  1. This has been documented in previous threads, but still exists in 2.0. Behaviour: Click to add a point with the node tool, then quickly click again to move it. In 1.8.3 and earlier, this worked as expected, but in all versions since, nothing happens. The program seems to recognise the process as a double click instead of two quick single clicks, even though there is no action - set or customisable - from double clicking in this manner. Previous bug report threads on the bug (now in archived forums):
  2. Hello, I wanted to reiterate an issue with the node tool in the vector persona that I've noticed in Affinity Designer in versions 1.8.4 - 1.9.0 on a Windows 10 PC. This issue was reported before for v1.8.4 in this forum post: Node Tool - double click issues - Pre 1.9 Designer Bugs found on Windows - Affinity | Forum (serif.com), but I just wanted to make a note to say that it still exists in later versions as well. The issue occurs in every document when trying to use the node tool to select nodes. A node can be selected as normal, but when you try to drag or adjust the node, the click doesn't register, thus deselecting the node. Every so often, dragging does actually work, but this seems to be random. The issue gets worse the closer you zoom in, and sometimes makes the entire program lag a bit as well. This should be reproduceable on every version after 1.8.3 in both new and old documents. There isn't really anything that can be captured in a screenshot for this bug. Before this bug appeared you could simply select a node and move/adjust it all in one movement. I have tested every version of Designer, but I have to keep reinstalling version 1.8.3 because it is the most recent release that does not have this bug. This causes a different problem because I can't open documents from coworkers who are using the newer versions. Thanks for reading, - Mitch System Information: Bug occurs on Affinity Designer 1.8.4, 1.8.5, and 1.9.0 Most recent version without bug: Affinity Designer version 1.8.3.641 Windows 10 Processor: AMD Ryzen 7 1700x GPU: AMD Radeon Vega FE 16GB RAM
  3. My english language is horrible. Sorry ! I have the same problem that Scott Williams had here : But after the node clings to the cursor, I can work normaly. So my problem is just for the curves adjustment point snapping, because it slows me down a lot in my work. I aften do it 2 times or 3 because node not follow the mouse immediatly. I need to move the mouse several pixels for the node follows the mouse. Because of this when I try to work with normal speed I have to do it twice points, because when I modified point, 50% hasn't moved at all. I have 47 illustrations (and 200 small ones) to redraw in vector. I created the nodes from the scan of my sketches, then modify all the nodes (position and vector handle). This is my first book and I plan to do 1 per year. It's a real torture for me ... and I'm not sure I can do it before the deadlines ... I don't see that on the official tutorials. Is it normal ? Have I forgotten any settings or options ? Help me, please ! I am lost. This problem is also referenced in this forum here (first reference) : And here (second reference) : I posted in french forum here : https://www.affinity-forum.fr/showthread.php?tid=6059. But no solution in my problem. But 1 person is having the same problem (It is not inconvenient for its use). That's what I tested : I have had Affinity Design for several months. I started with 1.8 then 1.9, 1.9.2., 1.10 and 1.10.1. This problem is the same regardless of the version used. I have also been on Linux with an old PC with 8 Go of RAM, then on Windows 10 with the same PC, then on a new PC with Windows 10 and 64 Go RAM, and for the end, on my current PC with 64 Go RAM and 16-core processor and grafic card RTX 30x series... and the problem is the same. I unchecked hardware acceleration, but that doesn't change anything. I increased my used RAM from 22Go to 44Go (I have 64Go), but that doesn't change anything. I changed the card the software was working on (graphics card), but it's worse. So I went back to the default one (my dedicated graphics card NVidia RTX 30x series). I also lowered the undo history to 8, but that didn't change anything. "Save history in document" is unchecked. Verification. Virtual memory. In Windows -> Performance -> advanced -> modify, I have "automatic management for swap files for drives" checked. Verification. My operating system is installed on my primary hard drive which is a "500 Go SAMSUNG 980 PRO M.2, PCIe NVMe", and my files are on the same hard drive. Verification. I have more than 350 Go of free space on this hard drive. Verification. My current PC is new, well protected against viruses and I have ruined myself for this PC precisely to avoid encountering this kind of problem. T_T Whatever the size of my files, even a blank file without background at 72ppp with only a closed curve composed of 8 points drawn with a brush (simple straight line) presents the same problem. I have other very greedy software which does not pose problems, like for example Shutter Encoder for video recoding of BDMV in H265 1080p 10bits... no problem. I also use Gimp and Krita, and an old copy of Photoshop 7.0 (2002). No problem. I am with the conventional mouse, but with the tablet (Wacom Intuos 3 A5 Wide) and other tablet Wacom from 2018 and 2 other mouses, same problem. All drivers are correctly installed. Verification. Finally, I reset Windows 10 on my current PC and only installed Affinity Designer to check if the problem was with all my softwares. But that doesn't change anything about this problem. A video a made for to see : Here is better quality : https://www.farahdouibi.fr/test_LD.mp4 (2 Mo) Second test here : https://www.farahdouibi.fr/test2_LD.mp4 (2,2 Mo) -> my file Affinity Designer for this test, if you want to try : https://www.farahdouibi.fr/test2.afdesign Details: just selecting a node is immediate, but as long as I want to move it in the same action, the node is not immediately selected and therefore, do not come immediately with the mouse. Whether I click to select the node and move it in the same action or else that I click to select the node, release it, then click this already (selected) to move it, the result is the same. This software is really nice, so I hope a lot for a solution
