  1. Is it possible to hide the layer bounding box when kerning or making other type adjustments using kbs? Obviously the spacebar can't be held down during this process. Thanks.
  2. Hi Affinity Forum! I'm fairly new to Affinity and having been learning as I go since buying it over the summer, but I have come across a hurdle that I need some help with. I'm in the early stages of founding a new online wine startup (caminodelvino.co.uk) and I have been practising and playing around with my photo and editing skills in the run up to launch. Using a mini home studio as my setup, I've managed to edit a photo (see wine photo attached) to an acceptable level so far and recently, used the healing brush tool to edit out the crease line on my backdrop so that it looks more 'professional'. I have three questions: 1) is there a better alternative to using the healing brush for the removing background creases or folds? 2) if not, is there anyway I can make it non-destructive to the photo at all, or is this likely to be a last decision editing job in any circumstances? 3) As much as blue is a nice colour, it isn't the backdrop I'd like to use for my wine on my website. I have alternative backdrop colours, but I was wondering if there is anyway I can lay over a full background colour (RGB Hex #FEF0E2) to be more inline with my companies colour palette, whilst retaining that 'professional' photo look about it (i.e slight shadow effect etc. - see shoe photo for example). Any help would be greatly appreciated thank you!
  3. I often struggle with choosing the "right" widths of strokes and contours so I keep changing them throughout the process. Unfortunately Designer is not really sensitive with them. If you select several strokes at once and change their width Designer sets the width of all of them to the same value. It makes sense but I often want to keep the ratios between the thick and the thin stokes so I suggest some possible solutions: 1. Add an checkbox "Adjust average value" With this option On you would change the average value of the selected group and the values of each member would change proportionally. (I.e. average 5->10, stroke A 4->8, stroke B 7->14) 2. Slider with two (or even three) control points I like this option more because it would give me a better control and it would be universal. With a group of many different strokes the first control point would represent the minimal existing value and the second point the maximum (they could use slightly different colours, etc.). Moving any of these points would spread all the values. You can also merge both control points together and set all strokes to the same values. You could even add the third (middle) control point representing the average to make the transformation function a curve. 3. Two (or more) sliders These would basically handle the same thing as suggestion 2 but they would require additional space so I think two-point slider would be more convenient from the designer's point of view. I am talking mostly about the width of strokes but I am sure the extended two-point slider would be useful for many other group values.
  4. Hi Everyone, Can someone tell me how i can adjust the flow without adjusting the numbers in the actual menu? For example the same way you can do with the Opacity when you press the number keys. Hope my question made sense. Thanks!
  5. Hey there, today I worked with the common rectangular selection and was wondering if there’s a way to move the selection while creating it. Situation was I wanted to select a specific area and missed it by one pixel at the top only … I'm used to hold down the spacebar as a modification key and move/adjusting the its position it while creating it as long as the key is pressed. I mostly used it for rectangular, circular and the column selections. Would be a nice addition, so one would save an additional step in creating the selection by drawing another rectangle over the existing one or even create a new one while zoomed in. What do you guys think? :) Cheers Dennis
