  1. I am having problems exporting my magazine to pdf/x-4 for the printer. I am using the same files that I used last month that were designed in AD and I had no problem with them last month. This month it keeps coming up with a failed message when I am exporting. I have tried to put in the same file from last month and it still fails but last month it saved them without a problem. The files are all stored on the hard drive of my iMac so it's not a problem from them being in the cloud. I've tried to use my Macbook pro as well to save the files and get the same problem. I have saved the file as a PDF for print for the printer but he wants it in pdf/x-4 and other than going through all 70 odd pages and converting all the adverts to flattened images I don't know what to do. Thanks Jo
  2. I have posters that I cannot get to export for anything. They are senior posters and I really dont' want to post them because it has their names on it. The problem even if everythign on the page is rasterized it still cannot export. There are 15 the document and they are 36x48". I ended up exporting them as JPG files but I had to make them .5" larger to account for the bleed. It was the only way I could get them out. Is there a way that I can find out exactly what the error is rather than the message be so generic? The pictures used were all done as individual affinity photo files. Last year I did them and the file got into the gigs in size because I embedded the pictures and then did the masking.
  3. Hi, I've just finished designing the 260 page long book. I tried to export it to PDF (press, digital, for export), but it kept reporting error. After some trying, I managed to export it into PDF/X- 4. I searched this forum, read posts and comments, so I went on exploring. The book I'm working on has 10 images (jpg), I deleted one by one and continued exporting the file, with error as a result. Soon, I discovered that one image is causing the problem. So, I just converted it into png and it solved the problem. However, for the future reference and learning purpose, I would like to know what's wrong with this jpg photo, why it makes problems for creating PDF's? Can anyone give me an explanation why this image is not good for Publisher to create a PDF? Thank you very much, appreciate your replies. I uploaded the file here: https://1drv.ms/u/s!Aj224Rsr4kY69HDdIScij2Sg7oue?e=6RSY0n
  4. The export fails only with preset X-4, all other presets are working. A good indicator for a failing export is, when calculating Estimated File Size is never coming to an end. There is nothing spectacular about this linked / embedded PSD. CMYK, 300 dpi, 2166x2164px, placed DPI is 1460, only one layer, no effects, transparent background. There is a photoshop path inside and a vector mask. When I delete the Photoshop path export still fails. When I delete the vector mask export is working. Interesting here is the fact, that even when the vector mask is deactivated, APu still uses this mask. PSD is attached. failing.psd
