish Friend." "My Fish Friend" speed art : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QOFrRmOQlhg
