I use Expand Stroke a lot in my artwork. I'm also a very heavy user of Layer Effects. Typically I will create paths, add my effects and towards the end, expand certain strokes, depending on the artwork. I have noticed every time I expand a stroke I need to go back in and reset my layer effects settings due to some weird shift during the expansion process. And it seems to be worse on smaller objects. Not too bad on art that only has a few lines with layer effects, but with more complex artwork containing hundreds of shapes... it's a nightmare. I have attached an image illustrating the results on a curve that has a width of 24 points and a stroke with a width of 8 points. The noticeable difference in which the layer effects are rendered after the stroke expansion is quite extreme. Just wanted to point this out. Thanks for your due diligence.
